Background: This study aimed to evaluate ChatGPT’s performance accuracy in responding to questions from the national dental hygienist examination. Moreover, through an analysis of ChatGPT’s incorrect ...responses, this research intended to pinpoint the predominant types of errors.
Methods: To evaluate ChatGPT-3.5’s performance according to the type of national examination questions, the researchers classified 200 questions of the 49th National Dental Hygienist Examination into recall, interpretation, and solving type questions. The researchers strategically modified the questions to counteract potential misunderstandings from implied meanings or technical terminology in Korea. To assess ChatGPT-3.5’s problem-solving capabilities in applying previously acquired knowledge, the questions were first converted to subjective type. If ChatGPT-3.5 generated an incorrect response, an original multiple-choice framework was provided again. Two hundred questions were input into ChatGPT-3.5 and the generated responses were analyzed. After using ChatGPT, the accuracy of each response was evaluated by researchers according to the types of questions, and the types of incorrect responses were categorized (logical, information, and statistical errors). Finally, hallucination was evaluated when ChatGPT provided misleading information by answering something that was not true as if it were true.
Results: ChatGPT’s responses to the national examination were 45.5% accurate. Accuracy by question type was 60.3% for recall and 13.0% for problem-solving type questions. The accuracy rate for the subjective solving questions was 13.0%, while the accuracy for the objective questions increased to 43.5%. The most common types of incorrect responses were logical errors 65.1% of all. Of the total 102 incorrectly answered questions, 100 were categorized as hallucinations.
Conclusion: ChatGPT-3.5 was found to be limited in its ability to provide evidence-based correct responses to the Korean national dental hygiene examination. Therefore, dental hygienists in the education or clinical fields should be careful to use artificial intelligence-generated materials with a critical view.
This study aims to identify the difficulties experienced by students in learning chemistry. Besides, this study also aims to identify the factors causing the low interest in the National Examination ...of chemistry and determine students' interest in chemistry in the National Examination. This research is a type of descriptive research with a survey method. The population in this study was MAN in Sleman Regency and 3 of them were selected as samples. Sampling is done by stratified random sampling based on the value and number of chemical enthusiasts into 3 subpopulations. Data collection techniques in this study were closed questionnaires, interviews, and documents. The research instruments used were questionnaire sheets, interview guidelines, and documents. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics using percentages. The validity of the data used is technical triangulation. The results showed students' interest in chemistry subjects in the National Examination was included in the low category with a percentage of 15.2%.
This study aims to analyze the learning outcome of mathematics and sciences in the Indonesian National Examination from 2015 to 2018 of MTs (Islamic secondary school). The results of the analysis are ...used as the basis for making alternative policy as a possible way to improve the quality of mathematics and science learning. With the sample size of 360, 371 MTs students in East Java, the achievement was measured by using 40 multiple choice questions with each having four answer options. Split-plot and latent profile analysis of the data show that there was a consistent decrease in the achievement of mathematics and sciences of the moderate group of MTs from 2015 to 2018 with a dramatic drop in mathematics and tendency to drop for science. The fundamental implication of these findings is that there is a need for learning innovations to improve mathematics and science learning outcomes for 21st century learning. The findings can also provide data support for decision making for the revision of the mathematics and science curriculum and can be further used as empirical evidence for the developed countries in finding ways to improve the quality of mathematics and science learning outcomes for 21st century learning, in particular, to assist the developing countries such as Indonesia.

The results of the study revealed that social demand for dental hygienists has steadily increased and policies and education have been revised accordingly. The work roles of dental hygienists have expanded to meet the needs of the treatment and those of public health fields. In line with major policy changes, the educational period has been extended from 1 year to 3 or 4 years, while the mandatory credits for graduation have been established. Licensing examinations were being performed by the local governments since 1948 due to the different situations of dental hygienists in different areas. In 1992, they were converted into a single national examination. The work roles have expanded from assisting dental treatments to health guidance, home care, and perioperative care. Consequently, the number of dental hygienists has increased, especially in healthcare facilities for the elderly. Dental hygienists perform various roles. However, the most essential role is to provide the best oral care services to the patient. The expected role of dental hygienists has expanded in alignment with public healthcare needs and support for the elderly. The government and universities are expected to bring about improvements such as diversifying the channels of education and establishing policies to respond to growing patient needs by cultivating excellent dental hygiene professionals.
From 2004 to 2018, the national examination (NE) has undergone three policy changes regarding its role in determining graduation. The NE score was decided to be the sole determining factor for ...student graduation in the period 2004 to 2010, with the school examination score being the determinant of student graduation from 2011 to 2015 and no longer a determinant of student graduation from 2016 to 2018 period. This study aimed to analyze the pattern of influence of the NE policy as a determinant of graduation on student achievement at junior, senior, and vocational high schools. This study used data on student achievement for 15 years in the subjects tested on the NE obtained from the Research and Development Center of the Indonesian Ministry of National Education. Data analysis was done descriptively by estimating students' mean achievement on the NE and then analyzing the mean trend. By analyzing the trend of student scores' mean on the subjects tested on the NE at the junior high school, senior high school, and vocational high school levels, the mean tends to increase in the period 2004 to 2010, tends to be less stable and decrease in the period 2011 to 2015, and tends to decline again when the NE score is no longer used as a determinant of graduation in the period 2016 to 2018. These results indicate that the policy on using NE scores in determining graduation influences student achievement in junior high school, senior high school, and vocational high school levels.

This study aims to classify high schools in Papua Province, Indonesia, based on the 2019 National Examination scores so they can be considered in maintaining the sustainability of school quality in ...Papua. In this study, all senior high schools in Papua Province were grouped into three clusters: Cluster 1 (high), Cluster 2 (medium), and Cluster 3 (low clusters) using the K-Means Algorithm on the 2019 National Examination data. The data were obtained through the website official Center of Educational Assessment of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Clarification was done by grouping data on national examination scores from each school based on the similarity of the data with data from other schools. The results of the high school clustering using the K-Means Algorithm show that 18 schools are in Cluster 1, 58 schools in Cluster 2, and 68 schools in Cluster 3. The results of the analysis of the K-Means Algorithm show an R2 value of 0.723 and a Silhouette score of 0.42.
This research analyzed the quality of National Examination questions on Natural science subjects in elementary schools. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Response data were ...obtained from 250 grade VI elementary school students who responded on the tryout questions. This study was a descriptive study with a quantitative approach to describe the quality of the elementary school science test try-out items. The quality of this question is described quantitatively which includes an index of difficulty level and discriminatory power of questions. The data was collected using a test technique using a test instrument consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions. The analysis was carried out using the BILOG-MG version 4 application to obtain the parameters of distinguishing power and grain difficulty level. Based on the model fit analysis, it was found that the most appropriate model to use for the analysis of the science tryout questions for elementary schools was item response theory (IRT) with the 2PL model. The study concluded that the National Examination questions on science subjects in elementary schools had met the criteria for the level of difficulty and distinguishing power so that they could be said to be in a good category.
