O artigo procura reflectir a sociedade atual, situando dois paradigmas emergentes no diálogo idoso-tecnologia. O primeiro, respeita às questões idoso e interacções com o desenvolvimento tecnológico e ...suas influências no envelhecimento ativo; o segundo, analisa as expectativas de um grupo de idosos, de um concelho rural-urbano do sul de Portugal, face à utilização da tecnologia na sua actividade pessoal diária. Foi realizado um estudo exploratório, de tipo indutivo, com o recurso à metodologia do focus group. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir que a totalidade do grupo privilegia a sua situação de ageing in place em detrimento de respostas sociais tradicionais de apoio a idosos. Em matéria da utilização da tecnologia, as questões técnicas necessárias para uma boa utilização da tecnologia foram consideradas prioritárias. Um outro aspeto, referese à ideia de que a tecnologia é fundamental na lógica do ageing in place, na autonomia do idoso, mas condicionada ao tempo de utilização da mesma. Em termos de política social foi assumida como fundamental, a necessidade da descentralização do poder local em termos da literacia em tecnologia, e também valorizada a ideia de que o poder central deveria assumir, uma política nacional de incentivo ao uso da tecnologia por parte do idoso
The spread and acceptance of extremism and White nationalism throughout United States institutions poses some of today's most difficult challenges to national (in)security. The aging of the Brazilian population is a fact that occurs in today's society. With advances in diagnostics and the implementation of new therapeutic actions, the aging of the population undergoes ...considerable expansion, which, together with the downward trend in the birth rate, has influenced the conformation of Brazil's age pyramid. Faced with this unmistakable reality, the present study sought to identify the beliefs of the elderly in the Statute of the Elderly, embodied in Law 10,741 of October 1, 2003, the result of a long and protracted debate within the scope of the National Congress. With regard to beliefs, the definition of Kruger (1995) was adopted as being any statement made by at least one person about a particular social object. The Statute of the Elderly contemplated the existing laws, organized them by topics, discussed each of the rights and specified the punishments for the offenders, becoming more practical their understanding and application. Law 10.741 / 2003, when creating the Statute of the Elderly, was based on the principles established in the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, in the Codes, Ordinary Laws, Decrees, Regulations, Technical Norms, without forgetting the National Policy of the Elderly, Law 8,842 / 1994, creating a protective field for this public. As seen in the analysis of the research data, particularly in the open question, the information category appears in 19 (nineteen) lines, which is confirmed in three items closed questions, pointing to confirmation of the hypothesis that the elderly, are largely unaware of the Statute of the Elderly.

O envelhecimento da populacao brasileira e fato que se verifica na sociedade hodierna por conta dos avancos nos diagnosticos e a implementacao de novas acoes terapeuticas que associado a tendencia descendente da taxa de natalidade, tem influido na conformacao da piramide etaria do Brasil. Diante dessa realidade o presente estudo procurou identificar as crencas de idosos no Estatuto do Idoso, consubstanciado na Lei no. 10.741 de 01 de outubro de 2003, fruto de amplo e demorado debate no ambito do Congresso Nacional. No que diz respeito as crencas adotou-se a definicao de Kruger (1995) como sendo qualquer declaracao feita por pelo menos uma pessoa, acerca de determinado objeto social. O Estatuto do Idoso contemplou as leis ja existentes, organizou-as por topicos, discorreu sobre cada um dos direitos e especificou as punicoes para os infratores, ficando mais pratica sua compreensao e aplicacao. A Lei 10.741/2003, ao criar o Estatuto do Idoso, teve como alicerces os principios estabelecidos na Constituicao da Republica Federativa do Brasil, nos Codigos, Leis Ordinarias, Decretos, Regulamentos, Normas Tecnicas, sem olvidar da Politica Nacional do Idoso, estampado na Lei 8.842/1994, criando um campo protetivo para esse publico. Conforme visto na analise dos dados da pesquisa, particularmente na questao aberta, a categoria informacao aparece em 19 (dezenove) falas, o que e ratificado em tres itens das questoes fechadas, a apontar para confirmacao da hipotese de que os idosos, em grande parte, desconhecem o Estatuto do Idoso. The study examines the key features and areas of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s policy aimed at boosting the export of weapons, military and special equipment (WMSE) within the broader ...strategy of reforming the Indian military-industrial complex (MIC). The long-term goal of the Indian government is to achieve “strategic autonomy” in the defence sector. In the short term, Indian arms exports serve as the driving force behind the “Make in India” and “Self-reliant India” programmes - pivotal components of Prime Minister Modi’s political agenda. The significant amplification factor for India’s export ambitions has been conditioned in part by the escalating border tensions with China since 2017. The export of WMSE is emerging as a crucial tool to strengthen India’s bilateral relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region to counterbalance China. Nonetheless, to propel India into the group of the world’s leading arms exporters, as well as to gain full “strategic independence,” may be hard to achieve even in the long run. Despite systemic reforms in the military-industrial complex, efforts to engage private businesses and attract foreign capital, a number of challenges impede the growth of the defence industry and the export potential of the Indian military-industrial complex. These include the inadequate development of India’s manufacturing sector, dependency on foreign technologies, and insufficient funding for military-technical advancements. At the same time, the policy of supporting defence exports and reforming the MIC has been a stable trend in the strategy of the BJP government, playing a crucial role in the fulfillment of its short, medium and long term goals.
UK and global policies recommend whole-school approaches to improve childrens' inadequate physical activity (PA) levels. Yet, recent meta-analyses establish current interventions as ineffective due ...to suboptimal implementation rates and poor sustainability. To create effective interventions, which recognise schools as complex adaptive sub-systems, multi-stakeholder input is necessary. Further, to ensure 'systems' change, a framework is required that identifies all components of a whole-school PA approach. The study's aim was to co-develop a whole-school PA framework using the double diamond design approach (DDDA).
Fifty stakeholders engaged in a six-phase DDDA workshop undertaking tasks within same stakeholder (n = 9; UK researchers, public health specialists, active schools coordinators, headteachers, teachers, active partner schools specialists, national organisations, Sport England local delivery pilot representatives and international researchers) and mixed (n = 6) stakeholder groupings. Six draft frameworks were created before stakeholders voted for one 'initial' framework. Next, stakeholders reviewed the 'initial' framework, proposing modifications. Following the workshop, stakeholders voted on eight modifications using an online questionnaire.
Following voting, the Creating Active Schools Framework (CAS) was designed. At the centre, ethos and practice drive school policy and vision, creating the physical and social environments in which five key stakeholder groups operate to deliver PA through seven opportunities both within and beyond school. At the top of the model, initial and in-service teacher training foster teachers' capability, opportunity and motivation (COM-B) to deliver whole-school PA. National policy and organisations drive top-down initiatives that support or hinder whole-school PA. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first time practitioners, policymakers and researchers have co-designed a whole-school PA framework from initial conception. The novelty of CAS resides in identifying the multitude of interconnecting components of a whole-school adaptive sub-system; exposing the complexity required to create systems change. The framework can be used to shape future policy, research and practice to embed sustainable PA interventions within schools. To enact such change, CAS presents a potential paradigm shift, providing a map and method to guide future co-production by multiple experts of PA initiatives 'with' schools, while abandoning outdated traditional approaches of implementing interventions 'on' schools.
