The present work aims to analyze the contributions of Álvaro García Linera to Latin American political theory, focusing on the concepts of State and transition. For this, the Althusserian idea of ...“Marxism as a finite theory” is taken as a starting point, that is, the incompleteness of Marxist theory, and therefore, the need to update its categories in the light of historical transformations. At the same time, some theoretical background is presented in which the works of the Vice President of Bolivia are highlighted, among which we highlight mainly the Chilean-German author Norbert Lechner and the Bolivian thinker René Zavaleta Mercado. Those concepts of García Linera in which we will focus on the pages of this work will be those of state two-dimensionality, point(s) of bifurcation and creative tensions.

Eagleton explores the work of Swedish sociologist Gran Therborn, who has developed a series of arguments on global politics and the changing aims of the left. Therborn argues that the industrial age ...was governed by grand dialectics, but the contemporary period does not have the same binary structure. He suggests that perpetual crisis will likely determine the terrain of struggle in the coming years, and Marxism's status in the new reality is less certain. However, by drawing on left social thought, we can still map the existing politicaleconomic landscape and identify new masses that could transform it. Therborn's work has evolved over time, reflecting the recession of socialist prospects and a more sober and reflective tone. Eagleton concludes by discussing Therborn's assessment of the new century's left movements and the challenges they face in a post-dialectical age.

Marx undertook a thorough study on capitalist society; however, at present his contribution to understanding this society has been questioned, mainly due the collapse of real socialism. This article ...supports the theory that the objective of Marx's work was to understand capitalist society and its functioning. Even current topics such as environmental issues, the main object of this article, can be debated through the guidelines of the critical-dialectical thought. Nature has been a target of the most varied speeches. Sustainability, of which the discussion is promoted by the UN, aims to guide the social processes that fight the current environmental devastation. This paper will examine this argument and propose challenges, supported in the mentioned author.
