Katastrski občini Gorca in Slatina v Halozah, v eni najmanj razvitih pokrajin SV Slovenije sta primera dolgoletnega zaostajanja v gospodarskem in demografskem razvoju. Neugodne reliefne prilike so v ...kmetijstvu omogočile le intenzivno vinogradništvo. Zaradi specifičnih lastniških odnosov se je tukaj razvilo viničarstvo, kar je po letu 1945 sprožilo močno depopulacijo, ki je povzročila neugodno socioekonomsko strukturo obeh katastrskih občin in Haloz v celoti.
The Mura-Zala sedimentary Basin is a Neogene basin with many competing geopotentials, spanning parts of Slovenia, Austria, Croatia and Hungary. Here we present the 3D regional geological model of the ...Slovenian part of the Mura-Zala Basin, which was developed to integrate the latest information on the geological structure of NE Slovenia and to publish the model in an open-access mode for easier and faster assessment of geopotentials. This was achieved through the harmonisation of the legacy geological models, the reinterpretation of 145 borehole logs, the construction of the 3D numerical geological model in JewelSuiteTM, and delivering it into a 3D-Explorer environment. The model comprises nine lithostratigraphical units. The Pre-Neogene basement rocks are covered by the Haloze Formation; the Špilje Formation – Badenian and Sarmatian; the Lendava Formation – turbidites and slope; the Mura Formation – delta front and delta plain; and the alluvial Ptuj-Grad Formation. The model has two principal shortcomings, related to currently unavailable seismic reflction data faults were not implemented, and the Quaternary formations were not delimited. The model is useful for regional-scale studies and may reduce geological risks related to exploration in NE Slovenia. It will also support a better assessment of geopotentials and a more feasible approach to their development, and, eventually, will enable the harmonized management of our subsurface in 3D space. This can be achieved using the 3D-Explorer platform which enables the creation of arbitrary vertical cross-sections, horizontal slices and virtual boreholes.
Gorca and Slatina cadastral municipalities in Haloze, which is one of the least developed regions in the north-eastern Slovenia, are examples of the several-year lagging behind in economic and ...demographic development. In agriculture, unfavourable relief conditions provided only for intensive wine-growing. Specific proprietorial relationships lead into the development of vineyard-labour relationships which resulted in significant depopulation after 1945 and consequently unfavourable socio-economic structure of both cadastral municipalities and the entire Haloze region.

The land use in the region is a reflection of natural, as well as historically and economically geographical factors. Among the natural factors in a hilly region, a relief and topoclimatic ...characteristics play an important role, to which belong those climatic elements, that are modified because of the relief influence. By day this one forms local climate, primarily owing to the influence of inclination and slope exposition, which have influence on a direct solar radiation and herewith on soil and air temperature. By night the influence of relative hight is more important. Owing to the flowing of cold air to the valley grounds they are colder than thermal zone, which appears some ten meters higher. Among the natural factors soft soil and lithological structure are also important. In the contribution we have analyzed the influences of the relief and soft soil types on the land use in the Western Haloze, which is considered to be one of the most interesting hilly regions in the northeastern Slovenia.

Količina in raznovrstnost odpadkov naraščata vendar je problem tehnično relativno lahko rešljiv. To velja celo za del radioaktivnih odpadkov, ki nastajajo pri uporabi jedrske tehnologije v ...energetiki, industriji, znanstvenoraziskovalnih inštitucijah, medicinskih ustanovah idr. V prispevku je predstavljen poskus umestitve odlagališča nizko in srednje radioaktivnih odpadkov v Sloveniji oziroma kaj vse je priplavalo na površje zavesti ljudi, ki so bili najbolj neposredne priče iskanja lokacije odlagališča v Halozah in Posavju ob koncu osemdesetih in v začetku devetdesetih let.
