Objective: To evaluate the reasons behind choosing Atatürk University Faculty of Dentistry among the enrolled students in the academic terms of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. Methods: The study was ...conducted by survey data collection method. The surveys were applied to a total of 202 students whom are enrolled in the faculty of dentistry for 2019-2020 academic year and a total of 168 students for 2020-2021 academic year. Descriptive, frequency analysis, and cross tables were used in statistical analysis of the data obtained. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was found that the preference order of Atatürk University Faculty of Dentistry was 8.6 ± 5.5 for the students of the 2019-2020 academic term and 9.7 ± 6.1 for the students of the 2020-2021 academic term. Conclusion: As a result of the answers to the questionnaire questions, it was found that the students whom are enrolled in our faculty in both terms preferred the dentistry profession and our faculty with prior knowledge, and that the pandemic period did not have a significant effect on their preferences such as profession, city, university. Bulgular: Yapılan analizler sonucunda Atatürk Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’nin tercih sıralamasının 2019-2020 akademik dönem öğrencileri için 8.6±5.5, 2020-2021 akademik dönem öğrencileri için ise 9.7 ±6.1 olduğu görüldü. Sonuç: Anket sorularına verilen cevaplar neticesinde her iki dönemde de fakültemizi kazanan öğrencilerin diş hekimliği mesleğini ve fakültemizi önceden bilgi sahibi olarak tercih ettikleri; pandemi döneminin meslek, şehir, üniversite gibi tercihler üzerinde önemli bir etkisinin olmadığı sonucuna varıldı. Background: Researches on motivation of students to choose dentistry as a profession has been conducted for many years. Students may choose to become dentists for reasons such as serving, being ...independent, working with their hands, gaining prestige, and financial security. Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the factors in the career preferences of dental students, their expectations and opinions in the education process. Methods: 1,007 participants who answered the web-based questionnaire were included in this study. Obtained data were analysed using SPSS version 23.0 (Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). The Independent t test was used for intergroup comparisons in the data were normally distributed. Variables in more than two groups were compared using the one-way ANOVA test. Statistical significance was accepted as p<0.05 in all analyses. Results: A total of 1007 dentistry students, 370 (36.7%) male and 637 (63.3%) female, with a mean age of 21.15 ± 1.96 participated in the survey study. 236 (23.4%) of the participants were in the first grade, 236 (23.4%) in the second grade, 192 (19.1%) in the third grade, 261 (25.9%) in the fourth grade, and 82 (8.1%) in the fifth grade. 44% of the participants chose the option 'they want to be medicine or dentistry, but gaining dentistry because of their score in the university entrance exam' as the reason for choosing dentistry. Conclusion: Such studies will be useful for the procedures to be followed in eliminating stress and anxiety in students and in the pre-detection of problems.
Television, as a form of mass media, has an indispensable place and an active role in the daily lives of individuals. Among culture-art programs, those focusing on topics such as discussions, design, ...practical applications and real estate within the discipline of architecture provide educational opportunities for people to learn more about the field. In this context, a study was conducted with students of the architecture department and interior architecture department, who interacted more than normal with mass media, especially television and the internet, during the pandemic process. The study aims to determine whether the architectural programs on television are effective in influencing the career choices of students. In the study, semi-structured survey technique of quantitative research methods was used. First-year students from architecture and interior architecture undergraduate programs participated in the survey. Less than half of the 367 students who participated in the survey responded positively to whether television programs helped them with their career decisions. The majority of students who stated that they had an impact said that they had a moderate or above-average impact. This result can be seen at a low level. However, among the many socio-cultural, environmental, and economic factors affecting career choice, the fact that television programs are also a factor at this level makes it an important parameter.
En 2016, le gouvernement marocain a changé de fond en comble sa politique de recrutement et de formation des enseignants en lançant une large opération de recrutement sous contrats à durée déterminée ...(CDD). L’objectif était de recruter et de former 11 000 enseignants dans les plus brefs délais pour faire face au déficit en personnel enseignant. En dépit des critiques, les opérations de recrutement se sont poursuivies à un rythme accéléré. Cet article se propose d’étudier les transformations du métier d’enseignant telles qu’elles sont vécues par les enseignants en interrogeant, dans un premier temps, leurs motivations derrière le choix de ce métier, en dépit de la précarisation de son statut. L’accent est mis, par la suite, sur leur vécu scolaire afin d’appréhender leur rapport au métier, leurs pratiques d’enseignement ainsi que les difficultés auxquelles ils font face et leurs stratégies pour les surmonter.
Aspects of choosing a profession and career planning are closely related to the description of the features of the image of the profession, otherwise known as the image of the profession. The choice ...of profession is an essential part of life, which has a significant influence upon the person and their further occupation. Furthermore, the choice of profession and job is related to the satisfaction of financial, social and personal needs. Therefore, it is very important that the choice of profession is as accurate as possible and that the profession evokes a strong feeling of vocation. A career develops accordingly, if a person is satisfied with the job and one’s current expectations meet the current situation, then the career development is successful and thrives as individually sought. For a career to follow a successful developing process it is vital to meticulously systematize the characteristics of a particular profession that would help to decide whether one wants to choose it not. Due to these reasons whilst researching the police officer’s image it is crucial to assess the point of view of current police officers in regard to the officer’s image. Correspondingly, the purpose of the article is evoked - to reveal the perception of police officers of the image of their profession. To achieve it, the concept of choosing a profession is discussed, emphasizing the importance of vocation and the path of professional development - career; the change in the attitude of police officers about the image of their profession and its factors are determined. The hypotheses are confirmed disparately. After an empirical study, the first hypothesis - the average of the respondents' assessment of the current attitude towards the characteristics of the police officer profession is statistically significantly different from the attitude before choosing this profession - was confirmed. The second hypothesis was only partly confirmed. It was revealed that the average assessment of the characteristics of the police profession for both men and women decreases depending on the degree of the police officer.
The study is devoted to comparing the career orientations of schoolchildren (N=461) from the Omsk region, who have different levels of giftedness, and the search for relationships between their ...career orientations and migration attitudes. The method of determining career orientations by E. Schein and the scale of migratory attitudes of the individual S.A. Kuznetsova were used. Groups of schoolchildren with reduced and increased educational activity, gifted in one or more areas, were identified. It was found that schoolchildren with reduced educational activity significantly higher than in more active groups developed orientations towards professionalism, autonomy in work, stability of place of residence and work, and the desire to integrate different aspects of life. Migration attitudes of all respondents are expressed at the average level and are negatively related to the orientation towards the stability of the place of residence. The desire to migrate among gifted students has a positive correlation with an orientation towards autonomy in work, among schoolchildren with increased educational activity, in addition, there is a connection with career orientations for managing people and entrepreneurship.

The most decisive in the choice of profession are the participants of the questioning called various factors. Priority factors most students consider "working conditions", the factor of higher education and prestige of the profession respectively; many respondents enjoy working with people, and the financial side (sallary) matters, more than half of respondents explained the choice of profession of physical therapist with insufficient number of qualified personnel in this field, slightly less than half of respondents chose a related profession with medical profession, and a minority entered the specialty on medical profession, parents' recommendation.
Introduction. There is an acute shortage of labor resources in the modern labor market, especially with engineering qualifications. A significant part of university students do not reach the stage of ...obtaining a diploma. Efficient spending of federal budget funds for training of high-class technical specialists becomes extremely necessary. The purpose of this study is to identify the main strategies of choosing a university among first-year students participating in the “Priority-2030ˮ program. Materials and Methods. The goals and objectives of this descriptive study suggest obtaining a more complete understanding of professional and educational applicants’ strategies when choosing technical universities. The questionnaire method implemented in the form of an online survey was used as the main method of collecting primary empirical data. The survey was conducted in May 2023 (n = 1,888). Results. The main motives and factors influencing the professional and educational strategy of choosing a higher educational institution are determined: the characteristics of the university (its type and academic authority, position in university rankings, its transport accessibility and the availability of dormitories); prospects for further employment in the speciality received; the financial capabilities of the applicantʼs family, the main trajectories of admission to the university. The most relevant aspects of the attractiveness of the university for applicants are formulated. Discussion and Conclusion. The authorʼs conclusions contribute to the development of scientific approaches to the study of trends in the development of higher education, the theory and practice of organizing the educational process in educational organizations, the problems of professional self-determination and career guidance, methods of supporting studentsʼ professional choice. The materials of the article can be useful to Russian universities in developing an effective system of career guidance.
