The history of the discovery of delayed nuclear fission is presented, and the retrospective of investigations into this phenomenon that were performed at various research centers worldwide is ...outlined. The results obtained by measuring basic delayed-fission features, including the fission probability, the total kinetic energy of fission fragments, and their mass distributions, are analyzed. Recommendations concerning further studies in various regions of nuclear map with the aim of search for atomic nuclei undergoing delayed fission are given. Lines of further research into features of delayed fission with the aim of solving current problems of fission physics are discussed
The results of experiments devoted to studying fusion and transfer reactions in beams of loosely bound (
3
He) and cluster (

Li,

Li) nuclei, as well as nuclei that have a halo structure (
6
He ...and
8
He), with nuclei of light and heavy elements are generalized. Special features in the behavior of cross sections for the formation of evaporation residues and transfer-reaction products at energies near the barrier are revealed. The behavior of cross sections for nucleon- and cluster-transfer reactions leads to different populations of single-particle and collective states in target-like nuclei. The effect of various channels of nuclear reactions involving light nuclei on the population of the

),

) pairs of isomeric states is considered. The values of the isomeric ratios (

Delayed fission of atomic nuclei was discovered in 1966. It is observed primarily in odd–odd nuclei for which the energy released in beta decay (
K
capture) is commensurate with the fission barrier ...in the nucleus formed after this process. Delayed fission was found in four nuclide regions: neutrondeficient isotopes in the Pb region, neutron-deficient isotopes in the Ac and Pa regions, and neutrondeficient and neutron-rich isotopes of transuranium elements. In the wake of investigations into the properties of isotopes of superheavy transuranium elements, numerous calculations were performed in order to determine the masses of new nuclei and to predict their decay properties. Explored and predicted properties of superheavy-element nuclides, where, for some odd–odd nuclei of transuranium elements, the
K
-capture energy is commensurate with the fission barriers in the corresponding daughter nuclei formed after
K

The differential cross sections for alpha-particle emission at an angle of 0
in the reactions induced by a 6-MeV/nucleon
Fe beams incident to
U and
Ta targets were measured versus the alpha-particle ...energy by means of a high-resolution magnetic analyzer (MAVR setup). The resulting spectra were found to contain fast alpha particles of energy corresponding to the two- and three-body exit reaction channels, including alpha particles of energy close to the two-body kinematical limit. The data obtained in this experiment were analyzed on the basis of the moving-source model. The emission of nonequilibrium alpha particles in the forward direction from the heavier target nucleus upon the complete or incomplete fusion of nuclei was revealed within the time-dependent quantum approach.

Ta reaction at the ...projectile energy of 10 MeV per nucleon were measured at the MAVR facility. The yield of reaction products is analyzed theoretically in the finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation (FR-DWBA method) by means of the FRESCO code. The theoretical differential cross sections are calculated for sequential neutron transfer. The contributions of the mechanisms of sequential neutron transfer and dineutron-cluster transfer to the production cross sections for the neutron-rich oxygen isotopes
