Provider: - Institution: - Data provided by Europeana Collections- Šmarski Železničarski ansambel okoli leta 1958 na odru dvorane pri nekdanji gostilni Habjan v Šmarju.Pobudo za nastanek ansambla je ...dal takratni šef železniške postaje Šmarje pri Jelšah Stane Emeršič. Sam je bil vpet v kulturno in družabno življenje Šmarja in je ugotovil, da bi bilo zanimivo imeti tudi muzikante, ki bi bili vsi iz železničarskih vrst. Tako se je pet železničarjev dogovorilo in nastal je omenjeni kvintet. Vsi člani so bili glasbeni samouki in so izvajali skladbe, ki so bile znane iz zapuščine godcev, ki so igrali na ohcetih in veselicah. Naučili pa so se tudi nekaj skladb takratnih popularnih slovenskih ansamblov, ki so jih poslušali na Radiu ljudske tehnike Šmarje pri Jelšah. To so bile skladbe Beneških fantov, Veselih planšarjev, Avsenikov ipd. Občasno so nastopali na veselicah, ohcetih, domačih praznikih, silvestrovanjih in zabavah v gostilnah Habjan in Rudnica.Ansambel so sestavljali Ivan Zelič – trobenta, Martin Vahen – klarinet, Stanko Čakš – kontrabas, Avgust Vipotnik – kitara in Ivan Šeligo – harmonika. Ker so imeli vsi člani ansambla družine, zahtevno delo na železnici in še obveznosti doma, ni bilo mogoče vsega tega uskladiti z vajami in nastopi.
