This dataset was collected for the fulfillment of the first author’s PhD studies. It was collected in two phases. Preliminary data investigated the status of tutors’ mathematical knowledge for ...teaching. A lesson planning intervention framed within the technological and pedagogical content knowledge framework was provided to an experimental group of tutors. Then, after-intervention data were collected in the form of improved lesson plans, classroom observation, and student performance. This dataset is important for tutors, researchers, and policymakers to gain insights into the effectiveness of the implemented intervention, inform future educational strategies, and enhance the overall quality of mathematical teaching.
AbstractAs technology use has become the norm in education, this bibliometric analysis of technology-enhanced language learning (TELL) aims to reveal its current state-of-the-art and emerging trends. ...Analysis of 1,816 publications (1,745 articles and 71 reviews) from Web of Science demonstrated growing interests in the field and core publications in the field. Bibliographic coupling identified eight research fronts, with a particular emphasis on the established flipped learning (FL) pedagogy and expanding influence of mobile assisted language learning (MALL) and digital game-based learning (DGBL). These approaches are at the forefront in shaping English language skill acquisition, especially in writing, with the rise of technology multimodality and informal digital learning as nascent yet significant areas for future research. Anchored in the bioecological model, the research highlights the integral role of student outcomes across various competencies influenced by systemic factors. The study stresses the necessity for education stakeholders to blend technology with pedagogical strategies, a need further accentuated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The study’s major contribution lies in its comprehensive synthesis of TELL’s current landscape and for both future research and education endeavours in the field of English TELL.
Linking a publication with scientific research results and the use of information resources is a key component of the collection, development and assessment of an academic library. Librarians often ...use quantitative data, but it is not easy to come by. Directly connecting library and information services to the impact they have can be quite difficult. Focusing on the 2010–2014 period, we have linked the quality and quantity of published papers to usage statistics for the newly acquired consortia access to scholarly journals in three international publisher databases: ScienceDirect, SpringerLink and WileyOnline. We found that the share of scholarly journals from the ScienceDirect, SpringerLink and WileyOnline consortia cited by University of Primorska researchers’ in their scholarly papers has gradually increased every year, ranging from 13.5% in 2010 up to 24.8% in 2014. The share of scholarly papers published by University of Primorska researchers’ in scholarly journals with the highest impact (measured in Web of Science and Scopus) has also increased substantially, from 18.03% in 2011 to 31.55% in 2014. Study shows that better access to quality information resources for scientific researchers lead to an increase in its use and results in higher quality research shown by the gradual increase of publications of research results in higher impact scholarly journals.

Erasmus Exchange program was developed to increase possibilities for education at international level (ECDG, 2008; Pyvis & Champan, 2007; Keog & Russel-Roberts; 2009; Goodman et al., 2008). The ...number of students participating in the programme has been growing since the program's implementation. This survey was conducted on the Erasmus outgoing 2008/09 generation at the University of Primorska (UP) with the aim of analyzing the main motives for enrolment on the programme. The research was designed to elicit whether professional or leisure related motives are more important than educational desires. The main motives identified have little to do with formal education, thus the authors suggest that some amendments of the Erasmus program at UP could be implemented in order to follow the guidelines and objectives of the Erasmus Exchange program as well as to argue for opportunities for the host cities and universities when addressing this important market segment.

This essay attempts to assess whether the perceptual issues posed by the contemporary interface culture, and the constant attitude shift demanded by the new media between the "natural" and the "as ...if" modes, might be considered a significant challenge for phenomenological aesthetics as understood in terms of Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of perception. To demonstrate how the use of a particular interface profoundly shapes the form and structure of an activity as well as enabling perception of a particular kind, the author does not focus directly on the state-of-the-art smart interfaces, but describes the experience of cycling in a large city, with the interface in the form of the bicycle upgraded with an imagined ride simulator. While the former enables a very particular entrance into the world of perception, shaped by its moderate speed and detachment from the ground, the latter enables techno-shaped perception in the "as if" screenic mode. The experience described raises questions concerning the kinaesthetic, proprioceptive and motor features contributing to the cyclist's mobile perception, as well as pointing to issues related to the reading of the city's network as a particular spatial configuration generated by the cyclist's realtime activity. This is the space-time-event-ridescape maintained and modified by the corporeal act of cycling. The spatiality of such a ride does not presume the notion of a space that contains the cyclist, but builds on notions of being-in-the-ridescape (as a kind of cityscape), in terms not only of full corporeal and mental engagement, but also of bodily literacy. The reading of the cityscape enabled by the combination of two interfaces, the bicycle and the ride simulator, is discussed in relation to de Certeau's account of pedestrian (walking) experience in a big city, his distinction between strategies and tactics, and the notion that each cyclist contributes a novel story to ridetext, which is viewed not as an aesthetic object but as the production of puzzles for the rider to solve. The paper concludes by questioning the capacity of phenomenology to accommodate the contemporary phenomenon of a "mixed" or "augmented reality" either in concept or in relation to the demands of the phenomenological reduction and the ends of the epoché.
