To analyze the clinical features of audiological and vestibular function in a Chinese family with late onset autosomal dominant nonsyndromic sensorineural hearing loss.
Comprehensive audiological and ...vestibular evaluation including pure tone audiometry, auditory brainstem response (ABR), electrocochleogram (EcochG), oculomotor testing, caloric tests, rotational testing, computerized dynamic posturography and vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP) were conducted to identify the hearing and vestibular impairment.
All affected family members shared sensorineural hearing loss with full penetrance starting between the second and fifth decade of life as a high frequency loss which progresses to a severe to profound loss at the sixth to seventh decade. The extensive vestibular evaluation indicated that all affected members performed normally in computerized dynamic posturography and caloric testing. Impairment of the saccular otolith in all of six affected members was suggested by results of the VEMP test. The
By the engineering background of Datong-Xian Passenger Dedicated Railway Line passing through the collapsible loess area, four representative test sections such as roadbed-bridge transition section, ...roadbed-culvert transition section, ordinary and special embankment section was selected. Different pile parameter and pile plane layout and subgrade filling measure has been taken according to the different test sections. At the same time, the correspondence of settlement monitoring project was carried out. After the long time monitoring, by the hyperbolic curve and logarithmic method predicting, the long-term settlement has been predicted. The monitoring results and the curve fitting shows that the settlement and the foundation treatment schemes with subgrade filling measurement meet the design requirement also provided reference and reference for other engineering.
Vehicle scheduling problem is a common problem in trucking industry. Because of the existence of a large number of constraints, it is difficult to obtain the optimal solution. This issue has been an ...NP difficult problem. In this paper, we will both establish bi-objective vehicle scheduling model with the goal that shortest vehicle Run and least number of vehicles and solve this problem using of genetic algorithm. Practical application justify that the model and algorithm can quickly obtain the optimal solution of the problem.
To study the physiological characteristics and cardiac electrophysiology of the "desert people" in Taklimakan Desert, an isolated population of Uygurs.
Two hundred and twenty-four out of the 1030 ..."desert people", 133 males aged 37.8 +/- 17.5 (15-99) and 91 females aged 34.1 +/- 12.1 (27-85), underwent measurement of height, body weight, waist circumference, and blood pressure. Twelve-lead resting electrocardiogram was obtained and Minnesota coding was conducted. 150 Kariya Uygurs, 76 males aged 50.7 +/- 15.6 (27-85) and 75 females aged 46.6 +/- 11.7 (24-69) were used as controls.
The abnormal Minnesota coding rate in the "desert people" as a whole was 46.0%, significantly higher than that of the controls (35.1%, P < 0.05). In the "desert people", the abnormal Minnesota coding rate was 54.9% in the males, significantly higher than that in the females (33.0%, P < 0.05). In the control group, the abnormal coding rate was 28.0% in the females and 42.1% in the males. The ECG high left R amplitude rate (code 3-1, 3
Taking YTO construction machinery CO.LTD for example, this paper applies SLP (Systematic Layout Planning) and SHA (Systematic Handling Analysis) to optimized design the general layout. After getting ...the preliminary general layout scheme, it analyses the layout and logistics status of the plant. Through the drawing of Material Flow-Distance Chart and the analysis of the integrated relationship between operation units, it re-adjusts the relative position of each operation unit. Finally the optimization layout scheme is offered and the optimized design of the general layout of YTO construction machinery CO.LTD is completed.
Background Recently, the number of patients with prostate cancer who needed to be treated with radical prostatectomy increased rapidly in China. There is still a difference between clinical staging ...and the post-operative final pathologic staging; hence, an excellent tool for accurately predicting the pathologic stages of prostate cancer is needed urgently in clinical practice. The Partin tables are the most popular and widely used tool for predicting the pathologic stages of prostate cancer because of its high accuracy and ease of implementation. The aim of this study was to externally validate the accuracy of the three versions of the Partin tables in predicting the post-operative pathologic stages in Chinese patients with prostate cancer. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the data from 203 patients with prostate cancer who underwent radical prostatectomies between June 2000 and May 2012. The accuracies of the three versions of the Partin tables in predicting the post-operative pathologic stages in Chinese patients with prostate cancer were evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC).
To explore the relationship between genetic polymorphisms of C-344T in the promoter region and K173R in the exon 3 of aldosterone synthase gene (CYP11B2) and the incidence of essential hypertension ...in a northern Chinese Han population.
We conducted a case-control study including 182 hypertensive patients and 189 healthy controls in Harbin newspaper office and assayed the genotypes of C-344T and K173R using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and direct sequencing technology.
The distributions of C-344T and K173R genotype frequencies in men and women were in accordance with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The differences of C-344T allele and genotype as well as K173R allele frequency distributions between hypertensive patients and healthy controls were not statistically significant in men and women and pooled population (P > or = 0.05). The difference of K173R genotype frequency distribution reached borderline significance (P = 0.0500) and was more pronounced in women
The growth periods(GPs, from planting/emergence to reproductive stage 8(R8) of soybean cultivars vary in different ecological regions, especially in China with a very complex soybean cropping system. ...In this study, a 3-yr experimental study was undertaken in three geographical locations of China from 2008 to 2010, including the Northeast(40.66-45.85°N), Huang-Huai(34.75-38.04°N) and southern(22.82-30.60°N) eco-regions with about 250 accessions in each region to clarify the classification of maturity group(MG) and identify the cultivars with stable GP to increase the knowledge about the GP distribution of soybean cultivars in China. GPs of soybean cultivars in different eco-regions were significant different with a gradual decrease from 115-125 d in the Northeast part to the 85-100 d in the southern part of China. The geographical location was the major factor for GP of cultivars from the Northeast, while the year of planting was the major factor affecting the stability of GPs in Huang-Huai summer and southern summer soybean. AMMI2(additive main effects and multiplicativeinteraction)-Biplot analysis showed that the GPs of soybean cultivars from the Northeast eco-region have a comparatively satisfactory environmental stability. Moreover, soybean cultivars with moderate GP/MG and stable environment adaptability in different eco-regions were identified based on the linear regression and AMMI analysis, which was important for the accurate classification of soybean MGs in future. Taken together, our results reflected the genetic diversity, geographical distribution and environmental stability of the Chinese soybean GP trait. Soybean cultivars with stable GP for various Chinese eco-regions would be beneficial for Chinese soybean genetic improvement, varietal introduction, exchange, and soybean breeding program for wide adaptability.
