All too often, the movies of Sofia Coppola have been dismissed as "all style, no substance." But such an easy caricature, as this engaging and accessible survey of Coppola's oeuvre demonstrates, ...fundamentally miscontrues what are rich, ambiguous, meaningful films. Drawing on insights from feminist philosophy and psychology, the author here takes an original approach to Coppola, exploring vital themes from the subversion of patriarchy inThe Virgin Suicides to the "female gothic" inThe Beguiled. As Rogers shows, far from endorsing a facile and depoliticized postfeminism, Coppola's films instead deploy beguilement, mood, and pleasure in the service of a robustly feminist philosophy.
Doktryna „Sofii” rozwinęła się w europejskiej twórczości filozoficznej i religijnej. Doktryna ta rozwinęła się w okresie przedchrześcijańskim (Sokrates, Parmenides, Platon). Była reprezentowana w ...gnostycyzmie (Valentinus) i neoplatonizmie (Plotinus), w pismach Ojców Kościoła (Atanazy Wielki, Grzegorz z Nyssy, Macarius Wielki, Grzegorz Teolog), u myślicieli prawosławnych (Hilarion, Klim Smoliatich).
The seismic hazard assessment across the densely urbanized region in the Sofia Basin in Bulgaria can be improved through using fault data, in search of which we first aim to attain to a better ...knowledge on the past earthquake ground ruptures. Currently focused on the North-Sofia fault, we investigated whether, and how, the fluvial system responded to fault displacements at a site located near the village of Gorni Bogrov. At the studied site, a scarp delimits a distal alluvial fan on the upper surface from an alluvial plain on the lower surface. Although the scarp forms a complex structure that resembles a breached relay ramp, its fault origin is questionable, because the basin axial stream could have caused lateral erosion approaching the toe of the fan. The electrical resistivity profiles that we measured imply that recent deposits are associated with fault displacement. A fault located beneath the middle slope juxtaposes Neogene sand layers, covered by an alluvial fan in the footwall, with colluvial deposits laterally merged with deposits from the alluvial plain in the hangingwall. The scarp also contains a non-tectonic component related to lateral erosion affecting mainly the lower slope. Breaks on the scarp profile are interpreted to have originated through erosion repeatedly renewed due to multiple fault displacements in recent times. The interseismic intervals of the North-Sofia fault are inferred to be in order of thousands of years but not longer. The inferred interseismic intervals correspond approximately to those of the adjacent South-Ihtiman and distant Chirpan faults; however, they are noticeably shorter compared to the adjacent Zlatitsa and distant Krupnik faults. It seems likely that faults in a broad region on the Balkans release strain at remarkably different rates, independently from their proximity.
•The quidel sofia SARS antigen FIA test (Sofia 2) has an analytical sensitivity of ~54,000 copies/mL.•The sofia 2 had a 1000-fold lower sensitivity for recombinant proteins containing the D399N ...nucleocapsid mutation.•Quidel quickvue and abbott BinaxNOW antigen tests were unaffected by the D399N mutation.•The D399N mutation is uncommon to date and present in 0.02% global SARS-CoV-2 genomes.•This is the first description of an antigen test that is affected by SARS-CoV-2 variation.
More than one year into a global pandemic, SARS-CoV-2 is now defined by a variety of rapidly evolving variant lineages. Several FDA authorized molecular diagnostic tests have been impacted by viral variation, while no reports of viral variation affecting antigen test performance have occurred to date. While determining the analytical sensitivity of the Quidel Sofia SARS Antigen FIA test (Sofia 2), we uncovered a high viral load specimen that repeatedly tested negative by this antigen test. Whole genome sequencing of the specimen uncovered two mutations, T205I and D399N, present in the nucleocapsid protein of the isolate. All six SARS-CoV-2 positive clinical specimens available in our laboratory with a D399N nucleocapsid mutation and CT < 31 were not detected by the Sofia 2 but detected by the Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card, while clinical specimens with the T205I mutation were detected by both assays. Testing of recombinant SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid with these variants demonstrated an approximate 1000-fold loss in sensitivity for the Quidel Sofia SARS Antigen FIA test associated with the D399N mutation, while the BinaxNOW and Quidel Quickvue SARS Antigen tests were unaffected by the mutation. The D399N nucleocapsid mutation has been relatively uncommon to date, appearing in only 0.02% of genomes worldwide at time of writing. Our results demonstrate how routine pathogen genomics can be integrated into the clinical microbiology laboratory to investigate diagnostic edge cases, as well as the importance of profiling antigenic diversity outside of the spike protein for SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics.

Abstract
Background
Real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) and antigen tests are important diagnostics for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). ...Sensitivity of antigen tests has been shown to be lower than that of rRT-PCR; however, data to evaluate epidemiologic characteristics that affect test performance are limited.
Methods
Paired mid-turbinate nasal swabs were collected from university students and staff and tested for SARS-CoV-2 using both Quidel Sofia SARS Antigen Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) and rRT-PCR assay. Specimens positive by either rRT-PCR or antigen FIA were placed in viral culture and tested for subgenomic RNA (sgRNA). Logistic regression models were used to evaluate characteristics associated with antigen results, rRT-PCR cycle threshold (Ct) values, sgRNA, and viral culture.
Results
Antigen FIA sensitivity was 78.9% and 43.8% among symptomatic and asymptomatic participants, respectively. Among rRT-PCR positive participants, negative antigen results were more likely among asymptomatic participants (odds ratio OR 4.6, 95% confidence interval CI: 1.3–15.4) and less likely among participants reporting nasal congestion (OR 0.1, 95% CI: .03–.8). rRT-PCR-positive specimens with higher Ct values (OR 0.5, 95% CI: .4–.8) were less likely, and specimens positive for sgRNA (OR 10.2, 95% CI: 1.6–65.0) more likely, to yield positive virus isolation. Antigen testing was >90% positive in specimens with Ct values < 29. Positive predictive value of antigen test for positive viral culture (57.7%) was similar to that of rRT-PCR (59.3%).
Conclusions
SARS-CoV-2 antigen test advantages include low cost, wide availability and rapid turnaround time, making them important screening tests. The performance of antigen tests may vary with patient characteristics, so performance characteristics should be accounted for when designing testing strategies and interpreting results.
This study proposes a conceptual model that sheds light on how the destination image of emerging tourist destinations relates to tourism satisfaction and intention to subsequently recommend the place ...and purchase its products. Destination image is studied through three components – cognitive, affective, and unique. Unique image has been overlooked in previous research and few studies focus on its measurement. This study uses a new method of measuring it through text-mining of user-generated blog posts. Findings from a sample of 314 foreign visitors to Sofia, Bulgaria, reveal that the affective image influences tourist satisfaction and post-visit behaviour; the cognitive component has a significant effect on all the constructs, except for tourist satisfaction, whereas unique image only influences the intention to recommend and purchase destination country products. Joining together two streams of research, this study also argues that the intention to recommend a destination spot influences the intention to buy its products.
•The study analyses how the destination image relates to satisfaction and intention to recommend the place and its products.•A conceptual model is proposed which adds key variables and relationships to already tested frameworks.•Besides the cognitive and affective components of destination image, unique image is incorporated in the model.•The image components of emerging destinations have different effects on the model evaluative and behavioural variables.
