Densely-deployed femtocell networks are used to enhance wireless coverage in public spaces such as office buildings, subways, and academic buildings. These networks can increase user throughput, but ...edge users can suffer from co-channel interference and service outages. This paper introduces a distributed algorithm for network configuration, called Radius Reduction and Scheduling (RRS), to improve the performance and fairness of the network. RRS works by jointly adapting femtocell transmission power, allocating user to femtocells, and scheduling resource blocks so as to increase fairness and reduce outage probability in dense femtocell networks. RRS produces a network configuration that guarantees either user or area coverage depending on the management needs. A prototype implementation confirms the benefits of RRS in a real environment. Furthermore, extensive simulations show that RRS reduces the outage probability of up to 50%, and provides better fairness, with an increase in Jain's index of 190%, with respect to a baseline algorithm which works with fixed power and best-effort scheduling and to a previous approach to resource management in femtocell networks.

The spectrum allocation in any auctioned wireless service primarily depends upon the necessity and the usage of licensed primary users (PUs) of a certain band of frequencies. These frequencies are ...utilized by the PUs as per their needs and requirements. When the allocated spectrum is not being utilized in the full efficient manner, the unused spectrum is treated by the PUs as white space without believing much in the concept of spectrum scarcity. There are techniques invented and incorporated by many researchers, such as cognitive radio technology, which involves software-defined radio with reconfigurable antennas tuned to particular frequencies at different times. Cognitive radio (CR) technology realizes the logic of the utility factor of the PUs and the requirements of the secondary users (SU) who are in queue to utilize the unused spectrum, which is the white space. The CR technology is enriched with different frequency allocation engines and with different strategies in different parts of the world, complying with the regulatory standards of the FCC and ITU. Based on the frequency allocation made globally, the existing CR technology understands the nuances of static and dynamic spectrum allocation and also embraces the intelligence in time allocation by scheduling the SUs whenever the PUs are not using the spectrum, and when the PUs pitch in the SUs have to leave the band without time. This paper identifies a few of the research gaps existing in the earlier literature. The behavioral aspects of the PUs and SUs have been analyzed for a period of 90 days with some specific spectrum ranges of usage in India. The communal habits of utilizing the spectrum, not utilizing the spectrum as white space, different time zones, the requisites of the SUs, the necessity of the applications, and the improvement of the utility factor of the entire spectrum have been considered along with static and dynamic spectrum usage, the development of the spectrum policy engine aligned with cooperative and opportunistic spectrum sensing, and access techniques indulging in artificial intelligence (AI). This will lead to fine-tuning the PU and SU channel mapping without being hindered by predefined policies. We identify the cognitive radio transmitter and receiver parameters, and resort to the same in a proposed channel adaption algorithm. We also analyze the white spaces offered by spectrum ranges of VHF, GSM-900, and GSM-1800 by a real-time survey with a spectrum analyzer. The identified parameters and white spaces are mapped with the help of a swotting algorithm. A sample policy has been stated for ISM band 2.4 GHz where such policies can be excited in a policy server. The policy engine is suggested to be configured over the 5G CORE spectrum management function.

The purpose of this research is to develop a mobile application with voice communication technology to optimize inventory control in the company Carrero applying the Mobile-D PhpMyAdmin methodology ...as the database used. The identified problem arises from the lack of improvement in inventory management where counting, inputs, outputs and the search for these products that the company requests are the main causes identified in the research. The method of the research is of applied type, pre-experimental design and quantitative approach where the population is made up of 32 workers of the company Carrero and the sample is still 32 for being a very low population. The results obtained after conducting the survey show that the company needs to improve all processes related to inventory, storage and dispatch and, therefore, it is proposed to improve the mobile applications to improve the needs of the company.
Central nervous system diseases (CNSDs) lead to significant disability worldwide. Mobile app interventions have recently shown the potential to facilitate monitoring and medical management of ...patients with CNSDs. In this direction, the characteristics of the mobile apps used in research studies and their level of clinical effectiveness need to be explored in order to advance the multidisciplinary research required in the field of mobile app interventions for CNSDs. A systematic review of mobile app interventions for three major CNSDs, i.e., Parkinson's disease (PD), multiple sclerosis (MS), and stroke, which impose significant burden on people and health care systems around the globe, is presented. A literature search in the bibliographic databases of PubMed and Scopus was performed. Identified studies were assessed in terms of quality, and synthesized according to target disease, mobile app characteristics, study design and outcomes. Overall, 21 studies were included in the review. A total of 3 studies targeted PD (14%), 4 studies targeted MS (19%), and 14 studies targeted stroke (67%). Most studies presented a weak-to-moderate methodological quality. Study samples were small, with 15 studies (71%) including less than 50 participants, and only 4 studies (19%) reporting a study duration of 6 months or more. The majority of the mobile apps focused on exercise and physical rehabilitation. In total, 16 studies (76%) reported positive outcomes related to physical activity and motor function, cognition, quality of life, and education, whereas 5 studies (24%) clearly reported no difference compared to usual care. Mobile app interventions are promising to improve outcomes concerning patient's physical activity, motor ability, cognition, quality of life and education for patients with PD, MS, and Stroke. However, rigorous studies are required to demonstrate robust evidence of their clinical effectiveness.

This study proposes a post-adoption model of advanced mobile services (AMS) emphasizing relationships between actual use and its antecedents: service ubiquity and experiential value. The study ...examines intrinsic and extrinsic motivational beliefs as mediators between service ubiquity and experiential value. The authors test the model on the basis of self-reported data from 603 AMS users in Australia. The results demonstrate that ease of use, enjoyment, and time convenience are full mediators between service ubiquity and experiential value. Further, experiential value drives the actual AMS use. However, customer satisfaction mediates this relationship. Business and leisure customers are found to be significantly different in their AMS use. More specifically, service ubiquity's influence on experiential value is significantly higher for leisure than business AMS users. Furthermore, experiential value's effect on customer satisfaction is significantly higher for business than for leisure customers.

A hybrid Unicast joint Broadcast Aggregation (UBA) schedule scheme is proposed for maximizing aggregation information and minimizing delay for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). UBA scheme adopts following regimes for maximizing aggregation information and minimizing delay. (a) The nodes in the far to sink region adopt broadcast manner, which can not only efficiently collect more sensing information within the same time slot but also reduce overall network delay. (b) The nodes in the near to sink region use unicast manner to collect sensing information, which can efficiently save energy consumption to extend network lifetime. This is UBA scheme with a great advantage that it can collect more sensing information and reduce delay without shortening network lifetime. Simulation and theoretical analytical results clearly indicate that the proposed scheme can significantly improve sensing information by 25% and reduce delay by 14% to 18% under the same network lifetime.
