La categoría de almacenamiento como servicio constituye uno de los servicios con mayor adopción de la computación en la nube en la actualidad. Existe gran publicidad e información comercial acerca de ...los servicios de esta índole brindados por proveedores de servicios en la nube; sin embargo, la adopción de este servicio en pequeñas y medianas empresas es aún pobre, así como la información de las posibles opciones para su despliegue, en especial las de tipo software libre y código abierto. El presente trabajo identifica y propone una caracterización de las principales soluciones para desplegar el almacenamiento como servicio empleando software libre y código abierto en pequeñas y medianas empresas. La propuesta constituye una herramienta que agiliza y facilita el proceso de selección de este servicio, impactando en la reducción del tiempo de la puesta en marcha del servicio, así como en las inversiones de capital de los proyectos y en los gastos de operación una vez en explotación el servicio.

This paper presents a Cloud-based open source system for storing and processing data from a 3D survey approach. More specifically, we provide an online service for viewing, storing and analysing BIM. ...Cloud technologies were used to develop a web interface as a BIM data centre, which can handle large BIM data using a server. The server can be accessed by many users through various electronic devices anytime and anywhere so they can view online 3D models using browsers. Nowadays, the Cloud computing is engaged progressively in facilitating BIM-based collaboration between the multiple stakeholders and disciplinary groups for complicated Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) projects. Besides, the development of Open Source Software (OSS) has been rapidly growing and their use tends to be united. Although BIM and Cloud technologies are extensively known and used, there is a lack of integrated open source Cloud-based platforms able to support all stages of BIM processes. The present research aims to create an open source Cloud-based BIM system that is able to handle geospatial data. In this effort, only open source tools will be used; from the starting point of creating the 3D model with FreeCAD to its online presentation through BIMserver. Python plug-ins will be developed to link the two software which will be distributed and freely available to a large community of professional for their use. The research work will be completed by benchmarking four Cloud-based BIM systems: Autodesk BIM 360, BIMserver, Graphisoft BIMcloud and Onuma System, which present remarkable results.
Penerapan teknologi informasi cloud computing dalam dunia pendidikan saat ini akan sangat bermanfaat mengingat banyak file yang akan didokumentasikan dan banyaknya keuntungan yang ditawarkan. Cloud ...computing merupakan sebuah layanan yang dapat dikonfigurasi dan digunakan untuk berbagi sumber daya secara bersama – sama dimana saja dan kapan saja. Teknologi cloud computing ini dapat dijadikan pengganti penggunaan media penyimpanan statis yang masih memiliki kekurangan. Kekurangan yang masih melekat pada media penyimpanan statis ini antara lainseperti kapasitas yang terbatas, rawan terinfeksi virus, mudah hilang dan rusak.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menerapkan sebuah cloud storage menggunakan layanan nextcloud. Metode yang dipakai dalam membuat cloud storage ini meliputi analisis kebutuhan akan sistem, kebutuhan software dan hardware,instalasi sistem,konfigurasi,implementasi dan uji tes. Software yang digunakan sebagai sistem operasi adalah ubuntu 16.04 64 bit dan nextcloud sebagai software utama cloud storage. Hardware yang digunakan sebagai server adalah laptop HP N216-TU dengan spesifikasi : intel corei3, ram 4GB, hardisk 60GB. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sistem cloud storage yang sudah di implementasikan disekolah dapat diakses baik dijaringan lokal maupun dari luar jaringan sekolah secara online. Pengguna dapat melakukan upload,download,sharing file ,edit file secara synchronizing dan service SSH untuk admin yang ingin meremote server dari luar jaringan. Dari perancangan cloud storage ini menghasilkan max upload 817 Kbps, min 80 Kbps dan average 249 Kbps. Dan max download 150 Kbps, min 80 Kbps, dan average 130 Kbps.

Saat ini terdapat banyak jenis cloud yang tersedia dan dapat diinstall secara mandiri diantaranya yaitu Nextcloud dan Owncloud, pada penelitian ini penulis mencoba membandingkan performa yang dimiliki Nextcloud dan Owncloud melalui pengujian Quality of Services dalam proses upload dan download dokumen pada kedua cloud tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini Nextcloud memiliki performa yang lebih bagus dibandingkan dengan Owncloud dengan nilai packetloss sama namun nilai Throughput Owncloud lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan Nextcloud.

Nextcloud is a leading cloud storage platform with more than 20 million users. Nextcloud offers an end-to-end encryption (E2EE) feature that is claimed to be able "to keep extremely sensitive data ...fully secure even in case of a full server breach". They also claim that the Nextcloud server "has Zero Knowledge, that is, never has access to any of the data or keys in unencrypted form". This is achieved by having encryption and decryption operations that are done using file keys that are only available to Nextcloud clients, with those file keys being protected by a key hierarchy that ultimately relies on long passphrases known exclusively to the users. We provide the first detailed documentation and security analysis of Nextcloud's E2EE feature. Nextcloud's strong security claims motivate conducting the analysis in the setting where the server itself is considered malicious. We present three distinct attacks against the E2EE security guarantees in this setting. Each one enables the confidentiality and integrity of all user files to be compromised. All three attacks are fully practical and we have built proof-of-concept implementations for each. The vulnerabilities make it trivial for a malicious Nextcloud server to access and manipulate users' data. We have responsibly disclosed the three vulnerabilities to N extcloud. The second and third vulnerabilities have been remediated. The first was addressed by temporarily disabling file sharing from the E2EE feature until a redesign of the feature can be made. We reflect on broader lessons that can be learned for designers of E2EE systems.

Super Computers build on the principle of combining group of computers to provide more processing power than one computer can alone. The domain of parallel computing and supercomputing present ...challenges both for today and future technologies, but building a cluster requires expensive and bulk hardware such as pc's or the implementation of virtual machines. Power consumption is one of the major constraints used in building supercomputing clusters. Low power embedded processors are used in large clusters in reducing power usage rather than use of high‐end server CPUs. Single Board computer such as Raspberry pi has conquered several areas such as IOT, parallel and distributed computing within a short span. The design of cluster computing with RPi and its operations are important to the future enhancements of computer science. In this chapter, design and implementation of a cluster with 1 master node and 3 slave nodes is reported. MPICH and MPI4PY are used for parallel programming analysed speed of computation on each node. This chapter also shows an approach where we deploy one of the private clouds called as Nextcloud on RPi. A user who is using Nextcloud on his private server has full control over his data. One other approach for performance and workload distribution is that we can implement RPi Cluster where any number of Rip's can be interconnected to form a cluster. As this works with low cost and gives high performance these are termed as HPC Clusters. These RPi clusters can also replicate data centre features. We can use these clusters for hosting web services, media centre etc.
