Jet precession has previously been proposed to explain the apparently repeating features in the light curves of a few gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). In this {\it Letter}, we further apply the precession ...model to a bright GRB 220408B by examining both its temporal and spectral consistency with the predictions of the model. As one of the recently confirmed GRBs observed by our GRID CubeSat mission, GRB 220408B is noteworthy as it exhibits three apparently similar emission episodes. Furthermore, the similarities are reinforced by their strong temporal correlations and similar features in terms of spectral evolution and spectral lags. Our analysis demonstrates that these features can be well explained by the modulated emission of a Fast-Rise-Exponential-Decay (FRED) shape light curve intrinsically produced by a precessing jet with a precession period of \(18.4 \pm 0.2\) seconds, a nutation period of \(11.1 \pm 0.2\) seconds and viewed off-axis. This study provides a straightforward explanation for the complex yet similar multi-episode GRB light curves.
To observe the effects of electroacupuncture (EA) of "Neiguan" (PC 6), "Shenmen" (HT 7), "Taiyuan" (LU 9), "Zhizheng" (SI 7) and "Sanyinjiao" (SP 6) on cardiac function in acute myocardial ischemia ...(AMI) rabbits.
A total of 60 rabbits were randomly divided into normal control, model, EA-PC6, EA-HT7, EA-LU9, EA-S17 and EA-SP6 groups. AMI model was established by intravenous administration of pituitrin. ECG, maximal ascending rate ( + dp/dt max) and maximal descending rate (- dp/dt max) of the left ventricular pressure, and left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) were recorded.
The heart rate (HR), +dp/dt max, -dp/dt max and LVSP decreased significantly after AMI (P<0.01). Compared with model group, the 4 indexes of EA-PC6, EA-HT7 and EA-S17 groups increased considerably (P<0.05, 0.01) at most time-points after AMI, and the effects of EA-PC6 and EA-HT7 were markedly better than those of EA-SI7, EA-LU9 and EA-SP6 (P<0.05, 0.01). No significant differences were found among model group, EA-LU9 and EA-SP6 groups
Both aluminum- and phosphorus-doped carbon cluster anions were produced by laser ablation on mixed powder samples. Dramatic even/odd alternation of the cluster ion signal intensity can be observed in ...their recorded mass spectra. The mass distributions reveal that the C

To investigate the effect of 5-azacytidine on XAF1 expression in myeloma cell lines RPMI8226 and XG-7 and the in vitro anti-myeloma activity of 5-azacytidine.
XAF1 mRNA and protein expression was ...detected by semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase PCR and Western blot, respectively. Methylation specific PCR (MSP) was used to detect methylation status of XAF1 promoter CpG islands. RPMI8226 and XG-7 cells were treated with 0-5 micromol/L of 5-azacytidine and Cell Counting Kit-8 colorimetric assay was used to evaluate the growth inhibitory effect. Cell apoptosis was determined with Annexin V-PE/7-AAD staining by flow cytometry.
Untreated RPMI8226 cells expressed XAF1 mRNA isoforms 1 and 2, and untreated XG-7 cells had no XAF1 expression. Hypermethylation of XAF1 promoter CpG islands was detected in both the cell lines. After treated with 2.5 micromol/L 5-azacytidine for 72 h, both the cell lines expressed full-length XAF1 transcript and protein. 5-azacytidine treatment led to XAF1 promoter CpG islands hypomethyl
InN films grown on sapphire at different substrate temperatures from 550°C to 700°C by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition were investigated. The low-temperature GaN nucleation layer with ...high-temperature annealing (1100°C) was used as a buffer for main InN layer growth. X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering measurements reveal that the quality of InN films can be improved by increasing the growth temperature to 600°C. Further high substrate temperatures may promote the thermal decomposition of InN films and result in poor crystallinity and surface morphology. The photoluminescence and Hall measurements were employed to characterize the optical and electrical properties of InN films, which also indicates strong growth temperature dependence. The InN films grown at temperature of 600°C show not only a high mobility with low carrier concentration, but also a strong infrared emission band located around 0.7 eV. For a 600 nm thick InN film grown at 600°C, the Hall mobility achieves up to 938 cm2/Vs with electron concentration of 3.9 × 1018 cm−3.

To investigate the correlation of C/T single nucleotide polymorphism at exon 17 in tyrosine kinase domain of insulin receptor gene with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
One hundred and twenty ...patients with PCOS (PCOS group) and 40 normal females (control group) were included and the 1058 site single nucleotide polymorphism at exon 17 of insulin receptor gene (INSR) was detected with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP). The baseline parameters including levels of serum follicular stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), prolactin (PRL), estradiol (E(2)), testosterone (T) and lipid, as well as the body mass index (BMI) and waist/hip ratio (WHR) were measured. Glucose tolerance and insulin releasing before and after loading with 75 g of glucose were also assayed.
(1) BMI (25 +/- 4 vs. 23 +/- 3, P < 0.01), WHR (0.82 +/- 0.06 vs. 0.79 +/- 0.07, P < 0.05), LH (9.2 +/- 6.1) U/L vs. (4.4 +/- 1.6) U/L, P < 0.01, T (1.9 +/- 0.9) nmol/L vs. (1.0 +/- 0.6) nmol/L,
To explore the impact of IL-2- and IL-15-activated donor natural killer (NK) cell infusion on graft-versus-host-disease (GVHD) and graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect post allogeneic hematopoietic ...stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT).
The C57BL/6 mice splenic NK cells were selected by microbeads, and then expanded in the media containing IL-2 and IL-15. The killing activity of NK cells was detected. In the leukemia mouse model, recipients (BALB/c) were intravenously inoculated with EL9611 leukemia cells 8 days before transplantation. Lethally irradiated BALB/c recipient mice were transplanted with 5 x 10(6) bone marrow cells (BMCs), or 5 x 10(6) BMCs plus 1 x 10(7) splenocytes with or without 1 x 10(7) activated NK cells. Additionally, NK cell infusion group mice were intraperitoneally injected with a mixture of IL-2 and IL-15 post transplant. Survival time, GVHD occurrence, lineage chimerism, TRBV spectra-typing were observed post transplant.
The purity of isolated splenic NK cells was 95.7% - 97.1%. The kil

To investigate expression difference of several drug resistance related genes between sensitive and resistant ovarian carcinoma cells.
Cell lines resistant to cisplatin, carboplatin and taxol were ...established from ovarian carcinoma cell lines of SKOV3 and A2780, and their biological features were detected. The expressions of several genes related to drug resistance were measured by RT-PCR method.
(1) The values of resistance index (RI) of resistant cells to relevant drugs were elevated 3 times or more, with different degrees of cross-resistance to several other drugs (RI 2 approximately 20). They grew more slowly than primary cells (Td elongated 1.4 approximately 2.4 times, P < 0.01) without obvious changes in G(1), G(2), and S ratios (P > 0.05). Intracellular concentrations of relevant drugs were reduced 2.0 approximately 8.5 times in resistant cells (P < 0.05). (2) p53, lung resistance protein-1 (LRP-1), multiple drug resistance related protein-1 (MRP-1) genes were expressed at lower levels in resistant cel
