The knowledge of cutting forces in various machining processes is of great importance not only for the designer-manufacturer of machine tools, but also for the user, since the cutting force governs ...cutting heat generation, tool life, and machining accuracy. In this regard, lots of investigations have been conducted on the cutting forces by developing different types of prediction models to make appropriate estimations, which are grouped into the analytical, empirical, and numerical methods. This paper conducts a survey on the development of analytical cutting force models for the orthogonal turning/cutting process. The analytical force models developed from the shear theory are detailed reviewed, and other analytical modeling methods for specially-designed tools, advanced materials, and special kinematics are also presented. The modeling laws and key challenges are also discussed for future researches.

HBV-miR-3 is encoded by HBV and takes part in pathogenesis of HBV-related liver disease. Whether HBV-miR-3 has a relationship with HBV replication and is predictive of PegIFN-α treatment response is ...still unknown. HBV-miR-3 quantification is based on qRT-PCR. The relationship of HBV-miR-3 and HBV replication, and predictive value of HBV-miR-3 were evaluated in a cohort of 650 HBeAg positive patients from a multi-center, randomized phase III clinical trial for the study of PegIFN-a2b. HBV-miR-3 is significantly positively related to HBVDNA, HBVpgRNA, HBeAg and HBsAg at baseline and at all the different time points during PegIFN-α treatment. Both univariate regression analyses and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed HBV-miR-3 is a predictor of HBeAg seroconversion in the patients treated with PegIFN-α at weeks of 0, 12, and 24. 70.0% of patients with HBV-miR-3 < 3log at week 12 achieved HBeAg seroconversion, otherwise, with HBV-miR-3 > 6log at week 12 no patient obtained HBeAg seroconversion. Conbination of HBV-miR-3 and HBeAg is more strongly predictive of HBeAg seroconversion (83.64%) at week 12. HBV-miR-3 is new biomarker for HBV replication and positively correlated to HBV replication. HBV-miR-3 is also an early predictor of HBeAg seroconversion in the patients treated with PegIFN-α.

In single-point diamond turning (SPDT), the relative vibration between the tool and the workpiece plays an important role in the surface generation, therefore affecting the achieved surface quality. ...In this paper, a surface roughness prediction model is developed under the synthetically consideration of the influences of tool-work vibration components in feeding, cutting and infeed cutting directions, on surface topography in SPDT. This study makes a theoretical investigation on the effects of three vibration components on tool locus to build a modification method for the actual tool locus. Due to the existence of tool interference induced by tool-work vibrations, two judgment criterions and an iterative calculation methodology are proposed to efficiently confirm the valid tool locus points so as to make a more precise prediction on the diamond turned surface. A series of experiments are conducted to verify the surface roughness prediction model. The experimental results show that the predicted surface roughness agrees well with the measured ones. This indicates that the developed model with three direction vibrations makes a better prediction for the single diamond turned surface.

Fengyun-3C (FY-3C) is a second-generation meteorological satellite of China that was launched on 23 September 2013. The on board Visible and Infrared Radiometer (VIRR) can be used to observe global ...sea surface temperature (SST). In this paper, the VIRR SST products are compared with MODIS SST products and buoy measurements from 2015 to 2019. The collocations of VIRR, MODIS, and buoy SST are generated separately during the day and night with the spatial window of 0.05° × 0.05°. The comparison results show that the biases of VIRR SST minus buoy SST during the day and night are −0.21 and −0.13 °C with a corresponding robust standard deviation (RSD) of 0.58 and 0.59 °C, respectively. The mean differences between VIRR and MODIS are −0.10 and 0.08 °C with RSDs of 0.53 and 0.58 °C for the daytime and nighttime, respectively. The consistency of VIRR SST accuracy from 2015 to 2019 and the dependence of VIRR SST error on SST and latitude are also investigated.

The visible and infrared scanning radiometer (VIRR) onboard the Fengyun-3C (FY-3C) meteorological satellite has 11 μm and 12 μm channels, which are capable of sea surface temperature (SST) ...observations. This study is based on atmospheric radiative transfer modeling (RTM) by applying Bayesian cloud detection theory and optimal estimation (OE) to obtain sea surface skin temperature (SSTskin) from VIRR in the Northwest Pacific. The inter-calibration of FY-3C/VIRR 11 μm and 12 μm brightness temperature (BT) is carried out using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) as the reference sensor. Bayesian cloud detection and OE SST retrieval with the calibration BT data is performed to obtain SSTskin. The SSTskin retrievals are compared with the buoy SST with a temporal window of 1 h and a spatial window of 0.01°. The bias is −0.12 °C, and the standard deviation is 0.52 °C. Comparisons of the retrieved SSTskin with the AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) SSTskin from European Space Agency Sea Surface Temperature Climate Change Initiative (ESA SST CCI) project show the bias of 0.08 °C and the standard deviation of 0.55 °C. The results indicate that the VIRR SSTskin are consistent with AVHRR SSTskin and buoy SST.

Neurodevelopmental disorder with or without autistic features and/or structural brain abnormalities (NEDASB) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder caused by a heterozygous mutation in the NOVA2 gene ...on chromosome 19q13. Here, we describe the generation and characterization of an iPSC line derived from the peripheral blood of a 7-year-old patient carrying a novel heterozygous mutation in NOVA2 (c.625 del). The iPSCs with the confirmed patient-specific mutation were demonstrated by pluripotency markers, a normal karyotype, and the ability to differentiate into three germ layers. This NOVA2-mutant iPSC line could facilitate disease modeling and therapy development studies for NEDASB.

A series of pyrene/phenanthrene‐fused furan derivatives (1–8) were synthesized by a simple condensation reaction between pyrene‐4,5‐diketone/phenanthrenequinone and substituted phenol/naphthol in the ...presence of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid in 1,2‐dichlorobenzene heated at reflux. The formed compounds can emit strong blue light in organic solvents. Additionally, the self‐assembly behaviors of two of the compounds (3 and 5) were studied through re‐precipitation method and the resulting nanostructures were characterized by UV/Vis, fluorescence spectra, and field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The findings showed that the shape and size of compounds 3 and 5 could be tuned by the ratio of THF and hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) solution in water.

A simple one-step purification process was provided to extract KGM from KF by phase separation. The results showed that appropriate temperature control was a key factor and the products were inodorous, colourless and of high purity at the optimal temperature 68°C. In this purification, soluble sugar and starch of extracted KGM were nearly clearly reduced and up to 95%, 80% (T68) of protein and ash were removed, respectively as compared with KF. Odour and transparency were improved 4 ranks and 30%, respectively. Besides, the ηapp reached 42.30Pas and increased by 93.55% as compared, which could stay at a steady level for a week. Furthermore, morphology of extracted KGM displayed regular lamellar and wrinkling distribution for removed impurities. The temperature-controlled method not only enriches the knowledge of KGM purification but also has the potential to broaden the application of KGM.

Aluminum alloy 6061(Al6061), an Al-Mg-Si alloy, is a precipitation-hardened alloy. The generation of precipitate affects its mechanical properties, and induces a worse surface finish during diamond ...cutting. The friction coefficients of the tool-chip and tool-workpiece interfaces influence temperature rise, and are therefore important predictors of tool wear and surface integrity during the diamond cutting of Al6061. This study investigated the relationship between precipitate generation and the friction coefficients of Al6061. Groups of experiments were conducted to study the influence of temperature and heating time on the number of precipitates and the friction coefficients. The results show that the generation of AlFeSi particles induces cracks, scratch marks and pits on diamond-machined Al6061 and affects the cutting forces. Moreover, the variation trend of the friction coefficient of Al6061 under different heating conditions agrees well with that of the number of AlFeSi particles. This implies that, during ultra-precision machining of precipitation-hardened alloys, cutting-induced heat causes precipitates to form on the chips and machined surface, changing their material properties. This affects the tool-workpiece and tool–chip contact conditions and the mechanisms of chip formation and surface generation in ultra-precision machining.
Fraxinellone (FRA), a major active component from Cortex Dictamni, produces hepatotoxicity via the metabolization of furan rings by CYP450. However, the mechanism underlying the hepatotoxicity of FRA ...remains unclear. Therefore, zebrafish larvae at 72 h post fertilization were used to evaluate the metabolic hepatotoxicity of FRA and to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms. The results showed that FRA (10-30 μM) induced liver injury and obvious alterations in the metabolomics of zebrafish larvae. FRA induces apoptosis by increasing the level of ROS and activating the JNK/P53 pathway. In addition, FRA can induce cholestasis by down-regulating bile acid transporters P-gp, Bsep, and Ntcp. The addition of the CYP3A inhibitor ketoconazole (1 μM) significantly reduced the hepatotoxicity of FRA (30 μM), which indicated that FRA induced hepatotoxicity through CYP3A metabolism. Targeted metabolomics analysis indicates the changes in amino acid levels can be combined with molecular biology to clarify the mechanism of hepatotoxicity induced by FRA, and amino acid metabolism monitoring may provide a new method for the prevention and treatment of DILI from FRA.
