This indicates that the charge exchange reactions are of peripheral nature. The angular differential cross sections for the triton emission upon the population of the ground and excited states in

Although bipolar jets are seen emerging from a wide variety of astrophysical systems, the issue of their formation and morphology beyond their launching is still under study. Our scaled laboratory ...experiments, representative of young stellar object outflows, reveal that stable and narrow collimation of the entire flow can result from the presence of a poloidal magnetic field whose strength is consistent with observations. The laboratory plasma becomes focused with an interior cavity. This gives rise to a standing conical shock from which the jet emerges. Following simulations of the process at the full astrophysical scale, we conclude that it can also explain recently discovered x-ray emission features observed in low-density regions at the base of protostellar jets, such as the well-studied jet HH 154.

Experimental data on production of radioactive residuals in11B +209 Bi reaction a above-barrier projectile energy of 145.6 MeV are presented. The measurements and identification of reaction products ...were made using the method of induced activity. The residual nuclei in 24 < A < 211 mass range are considered as products of different interaction channels, occurring through evaporation at complete, incomplete fusion and the fission. The fragments in (60-160) atomic mass units range are regarded to the fission products and are confirmed with data from experiments with analogous fissile nuclei. The residual nuclei near target mass number can be presented as result of the different processes including emission of nucleons and light nuclei. Theoretical predictions within the frameworks of PACE-4 code simulation, allowing the predictions of formation, evaporation and fission of compound nuclei, were used for analyzing the measurement results. A substantial contribution to production of residual nuclei of the incomplete fusion and of additional mechanisms, proceeding at different impact parameters, were revealed at analysis of the experimental data.
Angular distributions of protons, deuterons, tritons and alpha particles emitted in the reaction 2H+9Be at Elab=19.5 MeV were measured with an aim to shed light on the internal cluster structure of ...9Be and to study possible cluster transfer of 5He. The analyses suggest a significant contribution of five-nucleon transfer in the reaction channel 9Be(d,4He)7Li.
Experimental cross sections for formation of 196,198Au isotopes in reactions 3,6He + 197Au and cross sections for formation of 44,46Sc isotopes in reactions 3,6He + 45Sc have been analyzed. To ...calculate neutron transfer probabilities and cross sections the time- dependent Schrödinger equation for external neutrons of 3He, 6He, 45Sc and 197Au nuclei has been solved numerically. It is shown that the contribution of fusion and subsequent evaporation is significant in the case of reactions 3,6He + 45Sc, whereas in the case of reactions 3,6He + 197Au, it is negligible. Fusion-evaporation was taken into account using NRV evaporation code. Results of calculations demonstrate overall satisfactory agreement with experimental data.
Magnetized laser-produced plasmas are central to many novel laboratory astrophysics and inertial confinement fusion studies, as well as in industrial applications. Here we provide the first complete ...description of the three-dimensional dynamics of a laser-driven plasma plume expanding in a 20 T transverse magnetic field. The plasma is collimated by the magnetic field into a slender, rapidly elongating slab, whose plasma-vacuum interface is unstable to the growth of the "classical," fluidlike magnetized Rayleigh-Taylor instability.

Inclusive energy spectra have been measured for light charged particles emitted in the bombardment of Ta target by48Ca ions at 261 MeV and 471 MeV. The reaction products were analyzed and detected by ...means of a (∆E-E) telescope placed in the focal plane of a magnetic spectrometer located at forward angles with respect to the beam direction. In all the reactions studied light charged particles with an energy close to the respective calculated kinematic limit for a two-body exit channel are produced with relatively great probability. The results obtained make it possible to draw some conclusions about the reaction mechanism involving the emission of light charged particles.
This paper discusses one type of power generators—a disk explosive generator with flat disk elements and metal inserts. A technique of numerical simulation of the operation of this generator is ...proposed. The principle of operation and the design of the disk explosive magnetic generator are described. The results of calculations and experiments are presented.
