Two sets of V and Rc light curves of V789 Her and one complete set of BVRcIc light curves of V1007 Cas were observed and presented. By analyzing all these light curves together with the Sloan g′i′ ...light curves observed by Kjurkchieva et al., we determined that both systems are W-subtype contact binaries and that V789 Her is a medium contact system, while V1007 Cas is a shallow contact system. Because the two binaries show totally eclipsing primary minima, the photometric results are reliable. In addition, the light curves of the two systems are asymmetric, requiring a dark spot on the primary or the secondary component in the modeling. By compiling all available times of minimum light including literatures, SuperWASP archive and ours, we analyzed the orbital period variations. We derived that the O − C diagram of V789 Her displays a periodic oscillation whose period and amplitude are 29.2 years and 0.0179 days and the period of V1007 Cas exhibits a continuous decrease at dP/dt = −1.78( 0.09) × 10−7 days yr−1. The cyclic period modulation of V789 Her is probably attributed to the light travel time effect via a tertiary companion with very small mass. The continuous period decrease of V1007 Cas may result from the mass transfer between the two components. However, we cannot rule out the possibility of angular momentum loss because V1007 Cas shows strong magnetic activity. By analyzing the evolutionary status of the components of the two systems, we determined that they exhibit typical characteristics of other W-subtype contact binaries.

However, most of the reported crystals are grown in organic solvents and require high temperature. In this work, we develop a low-temperature crystallization strategy to grow CsPbBr

perovskite single crystals in water. Then, we carefully investigate the structure and optoelectronic properties of the crystals obtained, and compare them with CsPbBr
3
crystals grown in dimethyl sulfoxide. Interestingly, the water grown crystals exhibit a distinct crystal habit, superior charge transport properties and better stability in air. We also fabricate X-ray detectors based on the CsPbBr
3
crystals, and systematically characterize their device performance. The crystals grown in water demonstrate great potential for X-ray imaging with enhanced performance metrics.
The nature of subproton scale fluctuations in the solar wind is an open question, partly because two similar types of electromagnetic turbulence can occur: kinetic Alfvén turbulence and whistler ...turbulence. These two possibilities, however, have one key qualitative difference: whistler turbulence, unlike kinetic Alfvén turbulence, has negligible power in density fluctuations. In this Letter, we present new observational data, as well as analytical and numerical results, to investigate this difference. These results show, for the first time, that the fluctuations well below the proton scale are predominantly kinetic Alfvén turbulence, and, if present at all, the whistler fluctuations make up only a small fraction of the total energy.

DLI is an effective strategy for patients with recurrent hematological malignancies after allogeneic hematopoietic SCT (allo-HSCT). DLI has been widely applied to boost the graft vs tumor (GVT) or ...GVL effects. However, given the potentially severe complications associated with conventional DLI and transient GVL effect, new strategies for DLI are emerging. In this review, we have discussed the recent important studies on DLI as a prophylactic or therapeutic modality for relapsed hematological disorders after allo-HSCT. The strategies to separate GVL from GVHD have also been discussed. Leukemia-targeting therapy and lymphodepletion combined with DLI, and prophylactic DLI after allo-HSCT are often employed for patients with high risk of relapse, which has been reviewed as well. In addition, we have also discussed the issues on DLI to be further addressed, such as the doses, timing and frequency of DLI in different clinical settings, leukemic antigen-specific DLI as well as how to augment GVL effect while attenuating GVHD.

Drug transporters are now widely acknowledged as important determinants governing drug absorption, excretion, and, in many cases, extent of drug entry into target organs. There is also a greater ...appreciation that altered drug transporter function, whether due to genetic polymorphisms, drug-drug interactions, or environmental factors such as dietary constituents, can result in unexpected toxicity. Such effects are in part due to the interplay between various uptake and efflux transporters with overlapping functional capabilities that can manifest as marked interindividual variability in drug disposition in vivo. Here we review transporters of the solute carrier (SLC) and ATP-binding cassette (ABC) superfamilies considered to be of major importance in drug therapy and outline how understanding the expression, function, and genetic variation in such drug transporters will result in better strategies for optimal drug design and tissue targeting as well as reduce the risk for drug-drug interactions and adverse drug responses.
During the ionization of atoms irradiated by linearly polarized intense laser fields, we find for the first time that the transverse momentum distribution of photoelectrons can be well fitted by a ...squared zeroth-order Bessel function because of the quantum interference effect of glory rescattering. The characteristic of the Bessel function is determined by the common angular momentum of a number of semiclassical paths termed as glory trajectories, which are launched with different nonzero initial transverse momenta distributed on a specific circle in the momentum plane and finally deflected to the same asymptotic momentum, which is along the polarization direction, through post-tunneling rescattering. Glory rescattering theory based on the semiclassical path-integral formalism is developed to address this effect quantitatively. Our theory can resolve the long-standing discrepancies between existing theories and experiments on the fringe location, predict the sudden transition of the fringe structure in holographic patterns, and shed light on the quantum interference aspects of low-energy structures in strong-field atomic ionization.

Abstract
Artificial neural networks are notoriously power- and time-consuming when implemented on conventional von Neumann computing systems. Consequently, recent years have seen an emergence of ...research in machine learning hardware that strives to bring memory and computing closer together. A popular approach is to realise artificial neural networks in hardware by implementing their synaptic weights using memristive devices. However, various device- and system-level non-idealities usually prevent these physical implementations from achieving high inference accuracy. We suggest applying a well-known concept in computer science—committee machines—in the context of memristor-based neural networks. Using simulations and experimental data from three different types of memristive devices, we show that committee machines employing ensemble averaging can successfully increase inference accuracy in physically implemented neural networks that suffer from faulty devices, device-to-device variability, random telegraph noise and line resistance. Importantly, we demonstrate that the accuracy can be improved even without increasing the total number of memristors.

In order to demonstrate the feasibility of single-photon imaging of flash lidar in the permanent shadow area of the moon, a set of space-based single-photon imaging system is designed, including the ...lidar based on VCSEL array, the optical emitting system based on the uniform beam shaping meta-lens using propagation phase and geometric phase joint control method, the two-axis three-mirror optical receiving system, and the single-photon detector array based on photon counting mode. According to the heavy-tailed pulse laser function, Poisson statistical filtering theory and Monte Carlo simulation method, the echo photon number, the photon counting process, the ranging accuracy and the intensity image are simulated in the condition of 50 km detection distance by setting different of the object reflectivity, the repetition times and the gating interval time. The results show that according to the parameter settings in this paper, the number of echo photons is as low as about 10-4 orders. However, the photon counting waveform can better restore the transmission waveform. The setting of the repetition number and the gating interval time should not only consider the missing detection phenomenon, but also consider the noise accumulation. When the repetition number is 2000 and the gate number is 200, the ranging accuracy can reach 0.075m, and the imaging in the crater without light is realized.
Abstract Tokamak edge turbulence is crucial for the cross-field transport of particles and energy away from the separatrix. A better understanding of what affects the turbulence helps to control the ...heat flux to the divertor targets and the wall. One potentially important factor is the ion particle source in the divertor, as the neutral pathways and the ionisation source distributions are different depending on the divertor geometry, e.g. vertical- and horizontal-target configurations. Numerically, how to represent the sources and mimic the effects on the SOL in the simulations is still an open question. In this paper, we use a 3D turbulence code STORM, based on drift-reduced Braginskii equations, to study the effects of the divertor particle source distribution on turbulence in a simplified 3D slab geometry. The results show that it requires a large amount of divertor particle source to be peaked near the separatrix to alter the heat flux deposited on the target in attached conditions. This large non-uniform particle source can locally enhance the turbulence in the divertor volume, which redistributes the energy flux to the target and reduces the maximum amplitude. Meanwhile, the plasma profiles evaluated at the outboard midplane, such as the amplitudes and fluctuations of the density and temperature, are marginally changed. Another consequence of our results is that the prediction of the temperature difference between the outboard midplane and the target would be underestimated, if the calculation only considers the conductive heat flux and ignores this enhanced cross-field transport in the divertor.
