...in order to win, you have to beat Zerg early in the game or you will likely lose a long game of attrition all else being equal," Puangmalai said. ...Shopify is well past the 'early game' stage of ...online commerce so it will be interesting to see how things play out for Shopify long term." In January, Lütke, during a 2.5-hour interview on The Pylon Show, a StarCraft talk show, said video games have taught him a lot of business lessons, including how to allocate resources, make decisions with incomplete information and how time and attention can be the most precious things to carefully budget.

The good times for the thousands of visitors were tempered with some controversy on the floor, however. Pat Hoey tossed out Skip Chernov of the Providence Beer Co. for pouring too much beer with each ...sample. Brewers were only supposed to pour 2 to 3 ounces of brew, but Centrum workers said Chernov was pouring 4 ounces per sample. Chernov's booth was surrounded by at least six Centrum staffers as he packed up his supplies. Two police officers stood by. Chernov said he complied with the policy after he was asked, but Hoey said Chernov had been warned a number of times. With a small brewery in Marlboro, Scott Lutke made 150 barrels of beer over the last year. There are 31 gallons - or 14 cases - per barrel. Lutke expects to triple the amount of beer he brewed this year, now that he is working full time with his brewery.
As Ms Angela Merkel said in her inaugural speech as chancellor last year, unity "was the biggest surprise of my life, and after this, one believes many things are possible". Last month she went ...further, telling journalists in Halle, east Germany: "The fact that easterners have been, and still are, ready to accept such transformations is a good sign for Germany as a whole, because the whole of Germany must change." Mr Engelbert Lutke Daldrup adds: "It would be exaggerated to say that eastern Germany is already the reform laboratory for the whole of Germany but, in certain areas, there is clear evidence that eastern German experiences are being repeated in western Germany, with positive results. This is a transfer process that could be of use for Germany as a whole." Ultimately, however, says Mr Wolfgang Thierse, Germans must see reunification in the broad sweep of history. Western states such as Bavaria, Germany's richest region, took 30 years or more after the second world war to attain current levels of prosperity, so feelings of frustration "a mere 16 years after unity" lack perspective. The implication is clear: only when Germany is prepared to take the best from both east and west will it fully embrace its identity as a unified nation.
