Obsevanje v področju trebuha in medenice je povezano s pojavom akutnih stranskih učinkov organov, ki se nahajajo v bližini obsevalnega tarčnega volumna. Prizadeto je predvsem tkivo z visoko ...proliferativno aktivnostjo celic - sluznice sečnega mehurja in gastrointestinalnega trakta, kostni mozeg in koža. Osnovni mehanizem nastanka je poškodba zarodnih celic, ki poruši ravnotežje med odmiranjem zrelih celic in nastajanjem novih. Temu se pridruži še vnetni odziv. Simptomi se običajno pojavijo 2 do 3 tedne po začetku obsevanja in trajajo še nekaj tednov po zaključku zdravljenja. Izrednega pomena je spodbujanje bolnikov k ustreznim preventivnim ukrepom. Zdravljenje je konzervativno in odvisno od stopnje izraženosti težav.
Pri bolnikih z lokalno in/ali regionalno napredovalim karcinomom danke je po trenutno veljavnih smernicah indicirano predoperativno zdravljenje. V prispevku je prikazan klinični primer starejšega ...bolnika s karcinomom danke v kliničnem stadiju T4 N0 M0, ki je bil zdravljen s predoperativnim obsevanjem medenice po kratkem režimu 5 x 5 Gy, čemur je po šestih tednih sledila abdominoperinealna ekscizija. Ob patološki kompletni remisiji bolnik pooperativne kemoterapije ni prejemal in je bil ob zadnji kontroli, slabo leto in pol po operaciji, brez znakov za ponovitev bolezni.
Background: Despite enormous development of modern traumatology in recent years, there are still some unanswered questions on specific fields of traumatology (acetabulum and pelvic surgery). In ...cooperation with computer technology the tools for computer assisted orthopedic surgery and computer planning of surgery were developed. Together with computer engineers we have developed computer tool for preoperative planning and virtual surgery for injuries of pelvis and acetabulum.Methods: Data for planning is gained from CT scans of real patient in DICOM format. With segmentation of data the fragments are marked as individual objects. These free objects can be moved and rotated. At the end of virtual operation exact report is produced.Results: Illustrative case of planning using this programe will be presented. The results of small study are presented as well.Conclusions: Despite numerous systems for computer assisted orthopedic surgery there are only few centers that routinely use them. These systems are very useful in precise implant insertion, but they cannot enable reduction of the fragments in minimally invasive surgery. Our program enables virtual operations and learning of this non-routine surgery.

According to the new constitution, the supreme state prosecutor and state prosecutors are being appointed for five years and dismissed by the parliament and the prosecutor's council which "ensures ...the independence" of the prosecutor's offices and prosecutors themselves. "The new constitution fails to explain who nominates candidates for supreme state prosecutor and state prosecutor posts, it does not say who the members of the prosecutor's council are," the Gosovic's statement says. Vesna Medenica yesterday told Republika that the new constitution "fully guarantees the independence of the state prosecutor's office" and that the most important thing is to have this as "constitutional categories".
