Kao suvremeni medij svakodnevnih narativa, pop kultura odražava i oponaša kolektivne fantazije i uvjerenja, često neselektivno usvajajući, izgrađujući i jačajući stereotipne predodžbe. Stoga ovaj ...aspekt međusobnog prepoznavanja u komunikaciji popularne ili masovne kulture i njezine publike postaje jedan od temeljnih čimbenika njezine popularnosti, ne samo za ovu vrstu kulture općenito, već i za određene dugovječne miteme čijem stvaranju i održavanju doprinosi industrija masovne kulture. Jedna od manifestacija spomenutog mehanizma u velikoj ponudi popkulturne produkcije je Catwoman. Catwoman je više od običnog lika i još jedne junakinje u mitskoj galeriji Detective Comicsa; ona je središnji simbol različitih projekcija koje ovaj rad želi protumačiti i analizirati. Kao vrlo jasno ilustrirani hibrid žene i mačke, čak i na ikonografskoj razini, Catwoman predstavlja niz kulturoloških interpretacija mačke, ali i predrasuda koje služe kao osnova za konstruiranje jedne od mogućih definicija ženskog spola. Intenziviranjem odnosa između žene i njezina mačjeg alter ega kroz ovaj lik, oboje se premještaju u kategoriju Drugoga, Tuđina, ali i u mjesto žudnje i neukrotivosti. U ovom članku ukazujemo na kulturološki i ideološki prodor u stripovsku reprezentaciju složene, ambivalentne psihologije toga simboličkog odnosa (i posredničke uloge simboličkog motiva mačke) u naizgled infantilnoj ili benignoj i eskapističkoj pripovijesti kao što je (super) junakinja – Žena mačka. Koristeći feminističku teoriju i repertoar kulturnog animalizma, rad istražuje strategije reprezentacije koje oslikava ova popkulturna ikona kao reprodukcija dugotrajne patrijarhalne ideologije unutar temeljno nepromijenjenih pogleda na falocentrizam, uljepšan i moderniziran tek pseudofeminističkom emancipacijom u “snažan ženski subjekt” kao što je Catwoman. Zapravo, nastavak stoljetne kulturne prakse reprezentacije žene ovdje je predstavljen u širokom rasponu strateških varijacija: od tehnika divinizacije do mistifikacije Drugoga, što je posebno vidljivo u konstrukcijama arhetipske figure femme fatale. U tom smislu, ovdje se kolateralno razotkrivaju duboki mehanizmi ideoloških reprodukcija popularne kulture, koji svoju djelotvornost postižu u sjenama spektakla popularne kulture i zablude da iza plitkog komercijalnog stripa ne stoji složeni kulturni i ideološki pogon koji kobno perpetuira, između ostalog, diskutabilnu patrijarhalnu, pa i mizoginu politiku, potpuno lišenu kritike zbog specifične prirode ovog stripa.

Žalovanje zaradi odsotnosti ljubljene osebe pri Admetu in Laodameji povzroči postopno razpadanje, zato si izmislita figurico izgubljene osebe. Nadomestek nudi hladno ugodje, hkrati pa Admeta in ...Laodamejo ogroža, saj sta soočena z dejstvom, da je figurica ljubljene(ga) zgolj utvara. Spol pomembno določa razplet, saj je Alkestidin simulacrum obenem talisman, medtem ko Laodamejo spoznanje utvare prisili v samomor, ker ji kot ženski nadomestek ne zadostuje. Spolna delitev vpliva tudi na funkcijo figurice kot fetiša oziroma kot dobrega objekta, saj družba moškemu nadomestku ne odreka, medtem ko ga ženski vzamejo in uničijo. Figurica predstavlja materializacijo nevidne ljubljene osebe, ki začasno omogoči, da se Laodameja in Admet z ljubeznijo ubranita pred smrtjo.
Težište rada je na učincima refleksivnog pogleda u vizualnim medijima i njihovom predstavljanju spola/roda. Refleksivni pogled upliće gledatelja u sliku, lišavajući ga time njezinog predmeta da bi mu ...potom bio vraćen kao predmet želje. U reklamama ne predstavlja samo spolnost robu, već potonja, u skladu s Marxovom definicijom fetišističkog karaktera robe, otkriva dimenziju i aspekte spolnosti koji su se prije otimali viđenju. Iz oblika robe proizlaze učinci retroverzije (Lacan) prema kojima spolnost predstavlja robu, umjesto obrnuto. Promatračka pozicija refleksivnog pogleda nije definirana oprekama poput subjekt-objekt, aktivno-pasivno, muško-žensko. Prije je to međuprostor između utemeljujućih i odbačenih identifikacija. Ove druge su iz te utemeljujuće perspektive besmislene i nespoznatljive, ali se u «njihovoj sjeni» okuplja cjelokupno vizualno polje, odnosno djelokrug/vidokrug slike.
Some pieces included by François-Joseph Fétis in his concerts historiques are now known to be “historical fakes”, which he composed himself and attributed to Emilio de’ Cavalieri, Heinrich Schütz, ...Alessandro Stradella and others. He even provided a spoof entry for his invented composer Jean Strobach in his Biographie universelle des musiciens. This paper traces the history of historical musical fakes from Fétis to Winfried Michel, arguing that they are uncovered because they go out of date like other cultural artefacts.
Modern Uygur Türkçesinde “çocuk oyuncağı”, “oyuncak bebek”, “kukla” anlamında kullanılan korçak sözcüğü bulunmaktadır. Bu sözcük Divanü Lugati’t-Türk’te kudhurçuk, Şecere-i Türk’te koğurçak şeklinde ...görülür. Kaşgarlı bu sözcüğü “kız çocuklarının oynadıkları insan şeklindeki bebek” diye açıklar. Ebulgazi Bahadir Han’a göre, koğurçak ölmüş aile fertleri için yapılan heykellerdir. Bu heykeller saklanır, öpülür, okşanır, onlara secde edilir ve yemek verilirdi. Dolayısıyla günümüzde oyuncak bilinen korçak aslında geçmişte bir fetişti. Bugün bu sözcük değişik Türk lehçelerinde Bşk. kursak, Kzk. kuvırşak, Kırg. kurçak, Özb. koğırçak, Tat. kurçak, Trkm. gurçak, şeklinde görülmektedir. Bu makalede korçak sözcüğünün kökeni, fonetik ve semantik bakımdan geçirdiği değişiklikler analiz edilecektir.
Shedding light on the complicated relationship between space and the human being who goes beyond the physical boundaries of space, Henri Lefebvre made a breakthrough with his critical approach to the ...urban question through his concept of the “triad of space”, including “perceived space”, referring to the physically perceptible dimension of space; “conceived space”, where the dominant ideologies are operated; and “lived space”, which is peculiar to every inhabitant on the basis of their background. He argued that space is in an incessant process of production, estranging inhabitants in their lived spaces in multicultural and capitalist countries. He posited that “fetishistic concrete abstractions” provide them with romantic domination to cover their alienation and involve them in social relationships in perceived space. England and the protagonist, Big Mal, in Martin Amis’s “State of England” (1998) stand as exemplars for the aforementioned issue. The postmodernist author fictionalizes a lower-class English man’s everyday life in the late twentieth-century England through Mal. It is set in a school garden on a sports day; however, it also portrays Mal’s lived spaces at home, the car park of a bar and even Burger King. In the present study, a Lefebvrean socio-spatial inquiry is employed for scrutinizing England’s urban identity in Amis’s story under question, within the context of capitalism. In this regard, the study indicates that England, undergoing various transformations in the 1990s, is a space of hegemony. In each part of this urban space, Mal oscillates between perceived and conceived spaces and becomes involved in the grindstone of lived space by means of some fetishistic concrete abstractions albeit his alienation. Ultimately, the study concludes that England as a whole is a politicized space which stretches throughout space-time and is always in the process of production by capitalist ideology, influencing everyday lives, especially of lower-class people and the next generation.
Mekân ve mekânın fiziksel sınırlarını aşan insan arasındaki karmaşık ilişkiye ışık tutan Henri Lefebvre, mekânın fiziksel olarak algılanabilen boyutuna karşılık gelen “algılanan mekân”, baskın ideolojilerin kendini gösterdiği “tasarlanan mekân” ve geçmişlerine dayanarak herkesin kendine özgün “yaşanan mekânı” kapsayan “mekân üçlüsü” kavramıyla kent sorununa ilişkin eleştirel yaklaşımıyla çığır açmıştır. Lefebvre, mekânın; çok kültürlü ve kapitalist ülkelerde, halkı yaşanan mekânlarında yabancılaştıran kesintisiz bir üretim sürecinde olduğunu ileri sürmüştür. Ayrıca fetiş somut soyutlamaların ise halkın yabancılaşmalarını örtbas edip onları algılanan mekândaki sosyal ilişkilere dâhil etmek için onlara romantik hâkimiyet sağladığını iddia etmiştir. Martin Amis’in “İngiltere’nin Durumu” (1998) adlı öyküsündeki İngiltere ve başkarakter Big Mal bahsedilen bu duruma örnek oluşturmaktadır. Postmodernist yazar; Mal karakteriyle, yirminci yüzyıldaki alt sınıf bir İngiliz’in günlük yaşamını kurgulamaktadır. Öykü, bir okul bahçesinde spor organizasyonu yapılan bir günde geçer, fakat Mal’ın evi, bir barın otoparkı, hatta Burger King’de ‘yaşanan mekanlar’ını da resmetmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Amis’in öyküsündeki İngiltere’nin kentsel kimliğini kapitalizm bağlamında incelemek için Lefebvre’nin sosyo-mekânsal araştırması kullanılmaktadır. Bu bakımdan, çalışma; 1990’larda çeşitli değişimler geçiren İngiltere’nin bir hegemonya mekânı olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu kentsel mekânın her bir kısmında, Mal, algılanan ve tasarlanan mekânlar arasında bocalar ve yabancılaşmasına rağmen, fetiş somut soyutlamalarla yaşanan mekânın çarkına katılır. Son olarak, çalışma; İngiltere’nin mekân-zaman boyunca uzandığı ve özellikle alt sınıf ve gelecek neslin günlük hayatını etkileyen kapitalist ideolojiyle daima üretim sürecinde olduğu sonucuna varmaktadır.
It is little known that Nietzsche - appointed professor of classical
philology at Basel University in his twenties - had postulated on the basis
of rigorous textual studies that the leading classical ...philologists active
in Central Europe in the nineteenth century, predominantly German-speaking,
had gone seriously off -track by fitting Greek rhythms into measures of
equal length. Unlike the philologists, influential musicologists who wrote
about ancient Greek rhythms were mostly French. The Paris Conservatoire was
a powerhouse of rhythmic theory, with an impressive lineage from F?tis and
Gevaert through Laloy and Emmanuel to Messiaen and beyond. F?tis and Gevaert
referenced their contemporary German philologists without really critiquing
them. With Laloy, Emmanuel, and Messiaen, however, there was a notable
change of orientation. These authors all read as if they had somehow become
aware of Nietzsche?s discovery. Yet none of them make any mention of him
whatsoever. In this study, a comparative analysis of their musical rendition
of Greek rhythms is undertaken before focusing on Messiaen?s analytical
proposal that there is an impressively long series of Greek rhythms in
Stravinsky?s Le sacre du printemps. I seek to throw light on the resurgence
of interest in ancient Greek rhythms in modernist musical works, and
question how the convoluted reception of Nietzsche?s discovery in Parisian
music circles might have sparked rhythmic innovation to new heights.

In the history of music theory, we encounter the paradox that harmonic sequences are simultaneously seen as fundamental, affirmative examples for tonality (Rameau, Sechter, et al.) and as structures ...that threaten or even destroy cadence-oriented understandings of tonality (Fétis, Riemann, Grabner, et al.). Sprick (".fn_cite_year($Sprick_2012).") has argued that the discussion of sequences around 1900 functioned as a kind of “testing ground” for individual conceptions of tonality. This article goes further in relating historical discourses on the sequence with a contemporary perspective, a study that reveals striking similarities suggesting the sequence remains an important and challenging structural device within the theoretical discourses of tonality.
