Improving customer satisfaction is as important as reducing risk associated with product upgrades. The quality function deployment (QFD), as a customer-centric tool, is widely used for product ...improvement. The failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) method is recognized as a reliability management tool. Considering the need to eliminate risks and meet customer expectations, building an integrated QFD-FMEA framework is useful for product upgrading. To enhance the performance, the QFD and FMEA methods are improved. First, the base criterion method (BCM) is used to derive the CR weights in the QFD method and RFs in the FMEA method. Second, the combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) method and interactive multi-criteria decision making (TODIM- Portuguese acronym) methods are utilized to derive the priority of TCs and FMs, respectively. Third, the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) is used to express the expert evaluation. Moreover, given that co-opetitional relationship exist in firms and lead to opinion interactions, the improved Hegselmann-Krause (HK) model is utilized in our improved method to stimulate opinion interaction under different competitive states in different phases. Finally, a case study is presented to validate the improved method, and its superiority is demonstrated through sensitivity and comparative analysis.

The dynamic and volatile nature of fashion supply chains (FSCs) has drawn increasing attention from academia and the corporate sector. Fashion products, characterized by short lifecycles, impulse ...buying, and an unpredictable demand, necessitate that FSC partners rapidly offer on-trend products to capture the real-time demand in the shortest time window. To achieve this, FSC partners must embrace technological innovations, collaborate, and establish partnering relations, and share real-time information. Failure to do so will result in obsolete inventory and financial markdowns. In this article, we focus on identifying risk categories in FSC, such as social, environmental, economic, operational, reputational, market, product, disruption, complexity, and workforce, along with relevant mitigation strategies. A survey questionnaire is distributed to six fashion companies in the U.K., employing the fuzzy group analytical hierarchy process for pairwise comparisons to assess the importance of each risk category. Fuzzy failure modes and effect analysis is used to analyze the impact of each risk mitigation strategy on the risk factors. This study supports the extant empirical research in which resource sharing is an effective risk mitigation strategy for fashion risk management. The study participants believe that designing resilient, flexible, agile, and responsive systems with increased levels of communication and information sharing with the help of emerging innovative technologies are the more robust mitigation strategies for fashion risk management. This study has evaluated the role of emerging technologies in risk management, confirming that information communication technology and artificial intelligence are the most effective technologies for managing potential risks in the fashion industry.
The basis for the control work for the quality in manufacturing process is the supervision of the effects of this process and the verification of the correctness of the employees’ activities. The ...continuity of the control activities carried out indicates the need to supervise all production elements of the offered products. The article presents unit guidelines of quality analyzes for the production and assembly of car brake calipers. The presented analyzes constitute the basis of a complete supervision system and are an element repeated in each subsequent production batch. The quantitative analysis of production non-conformities was supplemented with the determination of the causes and effects for these errors, and the analysis of statistical indicators of qualitative ability. The results for one production batch were presented along with the adopted procedure, which are a component of the system of supervision over the results of control processes included in the production process.
Introduction: Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) method is used in industries to identify, assess and prioritize risks. Multi-criteria decision-making methods (MCDM) select the best option ...from different criteria. Therefore, this study aims to identify, assess and prioritize risks using FMEA based on SWARA-VIKOR multi-criteria decision-making methods in a gas pressure reduction station. Material and Methods: In this descriptive and analytical study, stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA) and decision-making optimization and compromise solution (VIKOR) methods were used to rank the risks of failure modes identified in FMEA. SWARA method was employed to determine the severity, probability and discovery weights, and VIKOR technique was applied to rank the failure modes of the system equipment. Finally, an operational example of the pressure reduction station was presented to show the application and feasibility of the proposed model. A comparative study was conducted to confirm the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed model. Results: In total, 35 main failure modes were identified in the pressure reduction station. Failure of regulator sleeve and safety valve and regulator diaphragm rupture were assigned the first, second and third ranks of risk priority, respectively. The sensitivity analysis results showed the proposed approach had desirable stability and only the failure mode of increasing the heater flame temperature was very sensitive to changes in the weight of the criteria. Results of ranking the failure modes of the station indicated there were many changes in the ranking of failure modes based on the proposed approach. Conclusion: The proposed approach could provide more reasonable and accurate results for ranking risks because the criteria were weighed step by step based on the experts’ opinion.
Forestry in Slovakia has recently got very fast tendency of research in all levels. The introduction of complex machines and equipment, the application of new advanced technologies, the tendency to ...decrease energy consumption, material difficulty of products, requirements on high reliability of machines and automation in operation impose the necessity for the search of theoretical basics for wood production processes and utilization of new developing forest and wood processing techniques. The work with a chain saw is risky and has negative impact on the health of workers. It has been clear from recent findings. The limitation of these impacts has influence on technical, technological and organizational actions serving as preventive ones. That is the reason why the famous chain saw producers established different technical supports which have the influence on decrease of vibrations and noise. It is necessary to realize several actions within the maintenance of chain saws to fulfil the goals of a technical action. The paper deals with risk analysis by usage Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), which was implemented on STIHL motor chainsaw. We identified the potential failures, then we allocated to the value of occurrence, significance and detectability in the process and we also calculated the risk priority number (RPN). Application of the FMEA method allows flexibility in the case of unexpected situations and optimization of human potential abilities. FMEA is a tool preventing outages operational reliability and preventive tool for ensuring the maintenance of facilities. There are several methods of information processing regarding to reliability parameters, but some of them are very difficult and in standard operational conditions are not usable. The method of information analysis mentioned below is simple but precise enough for implementation in real working conditions.
The topic of ensuring the safe and efficient operation of smart cities is currently highly topical. In general, cities are required to effectively manage a wide range of incidents-from routine ...activities such as repairs and road accidents to life-threatening crises such as terrorist acts and natural disasters. If the city wants to effectively manage these incidents, it needs the ability to understand what is happening, to share information quickly, to direct responses based on standardized procedures, and then to constantly improve these procedures according to the best experience so far. The object of the research is the method, which is the introduction of a new information system in the field of building smart cities in practice. We solved the assignment through: Analysis of faults and their consequences (FMEA), using the process type of analysis.
When solving the security of the new information system in the area of smart city through the FMEA method was identified barriers / failures of individual steps that threaten the process. By designing and applying appropriate measures, we managed to reduce the residual risk of the information system so that all values were below the limit of risk acceptability.

Every large system should recognize and know how to manage its risks. The research problem in thispaper is failures on container cranes, since it is extremely important, for quay cranes in the processof transhipment at the container terminal, to recognize critical failures and pay attention to themduring regular or preventive maintenance. In order that the operational transhipment process at theterminal run efficiently, while ensuring the safety of staff and to identify failures that pose the greatestrisk in a timely manner, the method of analyzing the forms and effects of failures can be used. Thismethod is recognized as appropriate for solving the problem of risk assessment in this paper and alsocontributes to their controlling. A survey of operators working at the container terminal of the Portof Rijeka was conducted, on the type and frequency of individual failures on shore cranes. The level ofseverity, frequency and detection was then assessed for each failure, on the basis of which they wereranked by calculating the size of the risk priorities. This method of research can contribute to the futuretimely planning of maintenance and preventive troubleshooting for the purpose of uninterruptedtranshipment process.
Value analysis and engineering, on one hand, and risk analysis, on the other, are two very significant approaches whose application is widely accepted in various scientific fields. This paper will ...highlight the possibilities of combining the two methodologies for a more comprehensive approach to solving business problems. Considering the concepts and principles on which these approaches are based, it is possible to integrate them during project implementation. The broad possibilities of combining the methods of these two fields will be illustrated by the combination of the FAST and FMEA methods, where it is shown how, with a slight increase in time, the benefits of both of these methods can be achieved, with an example from an automotive industry, in particular, the example of a car door handle.
