This paper investigates the capacity of ChatGPT, an advanced language model created by OpenAI, to mitigate the side effects encountered by learners in Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) within ...higher education. A series of semi-structured interviews were conducted with six professors and three Information and Communication Technology (ICT) experts. Employing thematic analysis, the interview data were assessed, revealing that the side effects stemming from the learner and learning perspectives could be primarily categorized into cognitive, non-cognitive, and metacognitive challenges. The findings of the thematic analysis indicate that, from a cognitive standpoint, ChatGPT can generate relevant and trustworthy information, furnish personalized learning resources, and facilitate interdisciplinary learning to fully actualize learners' potential. Moreover, ChatGPT can aid learners in cultivating non-cognitive skills, including motivation, perseverance, self-regulation, and self-efficacy, as well as metacognitive abilities such as self-determination, self-efficacy, and self-regulation, by providing tailored feedback, fostering creativity, and stimulating critical thinking activities. This study offers valuable insights for integrating artificial intelligence technologies to unleash the full potential of PLEs in higher education.

To improve the corrosion resistance and load-bearing performance of titanium alloy, the TiC/Ti based composite coating with good metallurgical quality was prepared on the surface of TC4 titanium ...alloy by using Diode laser, and the effect of TiC content on the microstructures and properties of TiC/TC4 cladding was studied. The microstructure and phase constitution of the coating were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), the micro-hardness, corrosion resistance and the load-bearing performance of the coatings were evaluated. The results show that the cladding consists of TiC, TiC0.95, NiTi2 and α'-Ti, and the overall hardness of the coating fluctuates greatly. The micro-hardness in hard phases and in the heat affected zone are 1000-1500HV and about 437HV respectively. While the mass fraction of Ni coated TiC is not higher than 60%, higher corrosion resistance of claddings can be obtained with the increase of the mass fraction of Ni coated TiC, reaching a maximum at 60
Diagnosis of posterior circulation stoke is difficult, and magnetic resonance imaging especially diffusion-weighted imaging is superior to computed tomography. Persistent hiccups, sinus arrest, and ...post-hiccup syncope are extremely rare symptoms of posterior circulation stroke. However, there is no effective treatment for persistent hiccup.
We describe a case of a 58-year-old hypertensive woman diagnosed with acute posterior circulation stroke who presented with persistent hiccups, sinus arrest, and post-hiccup syncope. Diffusion-weighted imaging revealed a high-intensity signal involving the left middle cerebellar peduncle and several spotted areas in the right occipital lobe.
Permanent pacemaker was implanted and metoclopramide was used to treat persistent hiccups.
The patient developed aspiration pneumonia and morbid dysphoria, and eventually died.
Posterior circulation stroke can cause cardiovascular and respiratory dysfunction. Consequently, physicians should pay more attention to posterior circulation lesions in patients with arrhythmia and syncope. An effective method to treat persistent hiccups is urgently needed.
The NiCrMoAl/WC composite coatings with different contents of WC particles were deposited on P550 steel by laser cladding. The microstructure and magnetic properties of the coatings were ...characterized by SEM, EDS, XRD and VSM. The magnetism of phases was calculated by the first-principles based on the density functional theory. The results show that the coatings are mainly composed of γ-Ni, WC, W2C, Ni2W4C, Ni3Mo3C, Mo2C and Al4C3. The relative permeability of the coatings increases from 1.002 to 1.080 with the increase of WC percentage from 24 wt% to 60 wt%. The phases of WC, W2C, Ni2W4C and Al4C3 are non-magnetic, Ni3Mo3C and Mo2C are weakly magnetic according to the calculations. The weak magnetism of Ni3Mo3C originates mainly from the strongly correlated interaction of 3d electrons in Ni atoms, whereas that of Mo2C originates mainly from the d-state electrons of Mo atoms. The weak magnetism of the coatings (WC ≥ 48 wt%)is related to the metallurgy behaviors of WC particles. The C elements resulting from the decomposition of WC particles can be diffused into the Ni-based alloy, thus resulting in the formation of weakly magnetic phases in the cladding layer, such as Ni3Mo3C and Mo2C.

In reality, sudden updates of software, attacks of hackers, influence of the Internet market, etc. can cause a surge in the number of open-source software (OSS) faults (this moment is the time when ...impulse occurs), which results in impulsive phenomenon. For the existing software reliability models, dynamic process of software fault is considered to be continuous when assessing reliability, but continuity of the process can be disrupted with appearance of random impulses. Thus, to more accurately assess software reliability, we proposed an OSS reliability model with SIDE. In the model, dynamic process of software fault is divided into a continuous and a skipped part, described the continuous part of the process with SDE, and described destruction of the continuity caused by unpredictable random events with random impulses. Finally, the proposed model is verified with two datasets from real OSS project, and the results show that the proposed model is more in line with reality and has better fitting effect than the existing models.
The influence of Mn additions on the microstructure and magnetic properties of FeNiCr/60%WC composite coatings produced by laser cladding was investigated. The microstructure of FeNiCr/60%WC coatings ...was characterized using SEM, TEM and XRD. The magnetic properties of the composite coatings were examined by a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The valence electron structure and magnetic moments of Fe3W3C and Fe-based solid solution were calculated according to the empirical electron theory (EET) of solids and molecules. The results showed that FeNiCr/60%WC composite coatings had a high metallurgical quality, and that Mn can stabilize the austenite region and promote the formation of Cr0.19Fe0.7Ni0.11. The relative permeability decreased significantly with increasing the addition of Mn, indicating that Mn had the potential to improve the non-magnetic properties of the composite coatings. EET results revealed that Fe3W3C was a weakly ferromagnetic phase with a magnetic moment of 0.9018, which appeared to be the main factor affecting the non-magnetic properties of the coatings. In addition, given a constant amount of Ni in the Fe-Ni-Cr alloy, the average magnetic moment of the alloy decreased with increasing Mn.

The main purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of microarc oxidation (MAO) and excimer laser processing on the corrosion resistance of Zr–1Nb alloy in service environment. The ...pre-oxide film was fabricated on the surface of Zr–1Nb cladding tubes by MAO processing, and then subjected to KrF excimer laser irradiation. The surface morphology of the pre-oxide film was observed using a scanning electron microscope; phase compositions and quantities were determined using an X-ray diffraction; surface roughness was determined using a profilometer; and thermal expansion coefficient was measured using a dilatometer. Autoclave experiments were conducted for 94 days in an aqueous condition of 360 °C under 18.6 MPa in 0.01 mol/L LiOH solutions. The results showed that MAO + laser treatment resulted in a significant increase in the corrosion resistance of Zr–1Nb cladding tubes at high temperatures, because laser melting and etching could lead to a reduction in surface roughness and an increase in compactness of the pre-oxide film, and laser processing could promote the transformation of m-ZrO2 phase to t-ZrO2 phase. The best corrosion resistance was obtained when the pulse energy was 500 mJ, scanning speed was 0.13 mm/s, and pulse number was 2400.

The current investigation was proposed to assess the effectiveness of the combination of resveratrol and ascorbic acid against Isoproterenol (ISO)-induced myocardial infarction in rats. The ...experimental model was divided into six groups (n = 6 in each group). Group I: control, Group 2: isoproterenol (ISO)-100 mg/kg b.wt, Group 3: ISO+Resveratrol (RES) (20 mg/kg b.wt) treated, Group 4: ISO+ Ascorbic acid (AA) (80 mg/kg b.wt) treated, Group 5: ISO+RES (20 mg/kg b.wt)+AA (80 mg/kg b.wt) treated and Group 6 : RES (20 mg/kg b.wt)+ AA (80 mg/kg b.wt) alone treated. The study showed an increase in lipid peroxides and cardiac markers in the serum samples of experimental animals administered with ISO. Treatment with RES and AA individually and a combinational formulation brought a significant decrease in lipid peroxides and cardiac markers. They increased the level of enzymatic antioxidants and non-enzymatic antioxidant levels. Histopathological results showed the distortion of heart architecture among the experimental groups administered with ISO and significant recovery when treated with RES and AA individually and in their combination. The study presents the effective combination of RES and AA in combating ISO-induced myocardial infarction and protection against ROS-mediated oxidative stress.
