To achieve plasmonically induced transparency (PIT), general near-field plasmonic systems based on couplings between localized plasmon resonances of nanostructures rely heavily on the well-designed ...interantenna separations. However, the implementation of such devices and techniques encounters great difficulties mainly to due to very small sized dimensions of the nanostructures and gaps between them. Here, we propose and numerically demonstrate that PIT can be achieved by using two graphene layers that are composed of a upper sinusoidally curved layer and a lower planar layer, avoiding any pattern of the graphene sheets. Both the analytical fitting and the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) method are employed efficiently to distinguish the induced window, which is found to be more likely caused by Autler-Townes splitting (ATS) instead of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). Besides, our results show that the resonant modes cannot only be tuned dramatically by geometrically changing the grating amplitude and the interlayer spacing, but also by dynamically varying the Fermi energy of the graphene sheets. Potential applications of the proposed system could be expected on various photonic functional devices, including optical switches, plasmonic sensors.
Tennis is an important sporting event. In China, the number of people who study and participate in tennis can be said to be quite large, but there are not many people who insist on playing tennis in ...the end. Some coaches and tennis groups have come up with a number of different teaching styles in order to keep tennis players going. Its main features are as follows: To cultivate students’ interest in learning, the sequence of strokes in tennis is used for teaching. Although tennis has no special requirements for the physical condition of the athlete, tennis is a relatively difficult sport to master. What is lacking at present is more effective and simpler teaching methods, so training should be carried out in a targeted manner in the tennis baseline stroke technique. In order to make the tennis baseline stroke teaching more intuitive and easy to learn, this paper applies the neural network learning algorithm to the research and analysis of the tennis baseline stroke technique and proposes the core technology of the tennis baseline stroke technique. On this basis, the key techniques of tennis baseline stroke technique are discussed. Based on this, a basic model based on deep convolutional neural network is proposed. The experimental results show that the forehand scores of the three throwing methods in the experimental group are 6.47 and 7.28, respectively, which is better than the control group. The three throwing methods are self-throwing, close throwing, and long throwing. It shows that the teaching method in this paper can greatly improve the students’ tennis baseline hitting skills.
Phytoplankton assimilation and microbial oxidation of ammonium are two critical conversion pathways in the marine nitrogen cycle. The underlying regulatory mechanisms of these two competing processes ...remain unclear. Here we show that ambient nitrate acts as a key variable to bifurcate ammonium flow through assimilation or oxidation, and the depth of the nitracline represents a robust spatial boundary between ammonium assimilators and oxidizers in the stratified ocean. Profiles of ammonium utilization show that phytoplankton assemblages in nitrate-depleted regimes have higher ammonium affinity than nitrifiers. In nitrate replete conditions, by contrast, phytoplankton reduce their ammonium reliance and thus enhance the success of nitrifiers. This finding helps to explain existing discrepancies in the understanding of light inhibition of surface nitrification in the global ocean, and provides further insights into the spatial linkages between oceanic nitrification and new production.

A plant growth-promoting Neorhizobium huautlense T1-17 was evaluated for its immobilization of Cd and Pb in solution. Meanwhile, the impacts of T1-17, immobilizers (vermiculite and peat) and their combination on the fruit biomass and heavy metal accumulation of hot pepper were characterized. T1-17 could significantly reduced water-soluble Cd and Pb in solution. T1-17, vermiculite+T1-17, peat, and peat+T1-17 significantly increased the fruit biomass (ranging from 45% to 269%) and decreased the fruit Cd (ranging from 66% to 87%) and Pb (ranging from 30% to 56%) contents and water-soluble Cd and Pb (ranging from 23% to 59%) contents of the rhizosphere soils compared to the controls. T1–17+vermiculite or peat had higher ability to increase the fruit biomass than T1-17 or vermiculite or peat. Furthermore, T1–17+peat had higher ability to reduce the water-soluble Cd and Pb contents of the rhizosphere soil and the fruit Pb uptake of hot pepper. The results showed that T1-17 and the immobilizers alleviated the heavy metal toxicity and decreased the fruit heavy metal uptake of hot pepper. The results also showed the synergistic effects of T1-17 and the immobilizers on the growth and Cd and Pb accumulation of hot pepper.

Hydroxyl radical (•OH) with strong oxidation capability is one of the most important reactive oxygen species. The generation of •OH from superoxide radicals (•O2−) is an important process in ...visible‐light‐driven photocatalysis, but the conversion generally suffers from slow reaction kinetics. Here, a hydrophobicity promoted efficient •OH generation in a visible‐light‐driven semiconductor‐mediated photodegradation reaction is reported. Hydrophobic TiO2 that is synthesized by modifying the TiO2 surface with a thin polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) layer and rhodamine B (RhB) are used as model semiconductors and dye molecules, respectively. The surface hydrophobicity resulted in the formation of a solid–liquid–air triphase interface microenvironment, which increased the local concentration of O2. In the meanwhile, the saturated adsorption quantity of RhB on hydrophobic TiO2 is improved by five‐fold than that on untreated TiO2. These advantages increased the density of the conduction band photoelectrons and •O2− generation, and stimulated the conversion of •O2− to •OH. This consequently not only increased the kinetics of the photocatalytic reaction by an order of magnitude, but also altered the oxidation route from conventional decolorization to mineralization. This study highlights the importance of surface wettability modulation in boosting •OH generation in visible‐light‐driven photocatalysis.

The scavenging and detection of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) decomposition products (SO2, H2S, SO2F2, SOF2) critically matters to the stable and safe operation of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) ...equipment. In this paper, the Rh-doped nitrogen vacancy boron nitride monolayer (Rh-VNBN) is proposed as a gas scavenger and sensor for the above products. The computational processes are applied to investigate the configurations, adsorption and sensing processes, and electronic properties in the gas/Rh-VNBN systems based on the first-principle calculations. The binding energy (Eb) of the Rh-VNBN reaches −8.437 eV, while the adsorption energy (Ead) and band gap (BG) indicate that Rh-VNBN exhibits outstanding adsorption and sensing capabilities. The density of state (DOS) analysis further explains the mechanisms of adsorption and sensing, demonstrating the potential use of Rh-VNBN in sensors and scavengers of SF6 decomposition products. This study is meaningful as it explores new gas scavengers and sensors of SF6 decomposition products to allow the operational status assessment of GIS equipment.

Tree-based machine learning techniques, such as Decision Trees and Random Forests, are top performers in several domains as they do well with limited training datasets and offer improved ...interpretability compared to Deep Neural Networks (DNN). However, these models are difficult to optimize for fast inference at scale without accuracy loss in von Neumann architectures due to non-uniform memory access patterns. Recently, we proposed a novel analog content addressable memory (CAM) based on emerging memristor devices for fast look-up table operations. Here, we propose for the first time to use the analog CAM as an in-memory computational primitive to accelerate tree-based model inference. We demonstrate an efficient mapping algorithm leveraging the new analog CAM capabilities such that each root to leaf path of a Decision Tree is programmed into a row. This new in-memory compute concept for enables few-cycle model inference, dramatically increasing 10

SF6 is a common insulating medium of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). However, it is inevitable that SF6 will be decomposed due to partial discharge (PD) in GIS, which will cause hidden dangers to the ...safe and stable operation of equipment. Based on the DFT method, the two-dimensional nano-composite As-doped h-BN (As-BN) monolayer was proposed. By modeling and calculating, the ability of an As-BN monolayer as a specific sensor for SO2F2 (compared with an H2O adsorption system and CO2 adsorption system) was evaluated by parameters such as the binding energy (Eb), adsorption energy (Eads), transfer charge (ΔQ), geometric structure parameters, the total density of states (TDOS), band structure, charge difference density (CDD), electron localization function (ELF), sensitivity (S), and recovery time (τ). The results showed that an As-BN monolayer showed strong adsorption specificity, high sensitivity, and short recovery time for SO2F2 gas molecules. Therefore, the As-BN monolayer sensor has great application potential in the detection of SF6 decomposition gases.

To determine whether interrupting prolonged sitting with three different activity breaks has both acute and chronic effects on postprandial lipid metabolism immediately after the activity‐break ...period and on the following day, this study is a secondary analysis of an experimental research, which included 16 sedentary healthy adults (7 men, 24 ± 3 years, BMI 22.2 ± 2.3 kg/m2) who completed four 26‐h laboratory trials. Participants spent 22.5 hours in a whole room calorimeter for testing energy expenditure (EE), including a 9‐h activity‐break period: (a) 9‐h prolonged sitting (SIT); (b) 3 minutes of brisk walking (60% VO2max) in between every 30‐min sitting bout (WALK3), (c) 5 minutes every 45‐min (WALK5), and (d) 8 minutes every 60‐min (WALK8). Total area under the curve (tAUC) and incremental AUC (iAUC) for 2‐h postprandial serum triglyceride (TG) levels and non‐esterified fatty acid (NEFA) levels were examined immediately after the 9‐h trial (post‐dinner) and the next morning (post‐breakfast). WALK8 reduced the post‐breakfast TG tAUC by 11% (P = .041) relative to SIT, and the effect was attenuated after adjustment for EE. The tAUC and iAUC indicated no significant treatment effects on post‐dinner TG and NEFA, and post‐breakfast NEFA in any of the activity‐break trials. EE was positively associated with the post‐breakfast NEFA iAUC (unstandardized β = 0.17 µmol/L/MJ 0.05‐0.28, P = .006). There was a chronic effect of interrupting sitting with short bouts (8 minutes) of brisk walking every 60 minutes on postprandial lipemia the following morning after intervention, and higher activity bout‐induced EE may be more effective in sedentary, healthy adults.
