This study aims to understand the contextualization of hadith regarding tolerance to religious and cultural diversity with a focus on the meaning of the text, the historical context of tolerance at ...the time of the Prophet and the contextualization of hadiths . Data analysis was in the form of content analysis. It was found that first, there were six editorials of hadith tolerance using the word samaha which means compassion, generosity and is equated with the word patient. Second, the historical context of the prophet's tolerance attitude was recorded in building a pluralist society in the form of forgiveness, good prejudice, recognizing other religions and cooperate with each other. Third, the contextualization of the hadith that the basic concept of Islam in a pluralist society must be based on the principles of living in harmony, peace and prioritizing spirituality and humanity and ignoring group subjectivity. Departing from this finding, the universality of Islamic teachings is able to respond to the social reality of Indonesian society through religious tolerance in cultural and religious diversity

Management theories developed in the United States and Europe have dominated management and organizational studies. As a result, scholars often overlook subtle cultural and ideological differences in ...other settings as they treat the theories from the United States and Europe as universal. All too often, as they attempt to apply these theories, scholars ignore critical research questions relevant to groups of people outside the United States and Europe. To overcome this shortcoming, Filatotchev, Ireland, and Stahl (in this issue) propose an open systems perspective that draws on multiple universal theories. Instead, we argue that such a solution does not address the fundamental problem of theories framed within the United States and European perspective. Using more of these theories does not solve this problem and may even exacerbate it. We argue, rather than simply placing bandages on existing theories, scholars should develop indigenous theory based on the distinctiveness of local contexts. The use of indigenous theory can also spur innovations in research methods, enhancing the rigor and relevance of findings.

Religious symbol is the generic word for all kinds of religious signs of the divine. It includes myths and religious narratives, theological ideas, particular notions such as karma or sin which are ...defined in one or more symbol systems, religious acts such as liturgies or private meditations that move through and overlay various symbol systems, as well as architectural and artistic symbols with religious content, books, songs, devotional objects, and the like. Generally, it can be referred to a religious object and can bear a religious meaning. This study aims to identify the meaning of a contextualized religious symbol in the Bali Church which is known as ‘the dancing cross’. The theory applied in this study is semiotic theory which in this case is structural semiotics. The source of the data are texts that discuss about the cross symbol as well as the results of interviews with the creator of the dancing cross symbol, Nyoman Darsane. This study confirms that the dancing cross, which is widely used by Christians who are members of the Protestant Christian Church in Bali is considered as the product of regionalization or contextualization of the cross which is the crux of Christian life and worship. The shape of the dancing cross is transformed from the universal shape of the cross which is consisted of two bars leading to a T-shaped cross which base stem is longer than the other three arms but crooked at the bottom like a dancer who is in left agem position. The results of the analysis through the utilization of structural semiotics in terms of syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations revealed some important points namely the contrastive meaning of the cross before and after the time of Jesus Christ as the sign of shame which covers a curse, a stumbling block and foolishness and the sign to be glorified which covers salvation victory and obedience. Other important points to be revealed are the contextual shape of the cross that can be aligned as a dancer who is in left agem position and the contextual meaning of the cross which leads to the sign of obedience of God’s people or the disciples to carry or dance the cross in accordance with the example given by Jesus Christ.
Our purpose with this article is to analyze the meanings of contextualization in the area of Mathematics and its Technology of the BNCC and its normative character. In order to achieve this ...objective, we rely on a qualitative and documentary research of the final version of the BNCC and the training documents: 1) “Transversal Contemporary Themes (TCTs) in the BNCC: historical context and pedagogical assumptions”; 2) “Transversal Contemporary Themes (TCTs) in the BNCC: proposals for implementation practices”. We also emphasize that the analysis was fostered from a critical discussion based on the precepts of Ethnomathematics and Decolonial Thought. The results show that the contextualization presented in the BNCC directs learning towards a labor training, based on the development of competences, with a normative character that approaches a neoliberal conception and coloniality. We consider that the meanings about the contextualization theme favor the epistemological erasure and the distancing of a critical, emancipatory formation that respects sociocultural diversities.
This work aimed to describe and analyze the potential of a contextualized didactic activity for the teaching of Mathematics with students of the first year of High School. For that, we used the ...action research methodology to investigate an activity on the use of cell phones in the classroom in the teaching of Mathematics. In the analysis of the results, two categories emerged: students' understandings in Mathematics from everyday questions, and research as a potential for teaching and learning in Mathematics. From the discussion held in these categories, we argue that by carrying out a contextualized and investigative practice in the teaching of mathematical concepts, we enhance the process of forming conscious and critical subjects.
The swift spread, establishment, and dynamism of Pentecostalism has in its diverse manifestations stirred a multitude of complex questions and dilemmas. While its contextualization is intertwined ...with syncretism, by which is meant the incorporation or attempted amalgamation of different religions with diverse schools of thought, the exceptional growth of Pentecostalism in Zimbabwe far surpasses its connection with syncretic elements. This study reveals that most Pentecostals are diligent and aggressive in praying, planting churches, and living out their faith. Their commitment extends beyond mere words to contextually needful exploits, such as prophecy, healing, deliverance, and economic prosperity. However, their inclusive contextualization has at times ensnared them in potentially detrimental syncretic practices. Problematically, the evaluation of their syncretic practices is complicated by the delicate distinction between contextualization and syncretism. It is akin to the challenging task of removing weeds from a field of wheat, where there is a risk of uprooting the wheat prematurely. Engaging with existing literature, employing interpretive phenomenology and participative observations, this article explores how we should respond to Pentecostal syncretism. Refactoring the development of Pentecostalism in Zimbabwe through a number of factors such as its missionized apostolic governance, diversified economics, transformational leitourgia, aggressive kerygma, and contextualization, it draws lessons from the parable of the wheat and weeds (Matthew 13:24 to 30, and verses 36 to 43) to propose sustainable strategies that can be used to manage syncretism without ravaging the integral Pentecostal missionary being.
The term “waaqeah” in Islamic mysticism refers to a state achieved through specific practices and conditions (such as seclusion, immersion in remembrance, and similar activities), through which the ...seeker attains a novel understanding and discovers an approach to the realm of meaning that illuminates its position in the journey of spiritual development. “Waaqeah” often manifests in forms of lights, colors, and similar phenomena and is interpreted and explained through the perspectives of the spiritual elders (pir). This research, following a definition and examination of the concept of “waaqeah” and an elucidation of its ideological significance, delves into the perspectives of essentialists and structuralists regarding the religious experience. Davis’s categorization of six types of religious experiences, emphasizing their mutually non-exclusive nature, is presented, followed by an explication of mystical waaqeah from the viewpoint of interpretative, quasi-sensory (emphasizing its realistic and non-illusionary nature), and mystical (studying the conduct of Kubrawiya sect) experiences. Finally, Katz's views on the contextualization of mystical experience are discussed. Katz posits that the mystical experience does not occur in a vacuum but is the result of the interaction between the mystic and beliefs, traditions, and other experiences and contexts. Additionally, the presence of a guide in shaping, directing, and interpreting the mystical experience is significant. This theory is applied to the domain of mystical events by examining the practices and conditions of “waaqeah” within a specific religious tradition, highlighting the role of the elders (guides) in shaping and attributing meaning to it. In each section of this research, references to mystical sources and narratives are utilized to expound on the presented concepts by mentioning “waaqeahs” from the mystic elders.
This research is entitled "Contextualization Of Verses About Leadership in The Qur'an" (Study of Political Phenomena of Indonesian Identity)". The background of this research is of the term ...leadership in the contemporary era. There has been a lot of disharmony between religious communities that has deprived other people of their basic rights, resulting in discrimination and oppression due to leadership issues. Even though the essence of the truth of leadership in a religion is the formation of a prosperous, just and prosperous society (Baldatun Toyyibatun Wa Rabbun Ghafur) Islam does not provide a formal leadership and state administration system for its people, however, the Koran as the main source of teachings provides principles universal about leadership in the holy book, as for the form of words or meanings that have the criteria and characteristics of a leader described in several letters and verses in the Koran. Against this background, the problem is formulated, how is the contextualization of the verses of the Koran about leadership towards the phenomenon of identity politics in Indonesia? and What aspects are contained in the contextualization of the verses of the Koran about leadership towards the phenomenon of identity politics in Indonesia? The type of research that will be used is library-based research (library research). The research is carried out by taking data sources from library, then selecting these data, and analyzing these data. This research is basically main source, namely the verses that discuss leadership and how the phenomenon of Indonesian Identity Politics.
This paper makes a contribution to the study of impoliteness. More particularly, it explores conventionalised impoliteness formulae and their basis. It taps into debates about whether impoliteness ...(or politeness, for that matter) can be inherent in expressions, and argues that there is a sense in which it can. An important foundation for this paper is
Terkourafi's (e.g. 2001, 2002) work on formulaic politeness expressions. However, it argues that Terkourafi's strong focus on the frequency of people's direct experience of linguistic expressions in specific contexts, whilst appropriate for politeness, does not entirely suit an account of conventionalised impoliteness formulae. Indirect experience of impoliteness, especially via metadiscourse, does much to shape what counts as impolite and thus what may be conventionalised as impolite. Such impoliteness metadiscourse is driven not only by the salience of impoliteness, but by the social dynamics of impoliteness itself. Finally, this paper proposes two methods for identifying conventionalised impoliteness formulae (one being akin to Terkourafi's method), and offers a preliminary list of such formulae in English.
