This empirical data-driven research aims to unveil thought-provoking insights on the U.S. hotel offer across its 50 states. Information of more than 30,000 hotels was collected through web scraping ...from TripAdvisor. Using such data, 50 support vector machine models were trained to model the TripAdvisor score, one per state, to assess the convergent and divergent factors in customer satisfaction across all the U.S. states. A conceptual model is proposed and validated through the data-driven support vector machine models developed for each state to identify convergent features across the states to explain customer satisfaction (here represented by TripAdvisor score). Hotel size, price, and stars are not moderated by the location, expressed by the corresponding state, although these highly influence satisfaction, whereas both hotel number of published photos and the amenities are affected by the location. Thus, adaptation issues were found regarding amenities and published photos within each state’s offer.

Management competencies are a key factor for creating effective and attractive hotel offer for hotels that will be competitive in the international tourism market. Managers, as holders of the entire ...process of planning, organizing, motivating and controlling of hotel activities have been placed in front of the challenge to productively use their knowledge, skills, attitudes and experiences in formulating effective development strategies that will enable realization of the objectives of the hotel. Proceeding from this, the goal of the paper is through theoretical and empirical research is to consider the management skills as a factor for the development of the hotel running in Kosovo. In addition, by applying the techniques of surveying and depth interview of managers and surveys of employees and hotel guests will see the positives, but also the shortcomings of the hotel offer in terms of managerial competence. Based on the findings, recommendations will be given for improving management competencies and through them the hotel offer in Kosovo.
International tourism has a leading position in the world's economy at the end of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. The number of participants in international tourism is ...near one billion tourists. Tourism FX income is above USD 1.260 billion, globally. More than 2/3 of total tourism turn over is provided by hospitality and restaurants business, which is the best indicator of relevance of those industries, for further development of total economic development and the tourism. Projections of different relevant world's institutions go in direction that tourism will have dynamic developing trend which will provide its' stronger position in the world's industry development. In accordance with UNWTO's estimations, number of foreign tourists will increase up to 1.8 million and FX tourist income is expected to reach USD 2.000 billion at the end of 2030. In order to meet the sophisticated requests of the modern tourists and provide an answer to contemporary market trends, hotel industry, as the base part of tourism, will respond with the new qualitative, technology based facilities and services.
