Abstract
This article shows recognition of biomedical time series from Body Surface Potential Mapping by means of different convolutional and recurrent neural networks models. The various kinds of ...neural networks models were examined and compared: model with 1D convolutional layer, model with Long - Short Term Memory layer and model with Gated Recurrent Unit layer.
We numerically investigate Alfvén waves propagating along an axisymmetric and non-isothermal solar flux tube embedded in the solar atmosphere. The tube magnetic field is current-free and diverges ...with height, and the waves are excited by a periodic driver along the tube magnetic field lines. The main results are that the two wave variables, the velocity and magnetic field perturbations in the azimuthal direction, behave differently as a result of gradients of the physical parameters along the tube. To explain these differences in the wave behavior, the time evolution of the wave variables and the resulting cutoff period for each wave variable are calculated and used to determine regions in the solar chromosphere where strong wave reflection may occur.

Abstract
This paper presents an image reconstruction method for reflective ultrasonic tomography. The variation of the time corresponding to the first peak for the transmitter-receiver pairs is used ...in the transmission tomography. Commonly, all the reflected packets are used in the reflective reconstruction, but here we assume that the inside of the object is either changing or has a high absorption coefficient. Classical tomography methods are based on an equation where the system matrix is not square. Therefore, inverting such a matrix is a complex task. The solution to this problem is our simple geometrical method, which is very fast and accurate. Moreover, a very high spatial resolution can be achieved. In this case, the amount of information obtained from the system is limited only by the number of transducers used for the ultrasonic measurement.
The mechanical properties of the commercial synthetic surgical threads (i.e., monofilament MonosynR and polyfilament PolysorbTM) and threads made of pure zinc and selected magnesium alloys were ...compared. Tensile and relaxation tests of fine fibers/wires without and with a surgical knot were performed on a Zwick 250 tensile machine and on the specially constructed tensile machine dedicated for ultra-thin samples. An about 50% decrease in the maximum tensile load was registered for both synthetic and Mg-based threads due to the presence of a surgical knot while only an about 10% decrease was documented for the zinc threads.
ABSTRACT
We numerically simulate emergence of a magnetic plasma blob into a solar coronal hole. This blob may be associated with granulation and therefore it has a weak magnetic field. ...Two-dimensional simulations are performed using the magnus code which solves magnetohydrodynamic equations, taking into account magnetic resistivity and thermal conduction. As a result of the interaction of the emerging blob with the ambient plasma, the magnetic lines experience reconnection with the blob getting flattened and deformed with time. Additionally, this process launches a vertical outflow of hot plasma and the chromosphere in its response increases its temperature. We perform parametric studies by varying the magnitude of the magnetic field of the blob and observing the net heating of the chromosphere. These studies are inspired by realistic simulations of granulation made with the use of two-fluid joanna code. In these simulations a number of magnetic blobs are detected in the convection zone and in the photosphere. From the numerical results, we conclude that as a result of granulation operating in a solar quiet region the emerging blob may trigger very complex dynamics in the upper regions of the solar atmosphere, and the associated outflows may be a source of heating of the chromosphere and possibly the solar corona.

This paper brings financial centres into the debate on the causes and consequences of the global financial crisis, by focusing on New York and London. It argues that the degree of commonality, ...complementarity and connectivity between the two leading global financial centres justifies the use of the term 'the New York–London axis' (the axis). It shows that the global financial crisis 2007–09 originated to large extent in the axis rather than in an abstract space of financial markets. The dominance of the axis in global finance can be easily underestimated and evidence suggests that, contrary to expectations the axis is not in decline. The main implication is that the debate on global financial reform has to take seriously the reality of global financial centres. In particular, if global finance is to change, the New York–London axis has to change.

We present the first observation of K^{-} and ϕ absorption within nuclear matter by means of π^{-}-induced reactions on C and W targets at an incident beam momentum of 1.7 GeV/c studied with HADES ...at SIS18/GSI. The double ratio (K^{-}/K^{+})_{W}/(K^{-}/K^{+})_{C} is found to be 0.319±0.009(stat)_{-0.012}^{+0.014}(syst) indicating a larger absorption of K^{-} in heavier targets as compared to lighter ones. The measured ϕ/K^{-} ratios in π^{-}+C and π^{-}+W reactions within the HADES acceptance are found to be equal to 0.55±0.04(stat)_{-0.07}^{+0.06}(syst) and to 0.63±0.06(stat)_{-0.11}^{+0.11}(syst), respectively. The similar ratios measured in the two different reactions demonstrate for the first time experimentally that the dynamics of the ϕ meson in nuclear medium is strongly coupled to the K^{-} dynamics. The large difference in the ϕ production off C and W nuclei is discussed in terms of a strong ϕN in-medium coupling. These results are relevant for the description of heavy-ion collisions and the structure of neutron stars.

The paper revisits the literatures on financial geographies, advanced business services, world cities and offshore financial centres. Linking these bodies of research, the paper argues that the ...advanced business services hold considerable power, which they exercise by operating legal and financial vehicles designed to escape the control of governmental or intergovernmental organizations through the use of offshore jurisdictions. This nexus of advanced business services and the offshore world has negative consequences for stability and equity, and represents an important area of governance failure.

The wide-angle reflection and refraction (WARR) SHIELD’21 profile carried out in 2021 crosses from SW to NE the main tectonic of Ukraine. The SHIELD’21 targeted the structure of the Earth’s crust and ...upper mantle of the southwestern margin of the East European Craton with overlying Neogene Carpathian Foredeep and Vendian-Paleozoic Volyn-Podolian Monocline, Archaean and Paleoproterozoic segments of Ukrainian Shield and Late Paleozoic Dnieper-Donets Basin. The ~650 km long profile is an extension of realized in 2014 RomUkrSeis line in Romania and Ukraine from Apuseni Mountains to southwestern Ukrainian Shield. The field work performed in 2021, included the deployment of autonomous seismic stations and drilling-explosive works. A total of 264 seismic receivers were deployed (160 DATA-CUBE and 104 TEXAN stations) with the average spacing between the observation points about 2.65 km. The sampling interval for all stations was 0.01 s. Seismic energy was generated by 10 shot points with ~50 km of distance between them and total charge in all wells 5775 kg. The SHIELD’21 experiment using TEXAN and DATA-CUBE short-period seismic stations provided high-quality seismic records. The main recorded seismic waves are the refractions of P- and S-waves in sediments, basement, crust and upper-most mantle, and reflections from crustal boundaries, Moho interface and boundaries in the uppermost mantle. Correlation of travel time arrivals of seismic waves provides calculation of the velocity model for both P- and S-waves. The main objective of the SHIELD’21 project is to get new seismic data that increase our knowledge on the lithosphere structure as well as geodynamics of the oil-and-gas-bearing and ore regions of Ukraine.
The main current of publication is focused around the issues and problems associated with the formation of composite materials with Cu matrix and reinforcing phases in the various carbon nanoforms. ...The core of the research has been focused on thermal conductivity of these composites types. This parameter globally reflects the state of the structure, quality of raw materials and the technology used during the formation of composite materials. Vanishingly low affinity of copper for carbon, multilayered forms of graphene, the existence of critical values of graphene volume in the composite are not conducive to the classic procedures of composites designing. As a result, the expected, significant increase in thermal conductivity of composites is not greater than for pure copper matrix. Present paper especially includes: (i) data of obtaining procedure of copper/graphene mixtures, (ii) data of sintering process, (iii) the results of structure investigations and of thermal properties. Structural analysis revealed the homogenous distribution of graphene in copper matrix, the thermal analysis indicate the existence of carbon phase critical concentration, where improvement of thermal diffusivity to pure copper can occur.
