This volume investigates the challenges confronted by the European Union (EU) as an international actor deeply influenced by migration. This has been a key phenomenon in recent years and holds great ...political, economic and social importance for the future of the whole European continent. The book focuses on specific aspects related to East-West migration, such as the importance of migration for economic development and the multi-faceted impact of migration on sending countries, as well as recipient countries. It also includes an overview of the myriad of reasons which stand for the fundamental decision whether to emigrate or not. The collection offers a novel Eastern European perspective on contemporary migration, a hotly debated topic inside the European Union, which is far from being fully recognised and understood, and it also provides valuable, complex and comprehensive insight into the issue of South Eastern migration to Western Europe.
Autor se u ovom radu bavi analizom aktualne fiskalne politike i pokušajem konsolidacije javne potrošnje, te sugerira fiskalnu politiku imanentnu tržišnom privređivanju u vrijeme globalne finansijske ...krize. Nosioci monetarne i fikalne politike danas u BiH nepoduzimaju značajnije mjere u cilju poticanja rasta i razvoja.

Koliko tujih jezikov znamo in katere in koliko jih bomo morali znati, da nam Bruselj ne bo oddaljen center, ki odloča namesto nas, ampak bomo znali izkoristiti tisto, kar nam ponuja in kar nam pripada.

Kritična geopolitika obravnava geopolitiko kot diskurzivni postopek, s pomočjo katerega različni akterji prostorizirajo mednarodno politiko. Hitro spreminjanje geopolitičnih razmer so po končani ...hladni vojni Evropsko unijo prisilile k oblikovanju vedno novih prostorizacij evropskega kontinenta. V ospredju le-teh sta širitev Evrope na vzhod in z njo povezano oblikovanje novih meja Evrope.
This ambitious volume provides a trenchant and timely analysis of the creation of a single market in both the EU and the US. Comparing the experience of the US during the nineteenth century and the ...single market of the EU in the twentieth century, the book demonstrates how the political economy of single market formation has followed remarkably similar trajectories. Both cases show evidence of interplay between different levels of government in determining distributive outcomes; evolution of a legal framework for the market; and development of new regulatory strategies to deal with changing economic realities. The book illustrates the process of market consolidation through a detailed comparison of the so-called four freedoms: the removal of border controls; and the largely unrestricted transfer of goods, services, and capital across different jurisdictions. In both cases, establishing one market, one currency, and a more unified banking and financial system transformed largely autonomous or sovereign constituent units into a more unified economic entity. Single Markets also sheds light on critically important questions for both comparativists and international relations scholars regarding the nature of territorial governance and the construction of state interests. The book's interdisciplinary approach to focusing on crucial political and economic developments on both sides of the Atlantic will be of interest to scholars in political science, public policy, law, and history.
