We report the measurement of the direct CP asymmetry in the radiative B¯→X(s+dγ) decay using a data sample of (772 ± 11)×10(6) BBover ¯ pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector ...at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. The CP asymmetry is measured as a function of the photon energy threshold. For Eγ*≥2.1 GeV, where Eγ* is the photon energy in the center-of-mass frame, we obtain A(CP)(B¯→X(s+dγ))=(2.2±3.9±0.9)%, consistent with the standard model prediction.

A pigmented neuroendocrine tumor was discovered incidentally in a 62‐year‐old woman through examination by chest computed tomography. The tumor was located in the left lower lobe, S6, of the lung and ...was 8 mm in diameter. The preoperative percutaneous needle biopsy was interpreted as a tumor suggestive of small cell carcinoma. Histological examination of the operated lobectomy material revealed that the nodule was a neuroendocrine tumor consisting of mainly spindle‐shaped cells and several pigmented cells. Electron microscopy showed several dense‐core neurosecretory‐type granules in tumor cells, as well as abundant, pleomorphic electron‐dense granules in pigmented cells much larger in size and most consistent with lipofuscin or neuromelanin. No melanosomes or premelanosomes were identified. Considering the result of ultrastructural and histochemical studies, the pigment was considered most likely neuromelanin. Neuromelanin is found in neurons of substantia nigra and locus ceruleus, and sympathetic ganglion cells. It is rarely found in neuroendocrine tumors and we review the available reports regarding pigmented carcinoid tumor.

Dynamics of thin films of poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) have been investigated by dielectric relaxation spectroscopy in the frequency range from 0.1 Hz to 1 MHz at ...temperatures from 263 to 423 K. The alpha process, the key process of glass transition, is observed for thin films of PVAc and PMMA as a dielectric loss peak at a temperature T(alpha) in temperature domain with a fixed frequency. For PMMA, the beta process is also observed at a temperature T(beta). For PVAc, T(alpha) decreases gradually with decreasing thickness, and the thickness dependence of T(alpha) is almost independent of the molecular weight (Mw< or =2.4x10(5)). For PMMA, T(alpha) remains almost constant as thickness decreases down to a critical thickness dc, at which point it begins to decrease with decreasing thickness. Contrastingly, T(beta) decreases gradually as thickness decreases to dc, and below dc it decreases drastically. For both PVAc and PMMA, the broadening of the distribution of the relaxation times in thinner films is observed and this broadening is more pronounced for the alpha process than for the beta process. It is also observed that the relaxation strength is depressed as the thickness decreases for both the polymers.

A dual damascene Cu air-gap interconnect was investigated. To solve issues such as cost and electrical shorts from CMP scratches, a conventional CVD film was used as a sacrificial layer instead of ...the SOD film that we reported previously. The process integration, electrical characteristics and the TDDB reliability were discussed. The TDDB lifetime was drastically improved, and 4 levels of dual damascene Cu interconnects were successfully fabricated.
We report the first measurement of time-dependent CP asymmetry in B(0)-->K(S)(0)rho(0)gamma decays based on 657 x 10(6) BB pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy ...collider. We measure the CP-violating parameter S_{K_{S};{0}rho;{0}gamma}=0.11+/-0.33(stat)-0.09+0.05(syst) from a signal of 212+/-17 events. We also obtain the effective direct CP-violating parameter A{eff}=0.05+/-0.18(stat)+/-0.06(syst) for mK(S)0pi+pi- <1.8 GeV/c(2) and 0.6 GeV/c(2)<m pi+pi- <0.9 GeV/c2.

We present the results of a study of the charmless vector-vector decay B0-->omegaK*0 with 657 x 10(6) BB pairs collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. We measure the branching ...fraction to be B(B0-->omegaK*0) = 1.8+/-0.7(stat)+/-0.3(syst)x 10(-6) with 3.0sigma significance. We also perform a helicity analysis of the omega and K*0 vector mesons, and obtain the longitudinal polarization fraction fL(B0-->omegaK*0) = 0.56+/-0.29(stat) -0.08(+0.18)(syst). Finally, we measure a large nonresonant branching fraction BB0-->omegaK+pi(-);M Kpi in(0.755,1.250) GeV/c2 = 5.1+/-0.7(stat)+/-0.7(syst)x 10(-6) with a significance of 9.5sigma.
