The main purpose of the article is to confirm an alternative hypothesis about the existence of significant differences between Chinese and Japanese folk dances, as well as to study the perception of ...East Asian folk dances by people of different nationalities. The main comparable variables were the number and nature of arm and leg movements, head and hip tilts, and smoothness of movement. The materials obtained in the course of this study are eight samples with characteristics of folk solo and group dances of China and Japan performed by female and male dance groups. The obtained results indicate significant differences in the aesthetic principles of Chinese and Japanese folk dances for eight out of ten selected characteristics. All obtained data were checked for compliance with the normal distribution law using the Shapiro-Wilk test. The main analysis of the obtained samples was carried out using the two-sample Shapiro-Wilk test for independent values. The results obtained indicate a low level of potential viewers’ awareness of the culture and traditions of China and Japan, despite the existence of significant differences between the choreography of these nationalities. The basic data and methodology of the present research can serve as a basis for further research in the field of dance performances. In addition, the results of the work can be relevant for conducting education al activities in order to familiarize people with the traditions of China and Japan (in particular, dance).
Ovo istraživanje sadrži komparativnu analizu izvedbi raznih kineskih i japanskih narodnih plesova, odnosno solističkih i grupnih izvedbi žena i muškaraca.

This paper examines the effects of drama games on successful competency development in teaching and education, specifically within folk dance education. We also present the results of data drawn from ...two non-representative pieces of research done among educators (n=30) and students (depending on game n=19–39) regarding the effective use of structured drama activities in the folk dance classroom to strengthen group cohesion or trust between students. Finally, as a methodological recommendation, we introduce a collection of drama games and possibilities for their integration into folk dance education, with suggested variations presented according to the six age groups defined for the 12 grades of public education in Hungary. This paper aims to raise awareness of the possibilities and usefulness of integrating drama activities into folk dance education.
Folk dance is an important tool in preparing students of the College of Culture for teaching as leaders of an amateur creative team. The content of their training includes the choreographic ...creativity of different peoples. The purpose of the article is to determine the necessary and sufficient minimum knowledge about the specific features of the Chuvash national choreography so that students can use this knowledge to implement choreographic productions, improve performing techniques and embody the manner of performing the Chuvash folk dance. The material of the research was the author's long-term observations of the Chuvash folk choreography, passed through personal experience of staging dances for the professional stage. The work is based on the description method and in general is of a review nature. Folk dance is the most expressive layer of the Chuvash culture. It contains a significant potential necessary to maintain the vital properties of the Chuvash ethnos. In particular, it has unique ethnic features and only in some cases allows borrowing from other peoples. In general, the Chuvash dance in movements repeats the aesthetics of national embroidery. Important properties in the Chuvash dance are endowed with hands: women's movements are extremely smooth and slow, men's are sharp and fast. The position of the hands, combined with the movement of the legs and the body as a whole, create a unique ethnic flavor. Chuvash dances have dialectal differences according to ethnographic groups, while they are based on a single complex, historically dating back to rituals and ceremonies.
Folk dance ensembles within minority ethnic communities (Albanian, Bosniak, Montenegrin, Croatian, Macedonian and Serbian) in Slovenia were formed in the 1990s, after the breakup of Yugoslavia. The ...authors present the key reasons for the folklore activities that contributed to the emergence of the so-called minority folk dance ensembles, describe their beginnings and how they eventually became organized, institutionalized, and integrated into the amateur culture system in Slovenia. The goal of minority folk dance ensembles is to dance for ethnic roots, but at the same time, the desire to enrich the cultural space in their new county and to integrate into society in which they live.

The article addresses the issue of the evolution of the dance style and technique, based on different concepts and approaches. In this sense, the following theories are analyzed: the biological, ...psychological, social and communicational, as well as the cultural, philosophical and artistic factors. It should be mentioned that all the types of choreographic art through its interconnection, the interpretative art of great performers, different currents of choreographic art have contributed to the formation and development of the stylistics and technique of the dance, which, even at the current stage, evolves under the influence, first of all, of postmodernism.
The concept of education reform in Serbia as well as in other countries in transition has faced the challenge of creating a functional, flexible and quality education system in a rapidly changing ...society. Some of the goals and tasks of the education program important for the subject of Music Culture are to develop awareness of state and national affiliation; nurturing Serbian tradition and culture, as well as the tradition and culture of national minorities; enabling involvement in European and international integration processes. In order for an individual to be formed as socially responsible with a certain attitude towards cultural and national identity, it is necessary to teach the contents of the subject Music Culture - especially those related to our past, its heroes, tradition, folk art, customs, etc. they emphasize knowledge from the social sciences and realize it in such a way that in each processing of the segment of folk tradition its significance, role, time of origin, social circumstances, etc. are emphasized. With this approach, we systematically influence the ubiquity of traditional values in children's lives. Early exposure of children to musical experiences that include folk art enables the achievement of a higher level of awareness of the social identity of the individual. One of the goals of teaching the subject Music Culture is to nurture folk traditions and creativity and personal identity. Social contents that are closely connected with the acquisition of knowledge from the tradition of the people are in the subject World around us and Nature and society. "The main purpose of studying the integrated subject World Around Us / Nature and Society is that by acquiring knowledge, skills and abilities, students develop their cognitive, physical, social and creative abilities, and at the same time learn and build attitudes, adopt values of the environment and the wider community. They grow up. By discovering the world, children's cognitive abilities are developed, basic concepts are formed and the foundations for a system of concepts in the field of nature, society and culture are gradually built. The value of music in society and its diverse effects on people can be very important factors in creating a cultural identity. Getting to know the folk creation at a younger school age through traditional folk games with singing, leads us directly to preserving the traditions of our people. From today's point of view, it is clear that folk dances with the singing of our country had and still have an integrative social function, since they influence the nurturing of collective identity at different levels of the community, is a symbol of national unity and transmits tradition from generation to generation. The paper presents an example of the social function of traditional folk dance through poetic, melodic-rhythmic analysis of a song, then folk costume, folk dance and folk instruments, based on the presented views.
Video analysis of human motion has been widely used in intelligent monitoring, motion recognition, and virtual reality as a research hotspot in computer vision. Dance is a classic form of human ...motion that is usually performed as a reaction of expression to music. Dance requires a variety of complex motions that closely resemble each other in terms of body postures and hand gestures. It is essential to decompose and monitor the movements to improve the training quality in dance training. To reduce the intensity of professional work in dance and improve the level of dance art, this study proposes a dance recognition system based on the contour model. A Bluetooth-based system is used to collect dancers' movement information. Then, the discrete cosine transform is used to extract distinct features of the contour images and establish the energy map of the national dance posture. The postures in the dance video sequence are combined with the Baum–Welch algorithm to train a hidden Markov model (HMM) with the optimal parameters. The forward and backward algorithms of the HMM are used to obtain the probability of observing the sequence postures. The maximum probability model is considered the posture of national dance recognition. Results show that the model achieved better results with 93.1% accuracy. Through experimental verification, it is demonstrated that the method can effectively improve the level of dance art.

With the development of history, some folk dances are annihilated and lost in the inheritance. In order to protect and inherit national intangible cultural heritage and promote the construction of ...advanced socialist culture, this paper uses information fusion technology, combines national aesthetic personality, and refers to multi-factor theory, construction theory, and distillation theory to design and reform the art practice model of folk dance education. The data of dancers’ skeletal joint points are collected by using multiple Kinect sensors, and the Kalman filter algorithm is selected to establish the human skeletal motion model and fuse the data information of each joint point. Taking the hand_right and elbow_right joints as examples, it was found that the mean value of the error between the testers’ joint trajectory and the template movement was reduced from 10mm to 4mm, and the mean value of the error between the joint angle and the template movement was reduced from 90° to 35°. Comparing the dance movement training effects and scores of the experimental group and the control group, it was found that the experimental group kicked the front and side legs an average of 70 times/minute, the middle jump height was improved by 10cm, and the average score was 3.33 points higher. This indicates that the integration of information fusion technology in the art practice of dance education can realize the practical innovation of college folk dance education and improve the comprehensive level of folk dance.
