In this article, the author describes the current situation of interpretive choral art in the Republic of Moldova: the demographic situation and socio-cultural processes, which influence the ...trajectory of the choral movement evolution in our country, the challenges of the contemporary society, which lead to changes in vision, approach and resizing of the activity of choirs and conductors; the perspectives of national choral art and the opportunities that choral conductors and collectives can benefit in the century of „speed and digital resources”. The benefits of vocal-choral singing are highlighted and recommendations for theoretical training are formulated (study of specialized literature) and the practice of the conductor (individually and together with the choir).
This study aims to determine the management of the University of North Sumatra Consolatio Choir, regarding planning, implementation, and monitoring of evaluations that have been carried out. This ...study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. Data collection is obtained through: interviews, observation and documentation studies. The research informants were the Chair of the Daily Management Board, Conductor, and Members of the USU Consolation Choir. Data analysis was performed using qualitative data analysis and with technical inductive analysis. Qualitative research is basically building theory, so in this study there is a new theory that is built namely "Service Management". Service here means that organizational management does not expect profits, but the organization still exists. USU's Consolatio Choir, an informal organization, from the outset of planning, the organization has presented the organization's vision and mission to prospective members from USU students and alumni, which in its implementation, the organization's mission went well and everything that was done selflessly and feared God . After the evaluation monitoring, there were still a few weaknesses in non-technical management by BPH. Conclusion of research, choirs can be formed from USU students, or can even be formed from any group who wants to sing in a choir.
Marije u Zadru uz gradski kardo s istočne strane foruma, samostan sv. Nikole u Trogiru uz južna gradska vrata, samostan sv. Benedikta (sv. Arnira) u Splitu uza sjeverni zid Dioklecijanove palače, samostan sv.
Women’s Benedictine monasteries in Dalmatia are mostly located inside cities, and are developed by adapting the existing buildings and adding new buildings in accordance with the church reform. The goal of the conducted research is the architectural, stylistic and urban analysis of some monastery complexes, as well as the layering and combination of residential and defensive architecture. At the time of their foundation, the convents in Trogir and Split were attached to the outside of the city walls, so that with the expansion of the city and the construction of a new defensive belt, they became part of the protected city core. The following monasteries have a prominent position in the urban grid of the city: the monastery of St. Mary in Zadar next to the city cardo on the eastern side of the forum, the monastery of St. Nicholas in Trogir next to the southern city gate, monastery of St. Benedict (St. Arnir) in Split along the northern wall of Diocletian's Palace, the monastery of St. Mary of the Castle in Dubrovnik on the highest part of the city next to the southern walls and the monastery of St. Andrew on Rab on the city walls towards the sea. During its long duration, the monastery's architecture is adapted and extended, and undergoes architectural and stylistic changes. All those symbolic spatial elements in women’s Benedictine monasteries are pointed out to indicate the application of cloister rules in the church, chapel, capitular hall and parlatory.

•The audibility and intelligibility of the boys' choir of Notre-Dame is investigated.•The enclosed medieval choir in Notre-Dame created a subspace with suitable acoustics for the clergy within the ...choir.•The voices of the choirboys would likely be less intelligible in the nave than the position of the clergy in the chancel.•Singers on the jubé may have had visual appeal, but at the expensive of level and clarity of sound heard in the chancel.
This article presents aspects of the lives of the choirboys at Notre-Dame de Paris between the 14th and the 18th centuries. We evaluate the sound produced by children’s voices during liturgical celebrations based on their location inside the choir using acoustic simulations. The enclosed liturgical choir of Notre-Dame created an acoustical subspace in the cathedral with suitable acoustics for the clergy within the choir, but not for the laypeople in the nave. These simulations demonstrate that this liturgy of the Hours was meant mostly for God and the canons who sang it. In addition to testing conditions where the children sang from within the chancel with and without the jubé, we also investigate the situation where the children sang from on top of the jubé as they did for certain special occasions. While placing singers on the jubé may have had visual appeal or ceremonial importance, simulations reveal that moving the singers from the ground floor of the choir to the jubé would have actually had a negative effect on the loudness and clarity of the sound heard by the canons in the choir.

Singing in a choir has long been known to enhance well-being and protect mental health. Clearly, the experience of a uniquely harmonious social activity is very satisfying for the singers. How might ...this come about? One of the important factors positively associated with well-being is interpersonal action coordination allowing the choir to function as a whole. This review focuses on temporal coordination dynamics of physiological systems and/or subsystems forming part or the core of the functional substrate of choir singing. These coordination dynamics will be evaluated with respect to the concept of a superordinate system, or superorganism, based on the principles of self-organization and circular causality. We conclude that choral singing is a dynamic process requiring tight interpersonal action coordination that is characterized by coupled physiological systems and specific network topology dynamics, representing a potent biomarker for social interaction.
All children must have an opportunity to share the joy of choral music participation—whether in school, church, or community choirs. What happens before the singing begins is critical to supporting, ...sustaining, and nurturing choirs to give every child the opportunity to experience the wonder of choral singing. Based on years of experience conducting and teaching, this book brings practical information about ways of organizing choirs. From classroom choirs, to mission statements, boards of directors, commissioning, auditioning, and repertoire, the book aims to inspire new ways of thinking about how choirs organize their daily tasks. The collaborative community that surrounds a choir includes conductors, music educators, church choir directors, board members, volunteers, staff, administrators, and university students in music education and nonprofit arts management degree programs.
Vocalista Angels Children's Choir is one of the children's choir groups in Klaten Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, established in 1997. Most of the members are children from villages who do not ...understand singing techniques correctly or conform to classical vocal techniques. So that when practicing, this group has a different method from the classical vocal method that is standard in their coaching. This study seeks to reveal the typical character traits and the principles in practice to produce a unique character distinctive. The method in carrying out this research is mostly in the form of observations involved in data collection. Written records and audiovisual recordings are the most likely ways to obtain valid data. This method produces descriptive data in the form of written, spoken, or musical words for the group members who are the object of observation. As a result, in terms of sound production, it is very clear that phrasing, articulation, resonance, and intonation are important concerns in every practice in choral processing. In the final packaging of production, this group pays serious attention to dynamics, interpretation, and expression. This kind of knowledge is very useful for developing productive and practical knowledge for the presentation of music, especially the production of music in a chorus that has complexities that are not simple.
