This research communicates the thermal assessment of Sutterby nanofluid containing the gyrotactic microorganisms with solutal and Marangoni boundaries. The applications of melting phenomenon and ...thermal conductivity are also considered. The flow is confined by a stretched cylinder. The prospective of Brownian motion and thermophoresis diffusions are also taken account via Buongiorno nanofluid model. The problem is formulated with help of governing relations and equations which are altered into dimensionless form via appropriate variables. The numerical scheme based on shooting scheme is employed to access the solution. A comparative analysis is performed to verify the approximated solution. The observations reveal that the velocity profile enhanced with the Marangoni number while a declining velocity profile has been observed with Sutterby nanofluid parameter and Darcy resistance parameter. The nanofluid temperature get rise with thermal conductivity parameter and thermal Biot number. An arising profile of nanofluid concentration is observed for concentration conductivity parameter and buoyancy ratio parameter.

This analysis reports an unsteady and incompressible flow of Williamson nanoliquid in presence of variable thermal characteristics are persuaded by a permeable stretching cylinder. The flow field ...investigation is established with the effect of mixed convection and non-uniform heat source/sink on flow and heat transfer. On the cylinder surface, the analysis is inspected with utilization of zero mass flux constraints. By using the appropriate similarity variables, the framed equations for the energy, momentum and mass is converted into non-linear ODEs. The numerical communication of the boundary value problem is successfully implemented using a computer algorithm programmed into the fifth Runge-Kutta scheme. Additionally, the wall shear factor and rate of heat transfer are calculated in two different cases namely, with curvature and without curvature. In addition, the results obtained are confirmed by making comparisons with previously published articles and we found an excellent match that guarantees the indemnity of current communication. A comprehensive change in velocity, temperature and concentration is examined for involved parameters like local Weissenberg number, space dependent heat source constant, magnetic number, curvature constant, thermophoretic parameter, buoyancy parameter, Brownian motion parameter, Prandtl number, Schmidt number, unsteadiness parameter, reaction rate parameter, activation energy parameter and temperature difference parameter. A reduction in velocity is observed for unsteady parameter and buoyancy constant. An enhanced nanofluid temperature is noted for space dependent heat source parameter, time dependent heat source parameter and unsteady parameter. Moreover, the nanofluid concentration is increases for temperature difference parameter while reverse observations are noticed for chemical reaction rate.

Sequel to all the published facts on the dynamics of water and ethylene glycol on a convectively heated surface conveying alumina and copper nanoparticles as applicable in engineering and industry, ...noting is known on the significance of haphazard motion and thermo-migration. For the case of Al2O3/Cu nanoparticles, the governing equations that model the transport phenomena along a vertical surface were non-dimensionalized. The obtained dimensionless equation (ODE BVP) was numerically solved in MATLAB using the text bvp4c in-built solver. The temperature distribution is minimal when convectively heating at the horizontal wall beneath the transport phenomenon is small in magnitude. When Biot number and thermo-migration are high, and the base fluid is less thick, there is minimal friction between the wall and the last layer of hybrid nanofluid due to increasing haphazard motion of alumina/copper nanoparticles (i.e., water). Heating of the base fluid is a factor for reducing friction as water is heated faster due to lower density than ethylene glycol.

To improve the heat efficiency base fluids (water, engine oil, glycol), the interaction of nanoparticles (nanotubes, droplets, nanowires, metals and non-metals) into such traditional liquids is the ...most frequent mechanism and attained the researchers attention, especially in current decade. The nanofluid is a suspension of submerged solid particles in base fluids. The nano-materials convinced the applications in the field of nanotechnology, thermal engineering, industrial and bio-engineering. Following to such motivating applications in mind, current research reports the stagnation point flow of radiative micropolar nanofluid over an off centered rotating disk with applications of motile microorganisms. The novel dynamic of thermal radiation and activation energy are also incorporated. The appropriate transformations are utilized to reduce the partial differential equations into dimensionless forms. A numerical shooting scheme is used to obtain the approximate solution with MATLAB software. The effects of prominent parameter on velocity profile, nanofluid temperature, concentration of nanoparticles and microorganism profile are physically incorporated.

•New information on the antioxidants of fruit seeds.•Multiple methods for the measurement of total antioxidant capacity were highlights.•This study supplied much new information for researches of ...food and pharmaceuticals.•The relations between antioxidant capacities and total phenolic content were studied
In order to find new sources of natural antioxidants, total phenolic contents and antioxidant capacities of 11 fruit seeds before and after in vitro digestion were evaluated by Folin–Ciocalteu method, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity assay (DPPH), ferric reducing antioxidant power assay (FRAP), and ABTS•+ scavenging activity (ABTS) assay, respectively. The correlations between DPPH, FRAP, ABTS values and total phenolic contents were also evaluated. The results showed that 11 fruit seeds had diverse antioxidant capacities and the variation was very large. Furthermore, the main compounds of 11 fruit seeds were identified and quantified. Four fruit seeds, Dimocarpus longgana Lour, Vitis vinifera Linn (red), Vitis vinifera Linn (black), and Litchi chinensis Sonn showed the strongest antioxidant activities whether before or after digestion, which implied that these fruit seeds are important natural sources for preventing oxidative stress diseases.

The current analysis deals with the nanofluid flow over a vertical thin needle having gyrotactic microorganisms. Further, the incompressible liquid is electrically conducted in the existence of ...magnetic field. The important effect of thermophoresis and Brownian motion has been involved in the model of nanofluid. The system of dimensionless form of ordinary differential equations (ODE's) are obtained by applying appropriate transformations to the formulated problem defined by the system of partial differential equations (PDE's). Later, these reduced ODE's are tackled numerically by using Runge–Kutta-based shooting process. Finally, keeping in view of physical significance of flow parameters, the graphical analysis for prominent parameters is portrayed and discussed in detail. The outcome exposed that the velocity gradient reduces for rising values of magnetic and buoyancy ratio parameter. The upsurge in Biot number and radiation parameter enhances the heat passage. The motile microorganisms density number improves for growing values of Lewis number and declines for improved values of Peclet number.

To investigate the relation of inflammation-related parameters and pregnancy outcome in women with the early threatened abortion.
630 women with early threatened abortion were divided into two groups ...based on the pregnancy outcome. All of them had the blood routine examination before treating. The differences between two groups were analyzed by the Chi-squared test, Student T test, Mann-Whitney U test, Binary Logistic Regression, Marginal Structural Model and Threshold effect analysis.
We found that there is no significant difference in the pregnancy outcome for NLR (OR:0.92, CI95%:0.72, 1.17) and PLR (OR:1.00, CI%:0.99, 1.01). However, a difference had a statistical significance in the pregnancy outcome when LMR less than 2.19 (OR:0.39, CI95%:0.19,0.82).
This study suggested that higher LMR was related to the lower risk of miscarriage in the women with early threatened abortion in a way.

This study investigates the effects of using the rotating twisted tapes on fluid flow, heat transfer, and thermal performance of a duct flow. The section of the channel is oval and with two rotating ...twisted tapes. The twisted tapes are analyzed in fixed and rotating cases with three different rotational speeds. The flow regime is laminar with Re = 50 to 1000 and heat flux of 5000 Wm−2 was applied to the outer surface of the wall. The height of twisted tapes is equivalent to 90% of the channel height which creates the secondary flow. The simulation results suggest that increasing the Re number increases both the Nu number and the pumping power, and increasing the Re number increases the Nu number in all cases. At each Re number, the lowest and the highest increments resulted by using the tapes are for cases of stationary and rotating tapes with maximum speed, respectively. Using the twisted tapes increases the average Nu number by 24 to 179% and pumping power requirement by 50 to 250% for the same Re numbers. The value of FOM is less than 1 in the case of using fixed tapes while it is above 1 for the rotating tape. The highest value of FOM is 1.55 which is for the highest rotating speed at the lowest inlet velocity.
