Introduction. Museum collection management is interesting to discuss because it is one of the main activities in museum management as an information institution with problems, especially in the new ...normal era of famous museums in South Kalimantan (Lambung Mangkurat Museum, Wasaka Museum, and Sultan Suriansyah Museum).
Research methods. This study uses a qualitative method by applying data collection techniques are: interviews, observations, and documents.
Data Analysis. The data analysis process includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions/verification.
Results and Discussion. In the new normal era, the Lambung Mangkurat Museum and Wasaka Museum have implemented the concept of museum collection management. In contrast, the Sultan Suriansyah Museum has not properly implemented the collection management concept. There were various problems in the management of museum collections and the solutions sought by each museum.
Conclusions and Suggestions. Lambung Mangkurat Museum, Wasaka Museum, and the Sultan Suriansyah Museum continue to manage museum collections in the new normal era according to their capacity. Therefore, it is recommended that the government pay more attention to coaching and competency development for museum collection managers and the need for an e-catalog system in all museums.

More than ever, citizens and especially students need ready access to authoritative, trustworthy information. It's out there, but given the sheer volume of material and the frenetic pace of ...information sharing, markers of credibility are eroding. Twitter, TikTok and the like dominate students' news gathering, and nefarious actors truck in conspiracy theories on those platforms. Meanwhile, high quality born-digital initiatives and resources struggle to be discovered and shared. We call this lesser explored universe of trustworthy information the "credible web." It is large and growing. We hope that libraries and allied organizations can find more ways to uncover, index and share this dynamic and growing region of the open Internet with their patrons and wider world. This article aims to provide a bit of backstory and context for the mission of mining the credible web and some practical ways to begin. We humbly propose an updated mission for libraries and librarians, beyond collection management and towards active curation and publishing.
Library Director Jeff Bailey opened the session Trot So Quick: Addressing Budgetary Changes during the 39th Annual Charleston Conference on budgetary changes, by letting the audience know he had been ...at the Library for ten years, and the changes he planned to outline in his talk were budgetary issues that he had been dealing with for the last year and a half. Some budgetary changes came quickly for their Library, presenting severe budgetary challenges, and both Bailey and Collection Management Librarian Star Holloway, gave a very thorough explanation of how they managed to cope with the changes.
Through a series of empirically and theoretically informed reflections, Opening Up the University offers insights into the process of setting up and running programs that cater to displaced students. ...Including contributions from educators, administrators, practitioners, and students, this expansive collected volume aims to inspire and question those who are considering creating their own interventions, speaking to policy makers and university administrators on specific points relating to the access and success of refugees in higher education, and suggests concrete avenues for further action within existing academic structures.

While the Charleston meeting remains a core one for acquisitions librarians in dialog with publishers and vendors, the breadth of coverage of this volume reflects the fact that this conference continues to be one of the major venues for leaders in the publishing and library communities to shape strategy and prepare for the future. Almost 2,000 delegates attended the 2017 meeting, ranging from the staff of small public library systems to the CEOs of major corporations. This fully indexed, copyedited volume provides a rich source for the latest evidence-based research and lessons from practice in a range of information science fields. The contributors are leaders in the library, publishing, and vendor communities.

'Australian Seashores' is an historic photograph exhibition at the University of Sydney's Chau Chak Wing Museum (2022-2023). It celebrates the landmark text of the same name, which was first ...published in 1952 by Professor William J Dakin and Isobel Bennett of the University of Sydney, with Elizabeth Carrington Pope of the Australian Museum. The book was aimed at a broad audience, from general enthusiast to academics, and richly illustrated with original photographs. The exhibition uses the images to celebrate the writers, the book, and their impact on Australian marine science. It also considers potential new roles for the photographs, particularly in documenting environmental change over the past 70 years.
Grounded in case studies from individual objects and collections from North America, Europe, Africa, the Pacific Islands, and Australia, this volume provides a new theoretical framework for examining ...material culture within museums.

Storage facilities, as spaces devoted to the conservation and restoration of collections, are a clear opportunity for museums to improve in terms of sustainability. However, the relationship between ...heritage and the concept of sustainability has deepened considerably in recent years. Characterised by its ‘living’ nature and built on profound and inherent connections with society, the economy and the environment, the notion of sustainability particularly highlights the new issues facing heritage preservation and communication. It is beneficial to examine the externalised storage model in light of these new issues.Initially located relatively close to the sites where collections would be exhibited, in recent years storage facilities have become more independent and physically distant from museums. This distance has enabled museums to create more effective spaces entirely devoted to collection conservation and to meet security, safety and climate requirements. Many have developed to become much more than passive storage areas, incorporating spaces dedicated to more functional work. But as museums’ environmental impact comes under more scrutiny, these new locations must also make up for their physical distance by rethinking their uses and functions with an eye to social responsibility, working to review norms, create partnerships with local authorities and even develop new models of what constitutes a museum space. The Louvre Conservation Centre (CCL), located in Liévin, France, near the Louvre-Lens, is a model in this regard — one which we will describe in this article.
