This research focuses on the ability of book-based animated stories, when well designed and produced, to have positive effects on young viewers' narrative comprehension and language skills. Sixty ...5-year-olds, learning Dutch as a 2nd language, were randomly assigned to 4 experimental and 2 control conditions. The children profited to some extent from repeated encounters with a storybook with static pictures but more from repeated encounters with the animated form of the story. Both story formats were presented on a computer screen; both included the same oral text spoken in the same voice but the animated story was supplemented with multimedia features (video, sounds, and music) dramatizing the events. Multimedia additions were especially effective for gaining knowledge of implied elements of stories that refer to goals or motives of main characters, and in expanding vocabulary and syntax. The added value of multimedia books was strengthened over sessions. In a group from families with low educational levels who were lagging in language and literacy skills, multimedia storybooks seem to provide a framework for understanding stories and remembering linguistic information.

Provedena je analiza i izbor najpovoljnijeg energenta za izgaranje i pretvorbu u toplinsku energiju za tehnološke potrebe, grijanje i pripremu PTV – e proizvodnog pogona u kontinentalnom klimatskom ...području. Analizirani energenti su: prirodni plin, bioplin, drvna sječka, peleti i ekstra lako loživo ulje. I uz 1,5 – 2,0 puta veća investicijska ulaganja u termoenergetsko postrojenje obnovljiva drvna sječka je ekološki i ekonomski najpovoljnije pogonsko gorivo za proizvodnju toplinske energije. U tom slučaju cijena 1 kWh toplinske energije je višestruko manja (3 – 7 puta) od cijene 1 kWh toplinske energije dobivene izgaranjem ostalih analiziranih pogonskih goriva. Rast jedinične cijene drvne sječke osjetljivo ne utječe na održivost i ekonomičnost cijene 1 kWh toplinske energije. Emisija štetnih plinova u okolinu je najmanja.
Copper melting and refining include consumption of significant quantities of almost all kinds of conventional energents. Consumption is high in nominal as well as in specific form. This paper ...presents the analysis of energent consumption on concrete example of unique and only one Copper Melting and Refining Plant in Bor, Serbia, for the 7-year-period, divided in two periods-good (1996-1998) and bad (1999-2002), compared with referent year (1999). To get more detailed analysis, all energents were reduced to conditional fuel (coal equivalent). In the process of electrical energy reduction to energy equivalent, we used the value of 0.54 for recovery level of energetic system of Republic of Serbia. Taking into account that energents participation in total costs on copper line is 35%-45%, depending on capacity utilization, their well defined position can be of significant importance for increasing profit.
