Fear of childbirth is one of the main causes of women's emotional difficulty experienced in the perinatal period, especially those having their first child.

This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 116 primiparous women. The participants were randomly divided into intervention (
= 58) or control (
= 58) groups. The intervention group received daily stimulation of certain points in their body for 12 weeks using EFT. The fear of childbirth was measured at the beginning of the study and 12 weeks after the intervention using the Wijma Delivery Expectancy/Experience Questionnaire (WDEQ-A) and at the first postpartum visit with WDEQ-B. Data were analyzed using independent
-test, paired
-test, Chi-square or Fisher's exact test, and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA).
After intervention, the mean score of fear of childbirth in the intervention group decreased from 49.39 ± 8.21 to 40.42 ± 13.43 (
< 0.0001), while the same rate in the control group increased from 49.47 ± 9.06 to 52.09 ± 7.73 (
= 0.002). The mean score of fear of childbirth after delivery in the control group (45.88 ± 7.10) was higher than that in the intervention group (27.13 ± 5.08) (
< 0.0001).
Based on the findings of this study, EFT can be considered as an effective method to reduce the fear of childbirth score in primiparous women.

Firstly, results revealed superior disembedding for children with ASD, irrespective of the type of target or embedding context, although the ASD group took more time in both the M-EFT and D-EFT. Secondly, the number of target lines continuing into the context proved more of a hindrance for the controls. Taken together, these findings provide strong evidence to support the notion of superior disembedding in ASD.

In this paper, we present and discuss partial findings of a thematic analysis on the experiences of 13 licensed clinicians who integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement ...Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in couple therapy. We cover five of the seven themes that emerged from the data. These themes refer to practical factors of implementation, such as identifying and assessing the conditions necessary for effective integration, risks of integrating, and timing of integration in couple therapy. One additional theme refers to the institutional and training factors that might hinder model integration. After presenting the findings, we contrast them with available literature. We conclude by discussing clinical and research implications.
Background: Venous blood sampling has several risks of complication, the basic cause was emotional factor, such as anxiety and pain, which remain important to be solved. Objective: The aim of this ...study was to determine the effect of hypno–EFT to reduce the anxiety and pain during venous blood sampling. Methods: The design of the study was quasi experimental, with pretest posttest with control group design. The sampling technique was simple random sampling to select 52 respondents. Anxiety was measured using a Hamilton anxiety rating scale (HARS) modification and pain was measured using the Visual analogue scale (VAS) method. Wilcoxon and Manova multivariate test were used for data analysis.Results: Before hypno-EFT there was 1 person (2.9%) did not experience anxiety, 9 people (25.7%) with mild anxiety, 20 people (57.1%) with moderate anxiety and 5 people (14.3%) with severe anxiety. After hypno-EFT therapy, there were 23 people (65.7%) did not get anxiety, mild anxiety were 11 people (31.4%) and severe anxiety was found in 1 person (2.9%). For the average pain of respondent in venipuncture before hypno-EFT was 3.20 with a median 3.00 and a standard deviation was 1.91. The minimum value of pain was 0 and 9 in maximum. After therapy Hypno-EFT, the average pain was 1.54 and the minimum value of pain was 0 and 6 at maximum. Statistical result showed that the p-value of anxiety and pain was 0.000 (0.05)Conclusion: There was a significant effect of hypno-EFT therapy to decrease the anxiety and pain during venous blood sampling. This method is recommended as an alternative procedure in venous blood sampling with complicating factors.
Critical thinking has been the focus of many studies considering the educational and social contexts. However, English as a foreign language (EFL) context is the one in which studies about critical ...thinking and its link to classroom engagement have not been carried out as much as expected. Hence, this study investigated to understand the association between EFL teachers' critical thinking ability and students' classroom engagement to get a broader understanding of the impact critical thinking has on students' success. To do this, firstly, both variables of this study are defined and explicated. Then, the relationship between critical thinking and students' classroom engagement is discussed. Finally, the implications of this research and also its limitations along with suggestions for further studies are put forward.
Objective
Client experience of psychotherapy is an important resource for our understanding of psychotherapy and deserves relevant attention in psychotherapy research. Emotion‐focused therapy (EFT) ...is a relatively new adaptation of a humanistic therapy that has a tradition of giving a voice to the clients in therapy. Despite the number of qualitative studies looking at the experience of clients in EFT, there was no formal qualitative meta‐analysis conducted synthesizing the existing qualitative research on the clients' experience of EFT.
Method
A sample of 11 primary qualitative studies was selected through a systematic search of the literature. Primary studies were critically appraised, and data (findings) from them extracted and meta‐analysed.
Results
All 11 studies featured experiences of helpful aspects of therapy, with difficult but helpful aspects reported in seven studies and unhelpful aspects reported in six studies. Most studies reported chair and experiential work and intense emotional work in EFT as helpful, with fewer reports and fewer clients finding them difficult but helpful or unhelpful. The multidimensional nature of the therapist and therapeutic relationship in EFT included emotional connection and support, validation and understanding and was commonly experienced as helpful to clients. Other client experiences reported included practical aspects of EFT such as session length, in‐session outcomes such as clients' transformative experiences, and internal and external factors which were experienced by clients such as determination or reluctance to commit to therapy.
Conclusions
Most clients experience EFT as an intense, challenging, but productive psychotherapy, but it appears a minority of clients experience aspects of EFT as challenging.

The phase diagrams and magnetization curves of a graphene ladder-type Ising system under an applied transverse field are investigated by using the effective-field theory with correlations. They have exhibited many characteristic phenomena, such as the reentrant phenomena exhibiting the three transition temperatures. In particular, the thermal variations of transverse magnetizations have exhibited some characteristic features not found in other transverse Ising models.

Depression, anxiety and related disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorders and trauma/stressor related disorders, have high prevalence, chronic courses and cause significant impairment. ...These disorders are also highly co-morbid, and appear to share etiology and maintenance factors. Recent developments have seen the emergence of transdiagnostic approaches that systematically address the common/shared features of these disorders. A key advantage of transdiagnostic approaches is that they can reduce the pressure on mental health professionals to be proficient in a plethora of single-disorder focused treatments. Currently almost all transdiagnostic approaches come from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). However, not all clients prefer or benefit from CBT. Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) represents an evidence-based alternative to CBT. This study aims to examine a transdiagnostic adaptation of EFT (EFT-T) as a treatment for depression, anxiety and related disorders.
The current study is a randomised controlled trial that aims to establish the efficacy of EFT-T vs. wait-list control in the treatment of depression, anxiety and related disorders. Up to 40 clients presenting in a psychology/counselling service will be randomly assigned to two conditions: EFT-T (n=20) and wait-list control, with delayed intervention (n=20). Primary outcome measures will be the Overall Anxiety Severity and Impairment Symptoms, the Overall Depression Severity and Impairment Symptoms, and the Clinical Outcome in Routine Evaluation - Outcome Measure. Disorder specific self-report measures will also be used to assess the main symptomatology of respective primary diagnoses. Clients will be assessed prior to therapy, at week 16, at end of therapy, and at 6 months follow-up.
This study aims to provide an initial test of EFT-T as a transdiagnostic treatment for depression, anxiety and related disorders. It will provide estimates of effects sizes that can inform power calculations for a comparative trial, comparing EFT-T to a standard transdiagnostic treatment, CBT.

Objective
To study the value of fetal epicardial fat thickness (EFT) in gestational diabetes mellitus in the third trimester of pregnancy and its relationship with clinical parameters and perinatal ...outcomes.
Methods
A total of 80 participants, including 40 with diagnosed GDM and 40 healthy pregnant women, were included in the study. Demographic data were obtained from medical records. Sonographic examinations were performed, such as amniotic fluid value, fetal biometric measurements, and Doppler parameters of the umbilical artery. Fetal EFT values were measured at the free wall of the right ventricle using a reference line with echocardiographic methods. Correlation tests were performed to evaluate the relationship between fetal EFT and clinical and perinatal parameters. p < .05 were interpreted as statistically significant.
Results
The fetal EFT value was statistically higher in the GDM group than in the control group (p: .000). Spearman and Pearson correlation tests revealed statistically significant but weak positive correlations between fetal EFT value, 1‐h 100‐g OGTT, birth weight, and BMI (r: .198, p: .047; r: .395, p: .012; r: .360, p: .042, respectively). The optimal fetal EFT threshold for predicting GDM disease was found as 1.55 mm, with a specificity of 74.4% and sensitivity of 75.0%. Statistically significant differences between the two groups in umbilical artery Doppler resistance index (RI), pulsatility index (PI), and systolic/diastolic ratio (S/D) were not found (p: .337; p: .503; p: .155;). BMI and amniotic fluid volume were higher in the GDM group compared to the control group (p: .009; p < .01).
Conclusion
This study demonstrated that increased fetal EFT may occur as a reflection of changes in glucose metabolism in intrauterine life. Future studies with larger series, including the study of neonatal metabolic parameters, will contribute to the understanding of the importance of fetal EFT in determining the metabolic status of the fetus.
