It is known that issues related to destiny are among the most vivid questions and problems of religious thought and life. As far as the history of Islamic thought is concerned, it is seen that some ...differences of approach regarding destiny have been discussed on political and theological grounds. Because of this debate, deep divisions have emerged among Muslims rather than mutual exchange of ideas and understanding. Muslims still engage in problematic practices and thoughts caused by some wrong perceptions of destiny. It is necessary to scrutinize the problematic areas in terms of the transmission of this situation from generation to generation. In this context, considering that individuals acquire their beliefs and perceptions of destiny by being influenced by environments such as family and school, it is thought that the approaches and attitudes of teachers who provide religious education in formal educational institutions towards the belief in destiny are decisive and effective on students. The subject and purpose of our study is to examine the results of teachers’ perceptions of destiny, how they are shaped and what kind of readiness they are in regarding the issue. In this study, which was conducted with a sample group consisting of teachers working at the Ministry of National Education, the perceptions of destiny of Imam Hatip High School Vocational Lessons and RCMK teachers were tested through various socio-demographic variables and questions prepared by the researcher. Imam Hatip High School Vocational Lessons and RCMK teachers’ perceptions of destiny were measured with a survey method consisting of questions that are different from each other and in which the correlation between them is tried to be kept strong and meaningful. According to the findings, it is observed that there are some problematic areas in the sample group considering the intensity of the answers given to questions such as sectarian affiliation, religious knowledge, being able to correctly interpret the basic reference sources of religion, knowing the basic concepts and approaches related to destiny and being able to use them correctly. In addition, a significant difference was found in the sample group’s approaches to some sectarian issues depending on the age variable. This shows that as a result of this and similar studies, the principles of Islamic belief should be examined in accordance with their authentic structure and the natural difference between religion and religious interpretation should be preserved. With this study, the importance of some methodological sensitivities, such as how religion and sectarian should be understood, seems to have increased further.

The phase ratio is defined as a ratio of reflectivity of object at two different phase angles α. This light-scattering characteristic has revealed high sensitivity to physical parameters of a ...planetary regolith. We investigate the phase ratio of single-scattering irregularly shaped particles with different morphology by means of the discrete dipole approximation. The phase ratio defined at α = 0° and 30° appears to be highly sensitive to the imaginary part of refractive index and less sensitive to the size distribution of target particles; whereas, it is not sensitive to their real part of refractive index and irregular morphology when it attains a high level of disorder. Further, the phase ratio defined at α = 30° and 60° is almost fully insensitive to microphysics of target particles. This feature might help to enhance the scientific return from the future DESTINY+ mission to asteroid (3200) Phaethon.
•We study the phase ratio in single-scattering particles with irregular morphology.•The phase ratio at phase angles α = 0° – 30° is sensitive to microphysics of dust.•The phase ratio at phase angles α = 30° – 60° is insensitive to microphysics of dust.•Our results should enhance the scientific return from the DESTINY+ study of Phaethon.

The social nature of human beings and individualistic characterizing destiny of individuals is contradictory and call for philosophical interrogation. Segun Ogungbemi has unrepentantly argued that ...destiny is individualistic and neither connective nor collective. This paper critiques Segun Ogungbemi’s conception of destiny, instead, argues for connectiveness and collectiveness of destiny. It argues that destiny, as an individualistic phenomenon, challenges and raises the Yorùbá notion of corporate communal existence. The paper concludes that individuating destiny is not only a non-plausible conception; it is also not tenable in any possible social world.

Is something calling us? Maybe the heart knows something we love, but the head is not aware of or does not believe in it. In cultures driven by patriarchal modes more remains unconscious than needs ...to because we lack the means to contact deeper dimensions which could be inherently alive. The narrowing of epistemology is a loss of self. Considering whether the heart has qualities of self, dream, and desire may provide a framework to recognise it in an embodied education and to liberate ways of knowing that can deepen subjectivities and enable potentials that were interrupted to begin ripening again. It may also encourage us to consider our relational agreements and to create educational spaces that refine attention to the hosting of futures. Setting up mirrors to make the heart more cognisable may revive individualities and what is meant to be in the world.

The DESTINY
(Demonstration and Experiment of Space Technology for INterplanetary voYage with Phaethon fLyby and dUst Science) Dust Analyser (DDA) is a state-of-the-art dust telescope for the
analysis ...of cosmic dust particles. As the primary scientific payload of the DESTINY
mission, it serves the purpose of characterizing the dust environment within the Earth-Moon system, investigating interplanetary and interstellar dust populations at 1 AU from the Sun and studying the dust cloud enveloping the asteroid (3200) Phaethon. DDA features a two-axis pointing platform for increasing the accessible fraction of the sky. The instrument combines a trajectory sensor with an impact ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer, enabling the correlation of dynamical, physical and compositional properties for individual dust grains. For each dust measurement, a set of nine signals provides the surface charge, particle size, velocity vector, as well as the atomic, molecular and isotopic composition of the dust grain. With its capabilities, DDA is a key asset in advancing our understanding of the cosmic dust populations present along the orbit of DESTINY
. In addition to providing the scientific context, we are presenting an overview of the instrument's design and functionality, showing first laboratory measurements and giving insights into the observation planning. This article is part of a theme issue 'Dust in the Solar System and beyond'.
In this discussion study, the author looks into the articles that Pavel Kouba has devoted to phenomenological ontology over the past twenty-three years. The study’s origin, in the immediate sense, ...can be found in Kouba’s recent article in issue 57 of Reflexe, titled “Fenomenologie na křižovatce. Zamyšlení nad prací Elišky Fulínové La conception phénoménologique de l’espace” “Phenomenology at the Crossroads. Reflections on Eliška Fulínová’s La phénoménologique de l’espace”. In the study presented here, the author summarizes Kouba’s project and then draws attention to a different path of phenomenology than that followed by either Fulínová or Kouba (before their paths parted). This different, possible phenomenology gives up on the thinking of the nature of an entity’s being, i. e. ontology, and simply focuses on the appearing situation and its transformations. The author indicates that which is, for the movement of these transformations, characteristic, and notes on the margins that movement of such a nature can be well described in Czech by the word osud “destiny”.
Mots-clés : Vietnam, culte des déesses-mères, film ethnographique, performance du genre, pragmatisme du récit médiatique Through an analysis of the movie "Love man love woman" directed by Nguyen Trinh Thi en 2007, our paper will examine how the media performance allows to demystify the "sacred destiny" fiction of the transgender male mediums within worship of Mother-Goddesses in Vietnam. This analysis is part of the gender performance perspective as well as the semio-pragmatic approach of the media narrative. It is placed in a broader context of hegemonic culture and the mediatization of normative heterosexual discourse. Keywords: Vietnam, worship of Mother-Goddesses, ethnographic film, gender performance, pragmatism of media story
