Photodissociation of trinuclear carbonyl cluster compounds of Fe, Ru and Os was studied by recording the mass spectra produced from laser ablation of the cluster compounds. Under the experimental ...conditions, dissociation of the cluster compounds is very extensive, but the dissociation pathway of the osmium cluster is different from those of the iron and ruthenium clusters. The iron and ruthenium clusters not only lost their carbonyl ligands, but their cluster cores were also fragmented. As the osmium cluster dissociated, it ejected three pairs of oxygen atoms, in sequence, before losing the carbonyl ligands, but the trinuclear osmium core did not fragment. This specific dissociation scheme of the osmium cluster reveals its special structural stability. Not only does it have stronger metal-metal bonds, but also a relatively stable coordination bond formed between osmium and carbonyl ligands. In addition, different distributions of positive and negative fragment ions were observed in the experiment. This difference is interpreted as the result of different stabilities of their electronic structures.

To study the effects of gonadotropin on the expression of growth differentiation factor-9 (GDF-9) and -9B (GDF-9B) in mouse ovary.
We chose follicles of mature mice cultured in vitro and mature ...BALB/c mice as our animal models. (1) In vivo experiment. Twenty mice were divided into two groups (groups A and B) randomly with ten mice in each group. Each mouse was injected with 10 IU pregnant mare's serum gonadotropin in group A and saline of the same volume was given to the other group. Twenty-four hours later we obtained ovarian tissue and immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization were performed to detect the expression of GDF-9 and GDF-9B. (2) In vitro experiment. Fifty-eight separated follicles were divided into two groups (groups C and D) randomly and cultured in vitro. Thirty-two follicles in group C were cultured in medium with follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) for 72 hours while 26 were cultured without FSH. Immunohistochemistry was performed to detect the expression of GDF-9 in both groups.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical features of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) that are initially categorized as extraabdominal adenocarcinoma of unknown primary. ...Twenty-five patients with EOC, who were treated in the Cancer Hospital of Shanghai Medical University from January 1986 to December 1997, and manifesting as extraperitoneal or liver parenchyma metastases at the time of presentation without detectable ovarian tumors, were retrospectively studied. Sixteen patients (64%) were optimally surgical debulked. When compared with 52 other women with stage IV EOC, 20 patients who initially sought treatment for extraabdominal metastases experienced a better prognosis, with an estimated median survival of 24 months versus 10 months (p = 0.0427). The median survival was 30 months in patients with pleural effusion or supraclavicular lymph node metastases versus 19 months in those with spread to other sites (p = 0.0264). The prognosis of such cases, mainly for those with supraclavicular lymphadenopathy or malignant pleural effusion, is better than that for other stage IV EOC patients, probably because most of the patients who initially had distant metastases were generally in condition that permitted aggressive surgery or multicycle chemotherapy.
In order to study the value of sequential and quantitative analysis of chimerism in determination of optional time of donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) and prediction of efficacy of DLI, six patients ...with leukemias who relapsed or failed of engraftment were treated with DLI. Serial and quantitative analyses of donor chimerism (DC) both prior to and following DLI were performed by multiplex PCR amplification of STR markers (STR-PCR) and capillary electrophoresis with fluorescence detection. The results showed that at the time of relapse or graft rejection, STR-PCR indicated the decreasing donor chimerism in all six patients, at levels ranging from 27.3% to 85.7%. The declining value of DC (<90%) was detected in four patients at 26 days before relapse or graft rejection diagnosed clinically. Therefore the decrease of value of DC can be identified the high risk of relapse or graft failure and can be used to guide DLI implementation at early stage. In this study the clinical response were seen in two patients, the
To investigate the correlation of 4G and 5G genetypes distribution of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) gene polymorphism in its promoter region with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
In 101 ...Chinese PCOS patients and 42 women as control, 4G and 5G polymorphisms of PAI-1 gene were detected with PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP). Pregnant history, body mass index (BMI), waist-hip ratio (WHR) were collected and Homastasis Model Assessment score for insulin resistant (Homa-IR) and insulin sensitive index (ISI) in PCOS groups were calculated.
The distributions of PAI-1 gene polymorphisms 4G type (4G/4G genetype) and 5G type (5G/5G, 4G/5G genetype) were different between the PCOS group and the control. The PCOS group had higher 4G type 57% (58/101) distribution than that of the control group 38% (16/42); 5G type is vise verse (P < 0.05). PCOS patients were divided into obese and non-obese sub-groups according to BMI. There were significant lower Homa-IR and higher ISI in non-obese subgroup
The TianQin-1 satellite (TQ-1), which is the first technology demonstration satellite for the TianQin project, was launched on 20 December 2019. The first round of experiment had been carried out ...from 21 December 2019 until 1 April 2020. The residual acceleration of the satellite is found to be about \(1\times10^{-10}~{\rm m}/{\rm s}^{2}/{\rm Hz}^{1/2}\) at \(0.1~{\rm Hz}\,\) and about \(5\times10^{-11}~{\rm m}/{\rm s}^{2}/{\rm Hz}^{1/2}\) at \(0.05~{\rm Hz}\,\), measured by an inertial sensor with a sensitivity of \(5\times10^{-12}~{\rm m}/{\rm s}^{2}/{\rm Hz}^{1/2}\) at \(0.1~{\rm Hz}\,\). The micro-Newton thrusters has demonstrated a thrust resolution of \(0.1~\mu{\rm N}\) and a thrust noise of \(0.3~\mu{\rm N}/{\rm Hz}^{1/2}\) at \(0.1~{\rm Hz}\). The residual noise of the satellite with drag-free control is \(3\times10^{-9}~{\rm m}/{\rm s}^{2}/{\rm Hz}^{1/2}\) at \(0.1~{\rm Hz}\,\). The noise level of the optical readout system is about \(30~{\rm pm}/{\rm Hz}^{1/2}\) at \(0.1~{\rm Hz}\,\). The temperature stability at temperature monitoring position is controlled to be about \(\pm3~{\rm mK}\) per orbit, and the mismatch between the center-of-mass of the satellite and that of the test mass is measured with a precision of better than \(0.1~{\rm mm}\).
To evaluate the effects of panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) on the process of renal interstitial fibrosis after unilateral ureteral obstruction in rats.
In this study, female sprague-Dawley rats were ...randomly divided into 3 groups: Sham operation group (S group), Operation group (O group), and Operation plus PNS group (P group). The unilateral ureters of the rats were ligated as the operation to create renal interstitium fibrosis. The rats were sacrificed at postoperative days 3, 7, 14 and 21. After sacrifice, the obstructed kidneys of the rats were sliced to make pathological sections. The sections observed under light microscope to evaluate the results of hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining, Masson staining or proliferative cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and alpha-smooth muscle actin (alpha-SMA) detected by immunohistochemistry.
After operation, the operated rats showed progressive renal interstitium fibrosis. The expression of alpha-smooth muscle actin in renal tubular epithelial cell and interstitium increase
To investigate the effect of ultrasound-guided immature follicle aspiration (IMFA) on polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women with anovulatory infertility, such as the endocrinology of the ...patients and the basic follicles number in the ovaries, and to observe the ovarian response to human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG) stimulation and pregnancy after the therapy.
Seventy-one PCOS patients were involved in this trial, and divided into 2 groups. Thirty-seven patients of group I were primed with slight amount of hMG, the other 34 patients did not use hMG. Ultrasound-guided IMFA was performed 36 hour after human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) administration. In the next cycle, the basal endocrinology and the basic number of follicles were checked, then IMFA were performed continuously until the basic number of follicles were under 10 per ovary. Afterwards, hMG were used to stimulate ovulation and the pregnant results were followed up.
There were 37 cases (88 cycles) of PCOS patients in group I and 34 cases (87 c
To establish multiple short tandem repeat (STR) amplification by fluorescence labeling polymerase chain reaction (PCR) combined with capillary electrophoresis for quantitative determination of ...chimerism, and to evaluate the status of engraftment and predict the outcome of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT).
Thirty-one patients received bone marrow transplantation (BMT) or nonmyeloablative allogeneic stem cell transplantation (NST) were evaluated. Peripheral blood and bone marrow were co-llected before and after transplantation in different period. Nine different STR markers were co-amplified in a single reaction by using a commercial AmpF/STR Profiler Plus PCR amplification kit. Separation of the PCR products and fluorescence detection were performed by ABI prism 310 Genetic Analyzer with capillary electrophoresis. The Genescan and Genotype software were used for size calling and quantification of peak areas. The formula to calculate donor chimerism values was based on the differen
