Precision farming relies on the knowledge of differences in land characteristics, and these enable us to treat any given area with individually applied cultivation technology. This reduces inputs and ...costs, and has a positive effect on soil properties with the elimination of soil degradation processes. This study examines the possibilities of preventing soil erosion in precision farming using spatial data acquired from remote land sensing. This method provides precise identification of soil erosion processes essential to ensure precision farming, Here, we applied remote land sensing for erosion research and the most important components of the digital relief model for precision farming. This was obtained by processing both aerial photogrammetry and aerial landscape scanning information These methods enabled processing an erosion map and identifying erosion risk sites which require altered cultivation technology to ensure precision farming.
The patterns of variation in vegetative indices received by means of data of remote land sensing are described as being dependant on geomorphological predictors and the sizes of agricultural fields ...in an experimental polygon within Poltava region. The possibilities of application of vegetative indices have been explored through ecogeographical determinants of the ecological niche of the common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca L.) and other weeds. On the basis of images of the land surface taken on 23 March and 27 August 2015 by the sensor control Operational Land Imager (OLI), installed on the satellite Landsat 8, vegetative indices have been calculated (AC-Index – aerosol/coastal index, Hydrothermal Composite, NDTI – Normalized Difference Tillage Index, NDVI – Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, VI – Vegetation Index, MNDW – Modified Normalized Difference Water Index, LSWI – Land Surface Water Index, NBR – Normalized Burn Ratio, M15). The data obtained have been subjected to principal component analysis and the revealed principal components have been interpreted with the help of regression analysis, in which geomorphological variables have been applied as predictors. It was possible to explain the trends of variability of the vegetative cover, formalized in the form of the principal component, by means of indices which quantitatively characterise features of relief. The various aspects of variation of vegetative cover have been shown to be characterised by the specificity of the influence of relief factors. A prominent aspect of the variation of the vegetative cover of agroecosystems is variability within a field. The degree of a variation of conditions is proportional to the size of a field. Large fields occupy level plain positions. In turn, within small fields sources of variation are changes in ecological conditions which arise owing to unevenness of relief, which increases in proximity to gullies and ravines. We have identified the aspects of the variation of vegetative cover which by their nature can be considered as contributers to the growth of weeds in agroceonoses. Satellite imaging by Landsat does not allow direct identification of concentrations of weeds, but it can reveal complex changes in the landscape cover, which act as markers of the processes connected with development of weed vegetation. The procedure of further decoding of satellite images for the purpose of identification of weeds requires greater attention in this field of research.
A brief overview of building the radar and satellite meteorology in Slovakia over the period 1965-1990 and application of dispatching locators of PAR, SRE and RSR types for studying the evolution of ...convective cells is given. Further, the conception and implementation of a meteorological radar network in Slovakia, the algorithms for recognition of clouds and phenomena related to the parameters of radioecho are reviewed. The development of a new laser radar (LIDAR) and the application of a prototype meteorological radar with the TESLA RM-3 controlled polarizer are described.
The results are presented of the existing archaeological investigations at the protohistorichillfort of Sveta Trojica (Holy Trinity), not far from Starigrad, and in its wider zone that also includes ...a Byzantine castrum. Although the results of sounding investigations and surveying, anda set of finds point to a long continuity of inhabitation, only further investigation will tell us more about the characteristics of the hillfort type settlement and the existence of a presumed necropolis plus the significance and role of the Byzantine castrum at the foot of the hillfort. Also highlighted is a section about the presentation and communication of the local heritage with an integral approach,initiated by the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, with the achieved and planned effects. Laser recording from the air and the making of a digital model of the karst relief is recognised as an adequate method for future investigations, with an interdisciplinary potential.
Based on decoded satellite images and digital models of relief, large-scale maps were compiled to make a basis for estimating the natural and man-caused transformation of typological diversity of the ...soil cover of the steppe basins in the Altai-Sayan region. The boundaries and information content of soil contours with amendments from the remote data can be used as controllable indicators when creating schemes of soil-ecological monitoring.

Digital Model of Relief (DMR) is a data set of space-structural model of the continental part of the Earth surface, presented in a digital form. It is a subset of spatial and geoinformation systems ...and presents one of the models of Digital Terrain Model (DTM) which includes different digital models of the Earth crust and the atmosphere. DMR is used for determining, studying (researching) and estimating features of the Earth surface for both military and civilian purposes. It has a multiple application in geodesy amongst which determination of geoid; physical 'reality' of gravity Earth field and determination of the reference surface for orthometric heights-altitudes are of the greatest significance. Orthometric heights are mainly used for applying GPS as well as the common Geocentric Earth Ellipsoid (WGS-84). By applying DMR and Fast Fourier Transform Technique (FFTT) it is a possible to determine geoid ten times more efficient with regard to classical approaches of numerical integration, with possibility of using a large group of data that have broad application. Fundamental terms of DMR, its composition, analysis and the possibility of its application are treated in the paper.
