Kierkegaards Denken steht ohne Frage in Kontinuitat zur Epoche der klassischen deutschen Philosophie. Dass es aber nicht nur Fichte, Schelling und Hegel waren, die fur Kierkegaard eine Rolle gespielt ...haben, sondern er sich vielmehr explizit in die gedankliche Nachfolge Jacobis stellt, ist bisher nahezu unbemerkt geblieben. Insbesondere in den Philosophischen Brocken' und in deren Abschlieender unwissenschaftlicher Nachschrift' bilden die Referenzen auf Jacobi systematisch entscheidende Gelenkstellen in der Entwicklung und argumentativen Entfaltung der dort prasentierten Position einer existenziellen Ethik. In der Nachschrift' installiert Kierkegaard eine ausfuhrliche Diskussion von Jacobis Figur eines Salto mortale, von der her er sowohl seine Handlungs- als auch seine Kommunikationstheorie einer indirekten Mitteilung' entwirft. Diese so spezifizierte Ethik der Nachschrift' ist vor allem aber bereits in den Brocken' mithilfe von Jacobis Argument eines wesentlichen Unterschieds der Begriffe von Grund und Ursache modalontologisch fundiert worden. Erst vor dem Hintergrund dieser Auseinandersetzung mit Jacobi ist Kierkegaards schriftstellerische Tatigkeit als der einheitliche Versuch zu verstehen, die Freiheit und Verantwortung des Einzelnen gegen eine verabsolutierte Rationalitat in Stellung zu bringen.
The article is a historical-systematic study dedicated to Kant’s critical philosophy. It contains therefore both a historical and a systematic level: for every selected historical example, an example ...of Kant’s critical philosophy, it follows and investigates a selected systematic problem of the relationship between philosophy and rhetoric. The relationship between philosophy and rhetoric is therefore not examined here directly and immediately, but indirectly – through an examination and interpretation of selected works of Kant. In this context, the author refers to the results of international Kantian research, which has also recently focused more and more on an examination and interpretation of the relationship between Kant’s critical philosophy and rhetoric, and based on his own examination and interpretation of the corresponding texts and passages, comes to the conclusion that the relationship of Kant’s critical philosophy to rhetoric is more nuanced than is generally assumed.
This paper analyzes the innovative way of doing critical philosophy that María del Rosario Acosta López proposes in her aesthetics of resistance and grammars of the unheard. The paper examines the ...contributions of two sets of conversations with Acosta López’s critical philosophy. In the first place, staging a dialogue between Acosta López and Black feminist philosophy, the article offers a defence of reconceptualizing philosophy in the 21st Century through a dialogue with the voices and perspectives of the excluded and silenced—a reconceptualization that reimagines the critical role of philosophy. In the second place, the paper calls attention to the crucial significance of Acosta López’s aesthetics of resistance for contemporary debates in contemporary political epistemology, putting in conversation her grammars of the unheard with my epistemology of resist- ance and María Lugones’s concept of complex communication. This second conversation also underscores a new way of understanding the critical and transformative function of philosophy by centering the voices and perspectives of the excluded and silenced.
The reception of Immanuel Kant's philosophy in Poland was achieved in many different ways. One of these was the presentation of Kantian literature in the pages of Przegląd Filozoficzny. Moreover, it ...took place through various reporting sections, supervised by Kazimierz Twardowski. It was up to him to decide to whom and with what work to entrust for review. Reports, reviews and other dissertations were written in a fair, concise manner, reflecting mainly the content of the reviewed work. The reporting section was continued after 1911 by Kazimierz Twardowski in Ruch Filozoficzny. This does not mean that the section was discontinued in Przegląd Filozoficzny. It continued to develop, showcasing the achievements of world philosophy, including Kantian philosophy.
The current study aimed to reaffirm the framing of Occidentalism as an academic discipline that has a more constructive value, rather than placing it solely as a form of euphoric criticism and ...resistance to Orientalism and the West. The decline of Occidentalism as an academic discipline has been caused by framing which narrows its intellectual activities and allows it to function only as a critique of Orientalism. Previous studies concluded that Occidentalism is only the anti-thesis of Orientalism, although how Occidentalism – as a scientific discipline – composes its scientific paradigm, is barely discussed. What does Occidentalism actually criticize and how does it construct its epistemology as an important scientific discipline? This question is important to elaborate on the existence of Occidentalism. The current research conducted an in-depth study of the opinions and arguments of scientists, such as Edward W. Said, Hassan Hanafi, Sayyid Qutb, and Seyyed Hossein Nasr. By investigating the domain of their views, especially on Orientalism and the West, critical and dialectical themes were also classified to find the epistemological construction of Occidentalism. The findings showed that Occidentalism has ontological, epistemological, and axiological constructs which dialectically reveal the weaknesses of Orientalism. However, a more exploratory and important finding is that the epistemological construction of Occidentalism is divided into four major dialectical streams. Firstly, the critique of civilizational values, secondly, revealing the ontological, epistemological, and axiological structures, thirdly, offering a balanced discipline of study, and fourthly the discovery of a new path for Western civilization.
