This study aims to determine whether there are differences in business ethics and professional ethics to the perception of students. This research was conducted at one of universities in Indonesia. ...The type of research used by the authors was survey research. Data collection technique is done by distributing questionnaires. To earn value that supports the purpose of this study conducted a t-test to determine whether there are differences about business ethics and professional ethics to the perception of students and college students. Based on the difference of business ethics between perceptions of students it is concluded that there is a significant difference of business ethics between student and student perception. Based on the result of difference about professional ethics between student perception and student perception can be concluded there is significant difference about professional ethics between student and student perception.
Issues related to marine governance still need some improvement in Indonesia, where issues on determination of the maritime boundaries between Indonesia and other states are unsettled, the inadequate ...utilization and development of coastal areas and small islands to the large number of business activities that pollute the sea. This is due to unethical business practices and neglect of marine sustainability. This study aims to examine the development of marine governance from the perspective of international law. The development of governance can begin with the dissemination of business ethics which is an important part of marine governance. This normative juridical study, collected through literature study is analyzed using a qualitative deductive method. The results shows that international law contributes to upholding ethical standards of business and disseminating it to other states. Therefore, Indonesia needs to promote an appropriate business ethics oriented to environmental sustainability. It can begin by spreading the ethic from the international to the national level.

PurposeSociety in general demands ethical behaviour in the business world. The research aim of the paper is to analyse whether higher education institutions of business contribute to ethical ...decision-making in students through a specific training approach based on practical methodologies that take into account students' personal characteristics, which may affect ethical decision-making. The acquisition of knowledge should be more effective when it is based on personal characteristics.Design/methodology/approachCase method, discussion and self-learning methodology were used, and at the end of the term, the students were evaluated and asked to complete a 48 closed-question questionnaire. A linear regression model is performed to analyse to what extent the results are associated to the variables proposed.FindingsThe results show that knowledge is an explanatory variable, but personal characteristics such as gender or empathy reinforce the learning. Gender difference affects the ethical decisions made and empathy, showing that training based on emotions is effective. Besides, the results show that students integrate family influence in their training process.Research limitations/implicationsIn this paper, the authors have selected empathy, gender and instruction. They have taken into account the incidence of age and family education. In addition, other contextual factors can have an incidence on training and the model could be improved.Practical implicationsThe results show that it is necessary to take into account the students' personal characteristics and select an appropriate training methodology to teach ethics and obtain success.Social implicationsThe students graduating from these courses will be future managers and entrepreneurs and will make decisions in which ethical questions must be taken into account, hence the need for training in this respect.Originality/valueThe teaching of business ethics in business faculties is not an easy subject. It is necessary to select the approach of ethic and an effective methodology to achieve the learning objective. This learning methodology must take into account students' characteristics to be effective. The business students are future managers and entrepreneurs who will make decisions in which ethical questions must be considered, hence the need for training in this respect.
Grounded on the Neo-institutional theory, this paper investigates the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) decoupling and tax avoidance in three CSR dimensions, particularly ...community, employee, and environment. A sample of 52 Malaysian listed companies for the financial years of 2009 to 2019 provides evidence that overall, CSR and tax are unrelated except for community CSR. The finding implies that companies do not view avoiding tax as immoral, lending credence to the belief that the relationship between CSR and tax is complex subject than mere ethical issue.
Although not frequently regarded as controversial, digital communications industries continue to be sites of CSR conflicts, particularly internationally. Investigating CSR issues in the digital ...communications industry is pertinent because in addition to being one of the fastest growing industries, it has created a host of new CSR issues that require further attention. This case study examines an incident in early 2010, when Google Inc. China and the Chinese government reached an impasse that produced a large-scale, transnational conflict that reached a head ostensibly over state-mandated censorship, ultimately prompting Google to withdraw from the mainland Chinese market and redirect its activities to Hong Kong. We track Google's experience in China, both to explore its strategies and to consider the implications for corporate social responsibility. We situate Google's drastic decision to withdraw entirely from mainland China in the complex multiplicity of ethical, cultural, and political conflicts that affect this particular case. On a broader level, the incident raises the question of how multinational corporations (MNCs) can achieve corporate growth while negotiating the highly sensitive sociopolitical and institutional environments of foreign nations.
This study explores the institutional history of the urban school system in Chinese cities and tries to explicate the complex social, economic, political and institutional forces over recent decades ...that help to create such a divergent pattern among urban schools. To do so, it first reviews the origins of modern Chinese education, market reform in 1980s and 1990s, an increase of migrant workers in big cities, and subsequent institutional changes in Chinese urban schools. A key characteristic of Chinese urban schools is unequal provision of public education between legal residents and migrant workers. The state has played a crucial role in the change of Chinese urban schools by allowing private schools for the children of migrant workers. Private schools, focusing on a manufacturing model of reducing costs and streamlining the education production process, are highly profitable businesses. However, the business ethics run contrary to the values of public education, ignoring necessary educational conditions and the bond between teachers and students in the process of education. Private schools for migrant students, therefore, stand in sharp contrast to the good public schools that are mainly for city residents.

Background. Unlike pain practitioners, health care insurers in the United States are not expected to function according to a system of medical ethics. Rather, they are permitted to function under ...the business “ethic” of cost‐containment and profitability. Despite calls for balancing the disparate agendas of stakeholders in pain management in a pluralistic system, the health insurance industry has continued to fail to take the needs of suffering chronic pain patients into consideration in developing and enacting their policies that ultimately dictate the quality and quantity of pain management services available to enrollees. This essay examined these self‐serving strategies, which include failure to reimburse services and certain medications irrespective of their evidence‐bases for clinical efficacy and cost‐efficiency; “carving out” specific services from interdisciplinary treatment programs; and delaying and/or interrupting the provision of medically necessary treatment. Blatant and more subtle strategies utilized by insurers to achieve these ethically questionable goals are examined. Additionally, this essay addressed some of the insurance industry's efforts to delegitimize chronic pain and its treatment as a whole.
Conclusion. The author concludes that the outlook for chronic pain sufferers is not particularly bright, until such time that a not‐for‐profit single‐payer system replaces the current treatment/reimbursement paradigm.

Bearing this tendency in mind, through a survey of primary and secondary sources, a review of some approaches currently used by entrepreneurs, such as disruptive innovation and design thinking, was conducted. In addition, recommendations were made in order to achieve innovative ventures.
Is also part of this work an initial theorical approach to management models known as social businesses, spiritual entrepreneurship and neuroethics, which are becoming new ways of responsible entrepreneurship. In this framework, a final thought about the principal
difference between these models is established, which could be the starting point for additional research.
La sociedad hoy está interesada en tener a disposición nuevos productos y servicios cada vez más personales que mejoren su calidad de vida y les proporcionen experiencias catalizadoras pero, por otro lado, también tiene mayor interés en los procesos de producción de los bienes y servicios que consume, en el impacto que generan las empresas en el medio ambiente y en el aseguramiento de condiciones de vida para las futuras generaciones.
Teniendo presente esa tendencia se realizó, a través de un relevamiento de fuentes primarias y secundarias, una revisión de algunos enfoques utilizados en la actualidad por los emprendedores de las nuevas generaciones, como son la innovación disruptiva y el pensamiento de diseño. Adicionalmente se efectuaron recomendaciones para lograr emprendimientos innovadores.
Forma parte también de este trabajo una primera aproximación teórica a los modelos de gestión conocidos como negocios sociales, emprendedorismo espiritual y neuroética, que se están instalando como nuevas formas de emprender responsablemente. En este marco, se deja una reflexión final sobre la principal diferencia que puede establecerse entre esos modelos de gestión responsable, la cual podría constituir el punto de partida de otros trabajos o investigaciones.

In this book, Harold James tells the story ...of the Krupp family and its industrial empire between the early nineteenth century and the present, and analyzes its transition from a family business to one owned by a nonprofit foundation.
Krupp founded a small steel mill in 1811, which established the basis for one of the largest and most important companies in the world by the end of the century. Famously loyal to its highly paid workers, it rejected an exclusive focus on profit, but the company also played a central role in the armament of Nazi Germany and the firm's head was convicted as a war criminal at Nuremberg. Yet after the war Krupp managed to rebuild itself and become a symbol of Germany once again--this time open, economically successful, and socially responsible.
Books on Krupp tend to either denounce it as a diabolical enterprise or celebrate its technical ingenuity. In contrast, James presents a balanced account, showing that the owners felt ambivalent about the company's military connection even while becoming more and more entangled in Germany's aggressive politics during the imperial era and the Third Reich.
By placing the story of Krupp and its owners in a wide context, James also provides new insights into the political, social, and economic history of modern Germany.
