In 2014, 30 years after the anti-Sikh pogrom (Chauraasi) instigated by the Hindu Right destroyed Sikh lives in New Delhi, I listened to the survivors and witnesses of the 1984 pogrom chat casually ...about their memories of the violence. Several visited their former homes at the original site of the violence and undertook 'walks' to remember what they had experienced. As they did so, they talked, creating a record of where their autobiographical re-tellings of those events created communal memory. While sociological scholarship attends to the trauma of 1984 (Saluja 2015; Das 2006), there is yet to emerge a reckoning with the performance iterations of such event-narratives as the memory walks. Using frameworks of witnessing, describing, and walking, thinking with how a walk can 'hear-tell' memory, I ask in this article: how does one re-tell testimonies of trauma and rumour that the survivors of Chauraasi remembered to and with a non-survivor? In what ways does rumour operate officially and informally? How does the telling, description, and undertaking of the memory walk reproduce a crisis of witnessing, and how does the aural and embodied performance of the walk respond to this crisis? How does the aporia between the descriptions emerging on memory walks and the ineffability of traumatic memory conjure the epistemic limits of narration?

The history of modern South Asian art has been fast-moving, but art that is about modern South Asian history is still in its infancy. While the art of the post-Independence era continues to wrest ...with the legacies of colonisation, fractured nationhood, majoritarian politics, and weakening secular legacies, there is a strain of this art preoccupied with the historical gaze. In relation to works of art by Dayanita Singh and Ali Kazim, the aesthetics of representing archives and archiving can be examined in order to explore the politics of nationalism and historical change, as well as the global neoliberal economies of institutional archiving practices. The tendency to look back constantly over the region's past raises questions about whom these artistic interventions address and the archival logics at work within this distinctive field of contemporary art.

'There is an economy of narrative, it will be said, an economy of memory. One cannot recount everything,' wrote Jean-François Augoyard. 'What can be known about what occurred during a walk?' (2007: ...68) Over the last decade, explorations on foot of New Delhi have erupted as urban practices indicative of global tourism. These range from middle-class explorations to heritage walks, 'slum' walks and pedestrians' explorations of local ecologies. Delhi, as a perpetual capital-city across the centuries, has emerged as a palimpsest of loss, glamour and resistance in urban history, oral legends and poetry. Old Delhi-now part of postcolonial Delhi, but functioning as a former walled city within a larger global identity-continues to occupy a liminal position in urban discourse, its proximity to modernity still calibrated in accordance with its older history as the capital of the Mughal Empire. Walking remains the primary mode of navigation in parts of Old Delhi, speaking to the possibility of walking as a performance of everyday life in urban India, a conversation that, with a few exceptions, remains heavily focused on walking in European, American and Canadian cities (Ingold and Vergunst 2008; Shortell and Brown 2014).
In this brief manifesto of differing modes of walking in the contemporary socio-cultural space of Old Delhi, I seek to explore a decolonization of contemporary conversations on walking by highlighting the necessity of contextualizing walking's proximity with the ground. Borrowing from methodologies of performance-ethnographic writing, this photo-essay interrogates closeness with the ordinary to destabilize dominant cultural narratives on walking emerging from the West.

Abstract
We explore the decay of turbulence and magnetic fields generated by fluctuation dynamo action in the context of galaxy clusters where such a decaying phase can occur in the aftermath of a ...major merger event. Using idealized numerical simulations that start from a kinetically dominated regime we focus on the decay of the steady state rms velocity and the magnetic field for a wide range of conditions that include varying the compressibility of the flow, the forcing wavenumber, and the magnetic Prandtl number. Irrespective of the compressibility of the flow, both the rms velocity and the rms magnetic field decay as a power law in time. In the subsonic case we find that the exponent of the power law is consistent with the −3/5 scaling reported in previous studies. However, in the transonic regime both the rms velocity and the magnetic field initially undergo rapid decay with an ≈t−1.1 scaling with time. This is followed by a phase of slow decay where the decay of the rms velocity exhibits an ≈−3/5 scaling in time, while the rms magnetic field scales as ≈−5/7. Furthermore, analysis of the Faraday rotation measure (RM) reveals that the Faraday RM also decays as a power law in time ≈t−5/7; steeper than the ∼t−2/5 scaling obtained in previous simulations of magnetic field decay in subsonic turbulence. Apart from galaxy clusters, our work can have potential implications in the study of magnetic fields in elliptical galaxies.

This paper focuses on the possibilities and limitations of the contemporary dérive as a form of ethnography in contemporary Delhi. The dérive, which originated as the Surrealist déambulation and ...subsequently became the Situationist dérive in the late 1950s, has now been re-imagined by walking artists and practitioners. In seeking to locate the Situationist dérive as an ethnographic practice within (Old) Delhi through Abdelhafid Khatib's dérive, this paper dwells on the experimental origins of the Situationist dérive and its journey through contemporary pedestrian practices, and asks how walking as a gendered, autoethnographic practice of the city might help narrate and navigate Indian urban spaces./Ovaj se rad bavi mogucnostima i ogranicenjima suvremenog dérivea kao oblika etnografije u suvremenom Delhiju. Dérive, koji je potekao iz nadrealistickog promisljanja i potom su ga krajem pedesetih godina prosloga stoljeca usvojili situacionisti, danas ponovno osmisljavaju umjetnici i prakticari. Pokusavajuci locirati situacionisticki dérive kao etnografsku praksu u (Starom) Delhiju pomocu dérivea Abdelhafida Khatiba, u radu se promisljaju eksperimentalni poceci situacionistickog dérivea i njegov put u suvremenim pjesackim praksama te se postavlja pitanje kako hodanje kao rodno odredena i autoetnografska praksa grada moze pomoci u pripovijedanju i svladavanju indijskih urbanih prostora.
ABSTRACT
Using magnetohydrodynamic simulations of fluctuation dynamos in turbulent flows with rms Mach numbers $\mathcal {M}_{\rm rms}= 0.2, 1.1$, and 3, we show that magnetic pressure forces play a ...crucial role in dynamo saturation in supersonic flows. First, as expected when pressure forces oppose compression, an increase in anticorrelation between density and magnetic field strengths obtains even in subsonic flows with the anticorrelation arising from the intense but rarer magnetic structures. In supersonic flows, due to stronger compressive motions density and magnetic field strength continue to maintain a positive correlation. However, the degree of positive correlation decreases as the dynamo saturates. Secondly, we find that the unit vectors of ∇ρ and ∇B2 are preferentially antiparallel to each other in subsonic flows. This is indicative of magnetic pressure opposing compression. This antiparallel alignment persists in transonic and supersonic flows at dynamo saturation. However, compressive motions also lead to the emergence of a parallel alignment in these flows. Finally, we consider the work done against the components of the Lorentz force and the different sources of magnetic energy growth and dissipation. We show that while in subsonic flows, suppression of field line stretching is dominant in saturating the dynamo, the picture is different in supersonic flows. Both field line stretching and compression initially amplifies the field. However, growing magnetic pressure opposes further compression of magnetic flux which tends to reduce the compressive motions. Simultaneously, field line stretching also reduces. But, suppression of compressive amplification dominates the saturation of the dynamo.
The epigenome is sensitive to the availability of metabolites that serve as substrates of chromatin-modifying enzymes. Links between acetyl-CoA metabolism, histone acetylation, and gene regulation ...have been documented, although how specificity in gene regulation is achieved by a metabolite has been challenging to answer. Recent studies suggest that acetyl-CoA metabolism is tightly regulated both spatially and temporally to elicit responses to nutrient availability and signaling cues. Here we discuss evidence that acetyl-CoA production is differentially regulated in the nucleus and cytosol of mammalian cells. Recent findings indicate that acetyl-CoA availability for site-specific histone acetylation is influenced through post-translational modification of acetyl-CoA-producing enzymes, as well as through dynamic regulation of the nuclear localization and chromatin recruitment of these enzymes.
Global levels of histone acetylation are responsive to acetyl-CoA abundance. Acetyl-CoA production has been shown to modulate transcriptional responses in various conditions and cell types, although the mechanisms underlying specificity of gene regulation by acetyl-CoA have been unclear.
Despite the permeability of nuclear pores to acetyl-CoA, recent metabolic evidence suggests that nuclear and cytosolic pools of acetyl-CoA may be, in large part, functionally distinct.
The acetyl-CoA-producing enzymes ATP-citrate lyase, acyl-CoA synthetase short-chain family member 2 (ACSS2), and the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex are present in the nucleus, and the nuclear accumulation of each of these enzymes is regulated by specific stimuli.
Recent studies have found that ACSS2 is recruited to chromatin, where it facilitates local histone acetylation and gene regulation.
