Natur steht. Verschiedene Studien thematisieren den Zusammenbruch einer Pädagogik, die sich nur mit der Wiederholung von Begriffen und Theorien beschäftigt und weniger mit der Entwicklung von Kreativität, Imagination und Intuition.1 Diese abstrakte Pädagogik
führt zu einer gewissen Unsicherheit und Sinnlosigkeit, Einsamkeit und Willenslosigkeit, schließlich zu einer nihilistischen Haltung, die von einem Gefühl der Unzufriedenheit begleitet ist. Kann überhaupt eine abstrakte Pädagogik in Einklang mit der menschlichen Natur
stehen? Um zu einer sinnvollen Pädagogik zu kommen, werden Ähnlichkeiten und Differenzen der Menschenbilder nach den Theorien Jean Piagets und Rudolf Steiners analysiert. Beide Autoren berücksichtigen unterschiedliche Aspekte der menschlichen Natur. Piaget ist als ein bedeutender
Entwicklungspsychologe anerkannt, hat sich aber in seiner Forschung kaum der Pädagogik gewidmet. Steiner hat keine wissenschaftliche Entwicklungstheorie ausgearbeitet, aber eine Erkenntnistheorie und eine Anthropologie, die das Menschenwesen in Entwicklung zeigen und damit eine Grundlage
für die Pädagogik, speziell die Waldorfpädagogik, bieten. Aus unterschiedlichen Denkansätzen und Perspektiven entwerfen beide, sowohl Piaget als auch Steiner, ein lebendiges Menschenbild, das erkenntnistheoretisch nachvollzogen und begründet werden kann.
In 1997, I argued that with the loss of Piaget's theory as an overarching guide, cognitive development had become disjointed and a new metatheory was needed to unify the field. I suggested ...developmental biology, particularly evolutionary theory, as a candidate. Here, I examine the increasing emphasis of biology in cognitive development research over the past 2 decades. I describe briefly the emergence of evolutionary developmental psychology and examine areas in which proximal and distal biological causation have been particularly influential. I argue that developmental biology will continue to increasingly influence research and theory in cognitive development and that evolutionary theory is well on its way to becoming a metatheory, not just for cognitive development, but for developmental psychology generally.

Czwarty wykład plenarny pod tytułem Ciała są bardziej konkretne niż maszyny: enaktywna perspektywa na dynamizm i materializm wygłosili Ezequiel Di Paolo (Basque Foundation for Science) oraz D. ...Witherington (University of New Mexico). Taki rozszerzony model pozwala na analizę zmian społeczno-poznawczych, reprezentacji własnej osoby, relacji mózg-zachowanie (brain-behaviour relations) i procesów zmian psycholo- gicznych, a także charakteryzuje się metodami oraz zasadami związanymi z dynamiczną teorią systemów (dynamic systems theory). Byli to reprezentaci takich towarzystw, jak 1) International Consortium of Developmental Science Societies (ICDSS); 2) The International Congress of Infant Studies (ICIS); 3) Society for the Study of Human Development (SSHD); 4) Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD); 5) European Association of Developmental Psychology (EADP); 6) Jean Piaget Society for the Study of Knowledge and Development (JPS); 7) International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD); 8) Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA). Analizie zostały poddane również przypadki kliniczne uwzględniające np. dzieci z diagnozą ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), małoletnich, nad którymi się znęcano (victimisation) czy też dzieci z zaburzeniami odżywiania.
Cependant, nous qui enseignons, formons et cherchons dans le domaine carrefour de la didactique des langues-cultures, nous avons bien conscience que la complexité de notre discipline exige que nous ...fassions appel a ceux qui enseignent, forment et surtout cherchent non seulement dans d'autres sciences et disciplines voisines mais aussi dans les champs des autres sciences. Je ne détaillerai pas toutes les étapes de ce parcours qui nous fait réfléchir a la notion de temps en sciences humaines, a celles de psychologie génétique en relation avec les apprentissages, d' espace-temps et de rythmes d'acquisition, de complexité selon Bachelard et Edgar Morin, et de ses différentes variables dans la prise en compte des situations d'éducation. Ce n'est pas seulement notre confrontation avec les sciences de la nature que nous devons prendre en compte mais aussi et peut-etre d'abord nous interroger sur les interactions et les complémentarités nécessaires entre les sciences et les disciplines impliquées par nos propres recherches et actions : la linguistique certes, et pas seulement la linguistique des systemes mais aussi et surtout celle de la parole en action, dans toutes ses implications.
The IQ gains of the 20th century have faltered. Losses in Nordic nations after 1995 average at 6.85 IQ points when projected over thirty years. On Piagetian tests, Britain shows decimation among high ...scorers on three tests and overall losses on one. The US sustained its historic gain (0.3 points per year) through 2014. The Netherlands shows no change in preschoolers, mild losses at high school, and possible gains by adults. Australia and France offer weak evidence of losses at school and by adults respectively. German speakers show verbal gains and spatial losses among adults. South Korea, a latecomer to industrialization, is gaining at twice the historic US rate.
When a later cohort is compared to an earlier cohort, IQ trends vary dramatically by age. Piagetian trends indicate that a decimation of top scores may be accompanied by gains in cognitive ability below the median. They also reveal the existence of factors that have an atypical impact at high levels of cognitive competence. Scandinavian data from conventional tests confirm the decimation of top scorers but not factors of atypical impact. Piagetian tests may be more sensitive to detecting this phenomenon.
•Important national differences, particularly the contrast between Scandinavia and elsewhere.•Dutch trends show that IQ gains vary by age which is indicative of the strength of various causal factors.•Piagetian trends provide information conventional tests do not: that the largest losses may be at the top of the curve.

What does a name mean in translation? Quine argued, famously, that the meaning of gavagai is indeterminate until you learn the language that uses that word to refer to its object. The case is similar ...with scientific texts, especially if they are older; historical. Because the meanings of terms can drift over time, so too can the meanings that inform experiments and theory. As can a life’s body of work and its contributions. Surely, these are also the meanings of a name; shortcuts to descriptions of the author who produced them, or of their thought (or maybe their collaborations). We are then led to wonder whether the names of scientists may also mean different things in different languages. Or even in the same language. This problem is examined here by leveraging the insights of historians of psychology who found that the meaning of “Wundt” changed in translation: his experimentalism was retained, and his Völkerpsychologie lost, so that what Wundt meant was altered even as his work—and his name—informed the disciplining of Modern Psychology as an experimental science. Those insights are then turned here into a general argument, regarding meaning-change in translation, but using a quantitative examination of the translations of Piaget’s books from French into English and German. It is therefore Piaget who has the focus here, evidentially, but the goal is broader: understanding and theorizing “the mistaken mirror” that reflects only what you can think to see (with implications for replication and institutional memory).
