Domain analysis has gained a lot of recognition during the past decade and continues to grow in popularity. Domain modeling encourages re-use in the development process right where re-use matters ...most, which is the requirement analysis phase itself. In today's competitive business environment, delivering a proven solution at a low cost within time requires the development to be structured around re-use. Domain analysis can be looked at from two different perspectives: either as part of the requirements engineering phase or as an activity so tightly integrated into the development process of the organization that it determines key strategies. Various domain analysis techniques help in engineering the development process around domain analysis so that it helps in maintaining software assets that can be reused in the various phases of the development process. The survey investigated how the domain analysis techniques were being used in Pakistan and revealed that there was a genera! lack of awareness among software practitioners.
This paper presents a novel idea of silicon RTOS (sRTOS), a real time operating system in silicon. By implementing RTOS functionality in hardware optimizes context switching, operating system ...overhead and interrupt latency. The sRTOS accepts priority-based interrupts from external sources and makes corresponding tasks available in ready queue waiting for their turn to take charge of CPU. A kernel implemented in hardware schedules these tasks on priority basis. Corresponding to each task register-file banks are employed for fast context switching. Resources are allocated to the tasks on priority basis. The sRTOS is integrated with AVZ2I DSP (A VAZ Inc. single MAC DSP www.avaznet.com) for applications requiring zero cycle RTOS overheads

The most recent genome-editing system called CRISPR-Cas9 (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat system with associated protein 9-nuclease) was employed to delete four non-essential ...genes (i.e., Caeco1, Caidh1, Carom2, and Cataf10) individually to establish their gene functionality annotations in pathogen Candida albicans. The biological roles of these genes were investigated with respect to the cell wall integrity and biogenesis, calcium/calcineurin pathways, susceptibility of mutants towards temperature, drugs and salts. All the mutants showed increased vulnerability compared to the wild-type background strain towards the cell wall-perturbing agents, (antifungal) drugs and salts. All the mutants also exhibited repressed and defective hyphal growth and smaller colony size than control CA14. The cell cycle of all the mutants decreased enormously except for those with Carom2 deletion. The budding index and budding size also increased for all mutants with altered bud shape. The disposition of the mutants towards cell wall-perturbing enzymes disclosed lower survival and more rapid cell wall lysis events than in wild types. The pathogenicity and virulence of the mutants was checked by adhesion assay, and strains lacking rom2 and eco1 were found to possess the least adhesion capacity, which is synonymous to their decreased pathogenicity and virulence.

Software systems evolve because user requirements change over time. Maintaining software systems is a challenge, especially when the old behavior has to be preserved while new functionality is added. ...In this paper, we extend the transformational model to the maintenance phase and call it extended transformational model. Using this extended transformational model, we develop an approach to maintain SDL (Specification and Description Language) specifications. This approach consists of enriching, in three phases, SDL specifications with new behaviors specified with another formal language, MSC (Message Sequence Charts). The approach is based on a formally defined enrichment relation that must hold between the old and the new SDL specifications.
We present an autopsy case of neonatal miliary tuberculosis in a 36-day-old baby that was born to a mother who had no symptoms. Histopathological examination of lungs revealed necrosis and numerous ...acid-fast bacilli. Mycobacterium tuberculosis hominis was isolated by guinea pig inoculation with lung tissue. Three months after delivery the mother was admitted with pleural effusion and endometrial biopsy showed a granulomatous inflammation compatible with tuberculosis. Intrauterine infection was considered and that was supported by retrospective findings of the endometrial biopsy. We also want to emphasize the importance of searching for genital tuberculosis even if the mother has no symptoms.
