Recent literature has acknowledged the role of CEO social media presence in shaping firm strategic outcomes. We contribute to this literature by invoking the CEO's public recognition on social media ...as an essential part of the CEO social media presence and examining its impact on firm value. Based on the digital gatekeeping theory, we root on public recognition to develop two new measures of CEO celebrity status on social media: CEO social media prominence and tenor. Our empirical analysis reveals that both measures are positively associated with firm value. Moreover, we find that CEO awards from mass media positively moderate the association between CEO social media prominence and firm value. Our empirical analysis reveals that CEO social media prominence positively relates to firm value via advantages from firm sales, reputation, and risk management, while CEO social media tenor improves firm value via reputation enhancement. Collectively, our evidence suggests that CEO social media celebrity status is an important factor that top leaders and firms impound into their firm social media management strategies.

This paper focuses on a qualitative analysis of the ways in which rural and urban teens domesticate digital technologies that are available to them. The study draws from 16 focus group interviews ...with teenagers in the southeast and north central parts of Nigeria using a child-centered approach. Anchored on domestication and technological appropriation framework, the paper explores the circumstances whereby technology assumes the meanings and uses assigned to them by the teens. From gaming, social connections, leveraging schoolwork, information and news, family connection, to self-learning and education, the findings foreground the idea of domestication whereby the teens metaphorically tame digital technologies to suit their realities as children in specific contexts. Analysis foregrounds barriers such as digital illiteracy and other factors limiting children's digital development. Recommendations are made on how to improve children's full digital participation in the local context.
In light of these findings the research generated two main questions: * Why are students in the creative arts currently so intrigued by 'old' technologies? * Do educators see a gap between the old ...and the new, where students do not? * Some of the answers may be found by looking away from the education environment towards popular culture and the Internet. 2.1 The Art of Self-Promotion We all have heroes - as an undergraduate Fine Art student, mine were the filmmakers Wim Wenders, and Jim Jarmusch, and the painters Stephen Campbell and Adrian Wisniewski - AKA 'The Glasgow Boys'. Many bands and artists utilise the digital avenues available to them to reach a wider audience yet they also adhere themselves to analogue instrumentation and working methods that are idiosyncratic and regressive when compared to heavily processed digital recording methods and music tools.\n But in popular culture the production and dissemination of virtual artefacts of self- expression is an exponential curve.
