This article discusses the relationship between Christology and discipleship. It argues that Christology is the driving force, or trigger, behind becoming a disciple of Jesus and can also be used to revitalize existing disciples. The first part of the article examines the use of the term mathētēs, asking the question, “Who is directly or indirectly called a disciple of Jesus?” The second part explores concepts related to discipleship, which provides a basis for the third part of the article, which delves into why someone becomes a disciple of Jesus, i.e., questions of motivation. Since the topic is extensive, this section will only focus on the parts of the Gospel that contain explicit Christological titles and where the response to Jesus is positive. Since, in the Gospel of John, Christology is the means of initiating discipleship, the fourth part analyzes whether the main message of the gospel is centered on Christology or soteriology and how different messages impact discipleship. The article concludes that the Gospel of John emphasizes Christology as the center of its message rather than focusing on man’s fallen state and need for salvation. It also states that Christology triggers discipleship and plays a crucial role in motivating believers to commitment, zeal, sanctification, and sacrificial service within the Church today.

Papinska biblijska komisija objavila je dokument
Biblija i kristologija
Biblija i kristologija

and the Christology of C. Schönborn is at the heart of this article. While the first chapter is devoted to the messianic promises in the OT, the second chapter talks about their fulfillment in Jesus of Nazareth. The third chapter of this paper focuses on the Christology of C. Schönborn and its respect for the integrity of the biblical testimony of Christ. In the conclusion of the paper, the author points out that modern biblical sciences emphasize the need for a new examination of the relationship between the promises present in the OT and the view of those promises and their fulfillment in the NT. This means that Christology also faces a new demand to rethink the relationship between the Bible and Christology.
The author of this paper presents the development of the theology of Christian Rome in the first centuries through the thought of some of the most important authors and theological systems. Thus, aware of the pluralism of opinions and conceptions that characterized the theology of Christian Rome, he confines himself to only some of the most important texts. The work as such is divided into several points that influenced the development of theological thought in the capital of the Roman Empire, then the hierarchical organization of the original Church in Rome. The author then places emphasis on the main points of Roman theology in the first three centuries through the most important texts that marked this development of theological thought.

Leo the Great wrote
The Letter to Flavian
in 449 as a Christological sermon against Eutyches’ monophysite doctrine. This article, written in two parts, presents and analyzes the reception of Leo’s Letter at the first five Chalcedonian sessions. For each session, we first provide general information and then examine the minutes from the session. The fourth and fifth sessions are covered here. It is shown that at the fourth session, the fathers solemnly expressed their agreement with Leo’s Letter, and they considered it one of the fundamental documents of orthodox Christology. At the fifth session, during the discussions on the

U teološkoj tradiciji Franjevačkoga reda pronalazimo mnoge zanimljive autore i njihova još nedovoljno istražena djela. Početcima franjevačke teologije pripada i djelo Summa theologica fratris ...Alexandri ili Summa Halensis, u kojem nalazimo temelje franjevačke teološke škole. Prvi franjevački teolozi, zajedno s Aleksandrom Haleškim, u svom radu promišljaju i o kristološkim temama. U ovom će se radu analizirati i prikazati njihovo teološko učenje o otajstvu utjelovljenja Sina Božjega, tj. razlozima Božjeg postajanja čovjekom.
In the rich tradition of the Franciscan theology, we can find lots of interesting authors and not enough researched operas. Summa Halensis makes part of the initiate period of the Franciscan theology in which we can find the fundaments of the Franciscan theology school. First of the Franciscan theologians, including Alexander of Hales, observed christological subjects and themes in their work. In this work we will analyse and show his theological studies about the incarnation of the Son of God, or even better said: about the reasons of „Godbecoming-a-man“. First part of this work demonstrates christological subjects of the Summa Halensis, and the second part talks about the convenience of the Gods incarnation. In the third part of this work the authors are analysing the parts of the texts of the Summa connecting their theological argumentation. Incarnation, observed and understood as God’s initiative established on the freedom of God’s will and practised with his plan of the salvation is explained in the fourth chapter of this work. The aim and the purpose of this work is the research of the teaching of the Franciscan theologians who had their part in the writing of Summa Halensis about the incarnation with a special accent added to analysing the reasons of the „God-becoming-a-man“ and systematic approach and analysing their fundamental theological thesis (from Summa Halensis) about the reasons and the convenience of the Logos incarnation.
Poslanicu Flavijanu
Leo the Great wrote
The Letter to Flavian
in 449 as a Christological sermon against Eutyches’ monophysite doctrine. It went through a difficult path from being completely ignored at the “Robber Synod” of Ephesus in 449 to unanimous acceptance, after certain disputes, at the Council of Chalcedon in 451. The aim of this paper is to present and analyze the reception of Leo’s Letter at the first five Chalcedonian sessions. For each session, we first provide general information and then examine the minutes from the session. The article will be published in two parts. The first three sessions are covered here. We show that in the first and second sessions, there was no specific discussion about the theological content of Leo’s Letter, but also that the fathers declared they considered it an extremely important Christological writing. At the third session, the letter was compared to the most important documents of orthodox Christology, whose teaching had to be agreed to.
The initial question of this article, inspired by Walter Kasper´s statements, is: If mercy, by definition, necessarily includes suffering, can one even talk about it (as Kasper claims) as God´s fundamental characteristic and a determinant of God´s essence, given our belief that God cannot suffer? This issue is approached in the article in Christological fashion on the basis of reflections of selected Church Fathers in whose works God´s mercy is discussed in the context of specifically Christological reflections. The first chapter provides a short overview of God´s merciful activity in the whole history of salvation and it is pointed out that the grandest and most splendid act of God´s mercy – the incarnation, suffering, and death of Jesus Christ – is closely linked to it. The second chapter demonstrates that for Fathers the word mercy, used in the context of explaining motives and reasons for the incarnation, suffering, and death of the Son of God, was a terminus technicus. The point of using this terminus technicus was to preserve the tension between the truth about the eternal Logos, who cannot suffer, and the fact that this same Logos became, at the end of time, a human being and endured suffering and death on the cross. The third chapter addresses the patristic texts in which the mercy of incarnation, suffering, and death of the Son of God is presented as the most splendid act of God and the grandest manifestation of his mercy. This understanding also rejects any doubt that the Son who suffered might be subordinated to the Father. In the last, fourth chapter entitled "Mercy and Hypostatic Union", the attention is drawn to those places in patristic writings where mercy is being mentioned within the context of Christological reflections. These reflections follow closely the Chalcedonian dogmatic definitions on one and the same Jesus Christ, the Son of God who has two natures conjoined in one person or hypostasis in which both natures preserve their characteristics. The conclusion points out that the initial question can be answered both positively and negatively. If the person of the Son of God is viewed in his inner Trinitarian reality, then one cannot state that mercy is the fundamental characteristic of his being, because this would imply that the Divine nature can suffer. If, on the other hand, he is viewed within the context of the history of salvation, whose pinnacle has been reached through him becoming a human being and his suffering, and if one would add to this the theological claim that the hypostatic union implies the possibility (and necessity) of ascribing characteristics of human nature to the eternal person of the Father´s Word, then the answer has to be positive. At the end, the descriptions of Jesus Christ as "mercy in the person" or "personalised mercy" are suggested as the most appropriate for the mystery of mercy revealed in the event of Jesus Christ.
Unlike any other point in history, our times are characterized by the search for authentic Christian witness, which would act as a part of an apologetic answer to the question posed by the nature of our postmodern world. This much needed witness of faith which at its root contains love in action fills the empty concepts of life, while giving hope of overcoming the feeling of deep inner divorce, which the modern man has made his own. In the constant need for renewal of each individual, The Church, and society witnesses have a special place. These witnesses are men and women who themselves have become beacons of faith, hope and charity. Without a doubt, fr. Didak Buntić is one such example. A Franciscan in the province of Herzegovina, he was a priest, teacher, protector and defender of the poor. Through decades of work in the fields of spirituality, economy, faith, moral, cultural, and political life in Herzegovina, fr. Didak – lead by the love for God and man – became a living Gospel from which proceeded the strength of Christs love. As a constant preacher and witness of the Kingdom of God fr. Didak Buntić, through his life, gave the answer to the fundamental Christological question: Who are you, Jesus Christ? This work aims to give the answer to his question on a series of levels.
