The work considers the problem of determining the factors of energy efficiency of industrial parks in the conditions of military aggression in the conditions of the introduction of the National ...Economic Strategy and regulatory influence on Industrial Parks in Ukraine. The energy efficiency of industrial parks primarily depends on the main parameters of the selected technological processes that are embedded in the basis of enterprises and their productivity. A significant factor affecting the environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of industrial parks is the method of energy generation. On the basis of the analysis of the work of enterprises operating in conditions of military aggression, the main factors determining the energy efficiency of electricity production have been determined. Such factors are the overall efficiency of the power generating unit, which is determined by monitoring and diagnosing the power unit. Analyzing changes in energy efficiency, the characteristics of the power part of one of the most powerful diesel engines were selected. It is obvious that the diesel locomotive will consume more fuel to generate energy with a decrease in efficiency. The main diagnostic factors of generating equipment that affect the energy efficiency of industrial parks in conditions of military aggression are: the ratio of currents in compressor and depressurized modes, the real degree of compression, and as a result, the efficiency of the power plant. On the basis of the determined factors, the effectiveness of the implementation of the system of monitoring and diagnosing the power units of energy-generating equipment of enterprises in the conditions of military aggression was determined. Recommendations have been established to minimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions to ensure the main principles of industrial parks, environmental friendliness and energy efficiency.
Робота розглядає проблему визначення чинників енергоефективності промислових парків в умовах військової агресії та впливу Національної Економічної Стратегії та регулятивного впливу на промислові парки в Україні. Енергоефективність промислових парків в першу чергу залежить від основних параметрів обраних технологічних процесів, які вбудовані в основу підприємств та їх продуктивності. Значущим фактором, що впливає на екологічну безпеку та енергоефективність промислових парків, є метод виробництва енергії. На основі аналізу роботи підприємств, що функціонують в умовах військової агресії, було визначено основні фактори, що визначають енергоефективність виробництва електроенергії. Такими факторами є загальна ефективність енерговиробничого агрегату, яка визначається моніторингом та діагностикою енерговиробничого агрегату. Аналізуючи зміни в енергоефективності, були вибрані характеристики енергетичної частини одного з найпотужніших дизельних двигунів. Очевидно, що дизельний локомотив буде споживати більше пального для виробництва енергії при зниженні ефективності. Основні діагностичні фактори обладнання для виробництва енергії, які впливають на енергоефективність промислових парків в умовах військової агресії, включають в себе співвідношення струмів у режимах компресії та розрідження, реальний ступінь компресії, і, як наслідок, ефективність енергоблоку. На основі визначених факторів була визначена ефективність впровадження системи моніторингу та діагностики енерговиробничих агрегатів підприємств в умовах військової агресії. Були встановлені рекомендації щодо мінімізації споживання пального та зменшення викидів, щоб забезпечити основні принципи промислових парків, а саме, екологічну безпеку та енергоефективність.
Die Energie- und CO2-Einsparungen im Gebäudesektor in Deutschland bleiben weit hinter den Zielen zurück: der Wohngebäudebestand ist nur unzureichend energetisch saniert, die Wärmeerzeugung von ...fossilen Energieträgern abhängig und die Sanierungsaktivität ist seit Jahren auf einem zu geringen Niveau. Aufgrund der verschleppten Wärmewende bedeutet die Energiekrise eine enorme Vulnerabilität und finanzielle Belastung, gerade für einkommensschwache Haushalte und Mieterhaushalte. Denn insbesondere diese sind in der Ausstattung mit gebäudebezogenen Energieeffizienztechnologien erheblich benachteiligt.
The German residential building stock is only insufficiently retrofitted in terms of energy efficiency; heating is very dependent on fossil fuels and renovation activity has remained too low for years. Now, the energy crisis means enormous vulnerability and financial burden, especially for low-income households and tenants. Various investment barriers result in these households being significantly disadvantaged in the provision of energy efficiency technologies. In particular, market failures, structural investment barriers and the systematic misperception of energy cost savings affect tenants and low-income households more often.
In residential sector, air conditioning system takes the biggest portion of overall energy consumption to fulfil the thermal comfort need. In addressing the issue, thermal insulation is one efficient ...technology to utilize the energy in providing the desired thermal comfort by its environmentally friendly characteristics. The principle of thermal insulation is by the proper installation of insulation using energy-efficient materials that would reduce the heat loss or heat gain, which leads to reduction of energy cost as the result. This paper is aimed to gather most recent developments on the building thermal insulations and also to discuss about the life-cycle analysis and potential emissions reduction by using proper insulation materials.

Nanotechnology is a new technique which is widely applied in several energy systems. The novel process of CO2 absorption or conversion enhancement using nanofluids receives significant attention in ...recent decades. A comprehensive literature review on CO2 absorption enhancement by nanofluids is here compiled. This present review covers the nanofluids preparation methods, enhancement mechanisms, and the enhancement factors of the gas-liquid system. The nanofluids parameters and fluid flow rates effects on the enhancement of CO2 absorption are discussed and highlighted. Moreover, this review indicates that the CO2-nanofluids system is a promising technique for gas pollution control. However, a lot of future works are needed to increase the absorption behavior and performance of the nanofluids as well as reduce the energy consumption during the capture process.

One of the innovative directions of heat treatment of soil in the technologies of decontamination from pesticides, oil products and disinfection is heating in a microwave electromagnetic field. ...Numerical studies testify to the effectiveness of the microwave treatment method. This is due to the peculiarities of the interaction of the microwave field with dielectric materials. Unique effects arise, such as the possibility of local heating, volume heating of the material, unidirectionality of pressure and humidity gradients. This contributes to the intensification of transfer processes and the possibility of energy savings. However, the challenge at present is to determine the processing regimes, including load mass, specific microwave field power, electric field strength, material layer thickness, and processing time, under which the microwave method will be energy efficient. Conducting multifactorial experimental studies allows determining the conditions of energy feasibility of microwave soil treatment. Therefore, the object of research is the process of heating a dense layer of soil under the action of a microwave electromagnetic field.
The results of studies on the effect of microwave treatment of soil contaminated with organophosphorus pesticides, contaminated with petroleum products, and under what conditions the qualitative effect was obtained, as well as the results of the effect of the microwave field on the pathogenic microflora of the soil used for growing plants, were considered. The high quality of implementation of soil treatment technologies is determined. Energy efficiency was determined on the basis of data on temperature and moisture content, analysis of thermograms of microwave heating of chernozem and clay soil, analysis of the influence of material layer thickness, influence of dielectric properties and power of the microwave field. According to the results of thermal calculations, the values of the efficiency of the microwave chamber and the intensity of the electric field were determined, which are recommended as the basis for scaling in order to transfer the experimental results to industrial installations.
During the research, specific experimental methods of research under microwave heating conditions, analytical methods of thermal calculations, developed by the authors of the experimental research methodology were used. Experimental studies were carried out on the installation created by the authors. The results of the research are intended for the wide implementation into practice of technological calculations of microwave chambers for heat treatment of soils, intensification of disinfection processes under the conditions of energy efficiency of the transformation of the energy of the microwave field into the internal energy of the soil.
Одним з інноваційних напрямків термообробки ґрунту в технологіях знезараження від пестицидів, нафтопродуктів та дезінфекції є нагрівання в мікрохвильовому електромагнітному полі. Чисельні дослідження свідчать про ефективність мікрохвильового методу обробки. Це пов’язано з особливостям взаємодії мікрохвильового поля з діелектричними матеріалами. Виникають унікальні ефекти, такі як можливість локального нагрівання, об’ємне нагрівання матеріалу, односпрямованість градієнтів тиску та вологості. Це сприяє інтенсифікації процесів перенесення та можливості енергозаощадження. Проте на даний час проблемою є визначення режимів обробки, які включають масу завантаження, питому потужність мікрохвильового поля, напруженість електричного поля, товщину шару матеріалу та час обробки, за якими мікрохвильовий метод буде енергоефективним. Проведення багатофакторних експериментальних досліджень дозволяють визначити умови енергетичної доцільності мікрохвильової обробки ґрунтів. Отже, об'єктом дослідження є процес нагрівання щільного шару ґрунту при дії мікрохвильового електромагнітного поля.
Розглянуто результати досліджень впливу мікрохвильової обробки ґрунтів, забруднених фосфорорганічними пестицидами, забруднених нафтопродуктами, та за якими умовами отриманий якісний ефект, а також результати впливу мікрохвильового поля на патогенну мікрофлору ґрунту, який використовується для вирощування рослин. Визначена висока якість впровадження технологій обробки ґрунту. Енергетична ефективність визначалась на підставі даних за температурою та вологовмістом, аналізу термограм мікрохвильового нагрівання чорноземного та глинистого ґрунту, за аналізом впливу товщини шару матеріалу, впливу діелектричних властивостей та потужності мікрохвильового поля. За результатами теплових розрахунків визначені значення ККД мікрохвильової камери та напруженість електричного поля, що рекомендується як базова для масштабування з метою перенесення експериментальних результатів до установок промислового призначення.
Під час проведення досліджень використано специфічні експериментальні методи досліджень в умовах мікрохвильового нагрівання, аналітичні методи проведення теплових розрахунків, розроблені авторами методики обробки експериментальних досліджень. Експериментальні дослідження здійснені на створеній авторами установці. Результати досліджень передбачені для широкого впровадження у практику технологічних розрахунків мікрохвильових камер для термообробки ґрунтів, інтенсифікації процесів знезараження за умовами енергоефективності перетворення енергії мікрохвильового поля у внутрішню енергію ґрунту.

Buildings in cities consume 30–70% of total primary energy, and improving building energy efficiency is one of the key strategies towards sustainable urbanization. Urban building energy models (UBEM) can support city managers to evaluate and prioritize energy conservation measures (ECMs) for investment and the design of incentive and rebate programs. This paper presents the retrofit analysis feature of City Building Energy Saver (CityBES) to automatically generate and simulate UBEM using EnergyPlus based on cities’ building datasets and user-selected ECMs. CityBES is a new open web-based tool to support city-scale building energy efficiency strategic plans and programs. The technical details of using CityBES for UBEM generation and simulation are introduced, including the workflow, key assumptions, and major databases. Also presented is a case study that analyzes the potential retrofit energy use and energy cost savings of five individual ECMs and two measure packages for 940 office and retail buildings in six city districts in northeast San Francisco, United States. The results show that: (1) all five measures together can save 23–38% of site energy per building; (2) replacing lighting with light-emitting diode lamps and adding air economizers to existing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems are most cost-effective with an average payback of 2.0 and 4.3years, respectively; and (3) it is not economical to upgrade HVAC systems or replace windows in San Francisco due to the city’s mild climate and minimal cooling and heating loads. The CityBES retrofit analysis feature does not require users to have deep knowledge of building systems or technologies for the generation and simulation of building energy models, which helps overcome major technical barriers for city managers and their consultants to adopt UBEM.

Household energy conservation has emerged as a major challenge and opportunity for researchers, practitioners and policymakers. Consumers also seem to be gaining greater awareness of the value and ...need for sustainable energy practices, particularly amid growing public concerns over greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Yet even with adequate knowledge of how to save energy and a professed desire to do so, many consumers still fail to take noticeable steps towards energy efficiency and conservation. There is often a sizeable discrepancy between peoples’ self-reported knowledge, values, attitudes and intentions, and their observable behaviour—examples include the well-known ‘knowledge-action gap’ and ‘value-action gap’. But neither is household energy consumption driven primarily by financial incentives and the rational pursuit of material interests. In fact, people sometimes respond in unexpected and undesirable ways to rewards and sanctions intended to shift consumers’ cost–benefit calculus in favour of sustainable behaviours. Why is this so? Why is household energy consumption and conservation difficult to predict from either core values or material interests? By drawing on critical insights from behavioural economics and psychology, we illuminate the key cognitive biases and motivational factors that may explain why energy-related behaviour so often fails to align with either the personal values or material interests of consumers. Understanding these psychological phenomena can make household and community responses to public policy interventions less surprising, and in parallel, can help us design more cost-effective and mass-scalable behavioural solutions to encourage renewable and sustainable energy use among consumers.

Zielvorstellung ist ein energieschonender Ausbau der allgemeinen Vernetzung von Messsystemen.
Die 11. EASS-Tagung steht ganz im Zeichen einer sinnvollen Entwicklung von Technologien. Präsentieren Sie Ihre Ideen und Ergebnisse, bei denen die Energieeffizienz und Energieautonomie der Systeme zum Motor von Forschung und Entwicklung werden. Firmen und Forschungsinstitutionen sind aufgefordert, sich mit Ansätzen zu befassen, die „smart-vernetzte und Ressourcenschonende Produkte zum Ziel haben. Wir stellen uns vor, dass dort, wo die Ideen von Unternehmen und Forschungseinrichtungen aufeinandertreffen, der Entwicklung solcher Ressourcenschonenden Technologien ein starker Schub gegeben wird. Mit der EASS adressieren wir explizit auch Unternehmen, mit der Aufforderung, die Potenziale der entsprechenden Technologien zu nutzen und in ihre Produktion zu integrieren.

Although it is often stated that the energy consumption in buildings accounts for more than 30% of total global final energy use, only a few studies analyze updated data about the current building ...energy consumptions or focus on comparing different countries. Similarly, models that predict future trends in building energy demand often use contrasting algorithms which result in diverse forecasts. Scope of this paper is to present and discuss data taken from several studies about the building energy consumptions in US, EU, and BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) countries and to provide an updated inventory of useful figures. Comparisons among countries are used to show historical, actual, and future energy consumption trends. Data presented by the World Bank, the United Nations Environment Program, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and the International Energy Agency are compared with national reports as well as with research studies. The variety of the approaches used in each of the previous sources was considered fundamental to allow a complete review. The paper shows that the total building energy consumptions in BRIC countries have already overcome those in developed countries, and the continuous increase in the building stock of the BRIC countries creates an urgency for promoting building energy efficiency policies in these countries. At the same time, the policies actually adopted in developed countries are insufficient to guarantee a significant reduction in their building energy consumption in the years to come. In the current scenario, at least a doubling of the global energy demand in buildings compared to today’s levels will occur by 2050. To avoid this forecast, cost-effective best practices and technologies as well as behavioral and lifestyle changes need to be diffused and accepted globally.
