Introduction: the position of mandibular third molar during its eruption can influence on the outcome of orthodontic treatment or the need to turn to an orthodontic treatment again. Objective: to ...describe the position of mandibular third molars during eruption in patients who received orthodontic treatment at the dental office Desing Dental, in the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Ecuador. Method: a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out; the universe was constituted by the total of patients who received orthodontic treatment, patients between 13 and 33 years of age; the sampling applied was simple random and the sample selected gathered 23 patients, 11 male and 12 female. The information collected was obtained throught a documentary review of the radiographic reports, using a guide prepared for this purpose. The outcomes were presented in tables and were contrasted with those of other investigations. Ethical principles were respected. Results: the most common position of the third molars according to age and sex was as follow: From the 11 male patients, in 2 of them the position was vertical, 8 mesioangular and 1 horizontal; whereas in the 12 female patients, in two of them the position was vertical, 8 mesioangular and 2 distoangular. Conclusions: the most frequent position of third molars during eruption in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment was the mesioangular position.
In this article, we use the Deleuzoguattarian division between social subjection (assujettissement) and machinic enslavement (asservissement machinique) as the basis for understanding the formation ...of the cognitariat in Global Game Jams. After contextualizing these sessions and their importance for the video game development industry, we will examine the dimensions of user-producer subjection (such as the appeal to entrepreneurship, continuing training, and formation of communities) and explore dimensions of machinic enslavement (flexible work dynamics, game and labour fusion, division of tasks and projects, etc.).
This article analyses a case of action research collaboratively conducted by a university teacher and 50 students in a master's course in teacher training. Its originality resides in the ...socio-economic, academic, and conceptual nature of the obstacles encountered in the module; in the meta-theoretical orientation of the action research that was chosen to overcome them; and in how triangulation strategies were devised to compensate for the limitations imposed by the academic framing of the course. In spite of the brevity of the research cycle, both the structure of the course and teacher-student interaction improved rapidly and significantly, as did the latter's trust in the teacher. As a result, important advances in learning also ensued, and the pedagogical potential of this research method was thereby confirmed.

•Thermal conductivity of a silver filled conductive epoxy between 4 and 300K.•Finite element model of a highly accurate cryogenic microwave noise source.•Analysis of the effect of epoxy in the ...temperature distribution of the noise source.•Contribution of different materials to the temperature gradient of the noise source.
The pressure to increase the sensitivity of instrumentation has pushed the use of cryogenic Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) technology into a growing number of fields. These areas range from radio astronomy and deep space communications to fundamental physics. In this context manufacturing for cryogenic environments requires a proper thermal knowledge of the materials to be able to achieve adequate design behavior. In this work, we present experimental measurements of the thermal conductivity of a silver filled conductive epoxy (EPO-TEK H20E) which is widely used in cryogenic electronics applications. The characterization has been made using a sample preparation which mimics the practical use of this adhesive in the fabrication of cryogenic devices. We apply the data obtained to a detailed analysis of the effects of the conductive epoxy in a monolithic thermal noise source used for high accuracy cryogenic microwave noise measurements. In this application the epoxy plays a fundamental role since its limited thermal conductivity allows heating the chip with relatively low power. To our knowledge, the cryogenic thermal conductivity data of this epoxy has not been reported before in the literature in the 4–300K temperature range. A second non-conductive epoxy (Gray Scotch-Weld 2216 B/A), also widely used in cryogenic applications, has been measured in order to validate the method by comparing with previous published data.

Renewable energies (RE) are naturally replenishable and sustainable energy sources. Solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass, and ocean energy are among these sources. This study sought to determine ...the factors influencing the acceptance of Filipinos’ renewable energy utilization using the Pro-Environmental Planned Behavior (PEPB) model. A questionnaire survey was disseminated to obtain the required information and ascertain the variables affecting the behavioral intention of Filipinos in accepting RE. In examining the results, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was utilized with Partial Least Squares SEM (PLS-SEM) to identify other existing relationships. Findings revealed that Perceived Authority Support (PAS) is the most significant variable affecting Perceived Environmental Concern (PEC), inducing an indirect effect on the Behavioral Intention (BI) of Filipinos. The factor with the highest significance affecting BI is the Subjective Norm (SN). Accordingly, such results suggest that the government should implement incentive-based strategies, while considering the impact of SN, by gaining the public’s favor on the transition from traditional energy sources to green alternatives. In addition, educational programs and campaigns may be administered to spread awareness and fill in information gaps among Filipino citizens.
A common form of moral hypocrisy occurs when people blame others for moral violations that they themselves commit. It is assumed that hypocritical blamers act in this manner to falsely signal that ...they hold moral standards that they do not really accept. We tested this assumption by investigating the neurocognitive processes of hypocritical blamers during moral decision-making. Participants (62 adult UK residents; 27 males) underwent functional MRI scanning while deciding whether to profit by inflicting pain on others and then judged the blameworthiness of others’ identical decisions. Observers (188 adult U.S. residents; 125 males) judged participants who blamed others for making the same harmful choice to be hypocritical, immoral, and untrustworthy. However, analyzing hypocritical blamers’ behaviors and neural responses shows that hypocritical blame was positively correlated with conflicted feelings, neural responses to moral standards, and guilt-related neural responses. These findings demonstrate that hypocritical blamers may hold the moral standards that they apply to others.

The content o f this thesisprovides extensive SAR data for the general class of hydroxy-substituted 2-amino-tetrahydronaphthalene-1-ols as conformationally restricted epinephrine analogs with high β2 ...selectivity. Several tetralins that clearly showed improved pharmacodynamic properties compared to the initial lead compounds “superepi” and “superiso” were discovered. In addition, the N-formyltetrahydroquinoline scaffold was explored as a substitute for the tetralin pharmacophore, resulting in β2 partial agonists with a totally new chemotype. In order to take the importance of stereochemistry for the physiological activity of all these adrenergic agonists into account, most compounds were prepared in the enantiopure form ((R,R) and/or (S,S)). The comparison of respective enantiomeric pairs revealed inconsistent eutomer-distomer relationships, emphasizing the complex interaction of stereochemistry and N-substitution pattern in these rigidized adrenergics. Furthermore, the synthesis of a novel tricyclic pharmacophore structure was accomplished. The results of this thesis can help to further understand the spatial and stereochemical aspects of β2 (partial) agonism. Suitable ligands can be used as molecular probes whenever extraordinary β2 selectivity is a desired property.
This text focuses on a didactic sequence (DS) which was put into practice during the school year 2011-2012 with 6th grade students from the public school Jaume I "El Conqueridor" of Catarroja ...(Valencia) in the area of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). The DS was applied to the teaching of an expository text, and different pedagogic strategies-vocabulary redundancy, familiarity with the ideas involved, and a checklist to encourage student autonomy-were implemented to allow students to experiment this practice as a coherent, cohesive process adapted to their needs. The final DS design stroke a balance between a grammatical and a purely ideational focus and as a result, students were able to improve their acquaintance with and use the main features of expository writing without becoming estranged in the learning process.
