Light-emitting diodes are budget-friendly solid-state light sources that find use in the very diverse areas: from lighting to data display devices. The history of the discovery of the ...electroluminescence phenomenon and development of the technology of inorganic (LED) and organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) is presented. Today, there has been a widespread transition to light-emitting diode sources based on inorganic semiconductors, ensuring significant energy savings. However, OLED technologies continue to undergo intensive development. Advantages of OLED over other light sources and areas of their practical use are considered. We discussed the fundamental principles of manufacturing organic light sources with a white emission spectrum, based on low-molecular-weight and polymeric compounds, and considered various approaches for developing polymeric materials with a white emission spectrum. Prospects of the development of the market of OLED light sources are evaluated.

A new anionic Co(III) complex with 2-((E)-(2-(ethylamino)-5-nitrophenylimino)methyl)-4-(phenyl diazenyl)-phenol is prepared and characterized by
1
H NMR, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The ...crystal structure of the complex is studied by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). From the single crystal XRD data it is found that in the complex, two structurally non-equivalent molecules of the doubly deprotonated ligand are tridentate-chelated by the central Co atom. The cobalt(III) ion is in a slightly distorted octahedral environment of four N and two O atoms.

New Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes with the N-{2-(E)-(4-cyclohexylphenyl)iminomethylphenyl}-4-methylbenzene-1-sulfonamide Schiff base are prepared and characterized by
1
H NMR, IR spectroscopy, and ...elemental analysis. The crystal structure of azomethine and its complexes is studied by XRD. The obtained XRD data show that two N,N-bidentate ligands are chelated to Cu(II) and Co(II) ions in both complexes and form a distorted tetrahedral environment of four nitrogen atoms around the ions.

The data based on the X-ray diffraction analysis results obtained within the recent 20 years about the coordination modes of aroyl(acyl)hydrazones of aldehydes and ketones containing chelatophoric ...groups of atoms and their photoluminescence and magnetic properties and biological activity are reviewed and generalized. The most significant earlier studies of the metal complexes with the aroyl(acyl)hydrazone ligands are also considered. This review is fruitful for researchers specialized in the target synthesis of new metal complexes of the ligands of this class aimed at manufacturing practically important materials based on these complexes.

Basic processes of the electroluminescence phenomenon in OLED structures are described. The conventional theoretical models for injection, transport and recombination of charge carriers and their ...relationship with the obtained experimental data are discussed. The mobility of charge carriers is a key characteristic of the electron and hole transport. Methods for measuring mobility that adequately reflect the transport of charge carriers in OLEDs are considered.

This paper considers latest highlights in simultaneous and follow-up optical observations of high energy astrophysical phenomena by MASTER Global Robotic Net. Such extreme Universe sources includes ...gamma-ray bursts, gravitational wave events, detected by LIGO/Virgo, fast radio bursts, high energy neutrino sources and others. Some of the neutrinos detected by ground-based facilities owe their births to supermassive black holes – blazars, which are in a special anxious state with high statistical reliability. We discovered the effect of a rapid decrease in the brightness of the blazar PKS 0735+17 at the time of the multiple detection of the high-energy neutrino event IceCube-211208A. This decrease in brightness within several hours was detected with a high confidence (SNR 10) in comparison with a multi-day brightening state of the blazar, which was accompanied not only by a maximum increase in the average brightness, but also by an increase in the amplitude of its brightness fluctuations. Additionally, we analyzed all cases of successful observation of blazars around neutrino events and obtained statistically reliable indications of the relationship between neutrino events and optical activity of blazars in the doubled error box at the 4.2
level.

We report on the earliest detection of the optical transient MASTER OT J123248.62-012924.5 coincident within the error box with the optical and X-ray transient AT2021lfa/ZTF21aayokph. In our images ...the brightness of the object rises monotonically with
confidence. We interpret this transient as a gamma-ray burst (GRB) characterized by smooth optical self-similar (SOSS) emission, while the nondetection of gamma-ray emission at space observatories is interpreted in terms of the hypothesis of a ‘‘failed’’ GRB. Thus, this is the first detection of a nonmonotonic orphan burst.

A new azomethine compound 4-methyl-N-2-pentafluorophenyliminomethyl)phenylmethylbenzenesulfamide and a Cu(II) complex based on it are obtained and characterized by
1
H NMR, IR spectroscopy and the ...elemental analysis. Crystal structures of azomethine and its complex are analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). From the single crystal XRD data it is found that the Cu(II) complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group
. The unit cell contains two crystallographically independent mononuclear molecules with similar geometries. In the complex, copper ions have a distorted tetrahedral environment of four nitrogen atoms, which is formed by two bidentate coordinated azomethine ligands. From magnetic measurements it is found that the Cu(II) complex is paramagnetic.

This review summarizes the results of the synthesis, photoluminescence, and electroluminescence of the main classes of cyclometallated iridium(III) complex compounds. The primary focus of the review ...is on heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes, which contain two equivalent C^N ligands and an additional auxiliary ligand. Numerous examples demonstrate that the selection and modification of the ligand systems in iridium(III) complexes, using various donor or acceptor groups, alter significantly their spectral characteristics, often achieving record levels of brightness and emission efficiency for OLED devices manufactured based on them.
