A cross section of the process e+e−→π+π−π+π− has been measured using 6798±93 signal events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.8 pb−1 collected with the CMD-3 detector ...in the center-of-mass energy range 920–1060 MeV. The measured cross section exhibits a pattern of interference of the ϕ(1020)→π+π−π+π− decay with a non-resonant process e+e−→π+π−π+π−, from which we obtain the branching fraction of the doubly suppressed decays (by G-parity and OZI rule): B(ϕ→π+π−π+π−)=(6.5±2.7±1.6)×10−6.

. Since processes of electron–positron annihilation that involve the production of multihadron states proceed through several intermediate states, their analysis is necessary for the correct description of the emission-angle and invariant-mass distributions of product particles.

The Muon g − 2 Experiment at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) has measured the muon anomalous precession frequency ωam to an uncertainty of 434 parts per billion (ppb), statistical, and ...56 ppb, systematic, with data collected in four storage ring configurations during its first physics run in 2018. When combined with a precision measurement of the magnetic field of the experiment's muon storage ring, the precession frequency measurement determines a muon magnetic anomaly of aμ ( FNAL ) = 116 592 040 ( 54 ) × 10−11 (0.46 ppm). This article describes the multiple techniques employed in the reconstruction, analysis, and fitting of the data to measure the precession frequency. It also presents the averaging of the results from the 11 separate determinations of ωam, and the systematic uncertainties on the result.

A search for the process e+e−→η′(958) in the π+π−η→π+π−γγ final state has been performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e− collider. Using an integrated luminosity of 2.69 pb−1 collected ...at the center-of-mass energy Ec.m.=957.68 MeV we set an upper limit for the product of electronic width and branching fractions Γη′(958)→e+e−⋅Bη′(958)→π+π−η⋅Bη→γγ<0.00041 eV at 90% C.L.

In 2007, at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (Novosibirsk), the construction of the VEPP-2000 electron-positron collider was completed. The first electron beam was injected into the accelerator ...structure with turned-off solenoids of the final focus. This mode was used to tune all subsystems of the facility and to train the vacuum chamber using synchrotron radiation at electron currents of up to 150 mA. The VEPP-2000 structure with small beta functions and partially turned-on solenoids was used for the first testing of the “round beams” scheme at an energy of 508 MeV. Beam-beam effects were studied in strong-weak and strong-strong modes. Measurements of the beam sizes in both cases showed a dependence corresponding to model predictions for round colliding beams. Using a modernized SND (spherical neutral detector), the first energy calibration of the VEPP-2000 collider was performed by measuring the excitation curve of the phimeson resonance; the phi-meson mass is known with high accuracy from previous experiments at VEEP-2M. In October 2009, a KMD-3 (cryogenic magnetic detector) was installed at the VEPP-2000 facility, and the physics program with both the SND and LMD-3 particle detectors was started in the energy range of 1–1.9 GeV. This first experimental season was completed in summer 2010 with precision energy calibration by resonant depolarization.

One approach to obtain a cryptographically strong encryption gamma is to use linear-feedback shift registers defined by primitive polynomials. The ability to quickly select the appropriate ...polynomial can provide the required degree of security of the stream cipher. Currently, primitive polynomials for sufficiently large degrees are known, but usually these are so-called sparse polynomials. To increase the correlational stability, it is necessary to be able to quickly generate new primitive polynomials of the given degrees, which is the focus of this study.

We studied the possibility of using 4-hexylresorcinol to increase the efficiency of anti-mycobacterial chemotherapy. In an
in vitro
experiment, 4-hexylresorcinol increased the efficiency of ...rifampicin, kanamycin, and isoniazid against
Mycobacterium smegmatis
by 3-5 times. Experiments in sanitation of BALB/c mice infected with
M. smegmatis
showed the best efficacy of the isoniazid and 4-hexylresorcinol combination in comparison with isoniazid monotherapy. The growth-inhibiting activity of the combination of antibiotic rifabutin with 4-hexylresorcinol was shown on 6 strains of
M. tuberculosis
. A 2-fold decrease in the minimum inhibitory concentration of this antibiotic in the presence of half-minimum inhibitory concentration of 4-hexylresorcinol was demonstrated for monoresistant strain

. On the mouse model of experimental tuberculosis caused by

H37Rv, a 5-fold decrease in lung contamination and more rapid complete cure were achieved in animals treated with the combination of rifabutin and 4-hexylresorcinol in comparison with rifabutin monotherapy.
