Nieakceptowalne społecznie zachowanie Choi Jin Ri (piosenkarki występującej pod pseudonimem Sulli) doprowadziło do wybuchu paniki moralnej wśród netizenów Korei Południowej. Artystka zyskała ...zaciekłych anty-fanów, łamiąc niepisany etos obowiązujący w koreańskim przemyśle kulturowym, regulujący zachowanie idoli oraz relacje pomiędzy idolami a fanami. Konserwatywne społeczeństwo nie mogło zaakceptować głoszonych przez Choi Jin Ri feministycznych postulatów, bliskich związków z innymi idolkami czy seksualnych podtekstów w udostępnianych przez nią treściach. W niniejszym artykule przedstawione zostało studium przypadku internetowego i medialnego hejtu, polegającego na tym, że internauci za pomocą reakcji i komentarzy dotyczących sfery prywatnej wpływali na odbiór pracy zawodowej oraz zdrowie psychiczne artystki, co doprowadziło do jej samobójstwa w 2019 r. Artykuł problematyzuje pełne nienawiści treści poprzez analizę elementów współczesnego krajobrazu medialnego oraz mechanizmów paniki moralnej jako zjawiska stymulowanego przez strukturę współczesnych mediów.
W przeważającej większości społeczeństw seks to praktyka przypisywana osobom dorosłym, jednak za stały obiekt społecznego niepokoju uznaje się płciowość dzieci. Analizy odnoszące się do dziecięcej ...seksualności wymagają czegoś więcej niż stwierdzenia obecności zróżnicowanych sposobów rozumienia tego, co służy najlepiej pojętemu interesowi dzieci. Przyjęłam za M. Stainton Rogers, że niezbędne jest tu eksplorowanie dyskursu, które pozwoli dociec, skąd się wzięły wartości fundujące konstrukcje dziecięcej płciowości. Punktem odniesienia dla tych eksploracji stał się kształtujący zachodnią politykę i praktykę społeczną dyskurs potrzeb. W jego ramach pojawiają się dążenia do identyfikacji podstawowych „potrzeb” dzieci i odnalezienia rozwiązań „problemów” wiążących się z realizacją tych „potrzeb”. W niniejszym tekście dyskurs potrzeb służy jako punkt wyjścia dla interpretacji historycznych oraz współczesnych sposobów „tworzenia” dziecięcej płciowości. W swoich rozważaniach zidentyfikowałam elementy dyskursu „potrzeb” i „problemów” dzieci wiążących się z płciowością. Nie pominęłam dyskursu nowych zagrożeń generowanych szczególnie w przestrzeni publicznej, w której funkcjonują dzieci. Następnie przyjrzałam się działaniom łączącym się z rozwiązaniem „problemów” dziecięcej seksualności (w tym praktykom ich normalizacji). Rozważaniom tym towarzyszyła analiza konstrukcji dzieci i ich seksualności, które znajdują się w centrum konkretnych „zagrożeń”. Odnosząc się do „potrzeb” i „problemów” dziecięcej płciowości, znaczenie nadałam również generowanym w odniesieniu do nich napięciom.
Filmy o inwazji kosmicznych obcych na Ziemię były fenomenem amerykańskiej kultury popularnej lat 50. Wśród nich znalazły się takie tytuły, jak: Inwazja porywaczy ciał; Dzień, w którym zatrzymała się ...Ziemia; Latające talerze, Wojna światów. Ten popularny podgatunek filmów fantastyki naukowej został bardzo mocno naznaczony przez atmosferę zimnowojennych konfliktów politycznych, a zjawisko „drugiej czerwonej paniki” dotknęło także branżę filmową. Kontekst historyczny sprzyja politycznym interpretacjom tych popularnych filmów. Jedna z tych interpretacji postrzega inwazję istot pozaziemskich jako metaforyczną przestrogę przed zagrożeniem komunizmu. Obcy z kosmosu są w takim przypadku jedynie ucieleśnieniem lęków dręczących amerykańskie społeczeństwo. Zadaniem artykułu jest przeprowadzenie porównawczej analizy treści wybranych filmów w celu potwierdzenia zasadności ich antykomunistycznej interpretacji.
The article presents the results of the analysis of the Polish media discourse on the problemof paedophilia cases and paedophilic acts among the clergy in the years 2013–2019.A particular emphasis in ...the analysis was placed on the events and components of theprocess known in social sciences as the moral panic. The study used the method of criticalanalysis of media discourse (the analysis covered portals known as right-wing, left-wingand liberal) along with the analysis of the existing data. The results of the study show thatin Polish society there is a discursive overcoming of the topic of paedophilia and opennessto the debate around ways to solve the problem, also on the side of church institutions.Over the past six years, there has been a significant transformation of public discourse onthe subject of paedophilia cases of the clergy and postulated ways of solving the problem.The study observed the impact of the symbolic elites – politicians, journalists, membersof organizations and people of culture on progressive changes at the level of perceptionof the phenomenon. During the analysis there was also noticed the process of creatinga new enemy in the form of a sexual minority environment and the sexualization of children,which, in the opinion of the examined environments, is expected to increase thescale of paedophilia.
Pandemija COVID-19 značajno je utjecala na cijeli svijet, što je dovelo do konfuzije i turbulencija u zdravstvenim sustavima, kao i do izrazite neizvjesnosti u financijskom području. Tržišta dionica ...bila su duboko uzdrmana zbog enormno povišenih razina rizika potaknutih pandemijom, što je dodatno povećalo gubitke investitora. Pandemiju je pratio val lažnih priča koje se doimaju kao vijesti ("fake news") koje su kružile svim medijskim kanalima, dodatno pojačavajući neizvjesnost. Ovaj rad proširuje prethodnu literaturu istražujući utjecaj medija na istaknute indekse tržišta dionica i kriptovaluta. Indeksi RavenPack Panic i Fake News korišteni su za ispitivanje njihovog utjecaja na dnevna kretanja S&P 500 i kripto-indeksa (Royalton CRIX) primjenom OLS-a i kvantilne regresije. Rezultati pokazuju da postoje značajne ovisnosti kroz uvjetnu distribuciju, ali pokazuju mali utjecaj na promatrane indekse. Lažne vijesti utječu na dnevni prinos kriptovaluta na medvjeðem tržištu, no učinak je vrlo slab. Nadalje, panika u medijima je značajna i na izrazito medvjeðim kao i bikovskim tržištima s obzirom na dnevne prinose S&P 500, ali takoðer pokazuje slab utjecaj.
V Sloveniji je tako imenovana begunska kriza trajala od oktobra 2015 do marca 2016, ko se je balkanska pot zaprla. Javni diskurz je imel v tem obdobju značilnosti moralne panike, ki je izbruhnila ob ...napovedi madžarske vlade, da bo zaprla mejo s Srbijo in Hrvaško, kar je množice migrantov prisililo na pot do »Nemčije« preko Slovenije, in naenkrat potihnila ob zaprtju balkanske poti. Subjektivno doživljanje obdobja intenzivnega javnega interesa za migracije avtorica opiše preko svojih številnih intervencij v javni prostor. V njih je naslavljala dva sklopa strahov, tistega o valovih in nepreglednih množicah ljudi, ki prihajajo; in tistega o Drugih, ki jih ne bo mogoče integrirati na ravni Evrope in Slovenije. Obe intervenciji sta vsebovali zgodovinske podatke o slovenskem izseljenstvu in begunstvu, izkušnji, ki je potlačena in izrinjena iz kolektivnega spomina, nacionalne zgodovine in kulture ter iz šolskega sistema, ter podatke o integraciji migrantov in beguncev, ki v Sloveniji poteka zadnjih 25, v Evropski uniji pa zadnjih 50 let. Opozarjanje na lastne izkušnje migracij in begunstva v evropskem in slovenskem prostoru v javni diskurz vpelje razmislek o formiranju etnično, versko, jezikovno in kulturno raznolikih ter mešanih prebivalstev in družb, primeri integracijskih praks pa razmislek o tem, da so prav te prakse evropskim družbam omogočile, da so postale in ostale ekonomsko in socialno stabilne in varne.
This article presents research concerning the image of the annual rave party Czechtek (1994–2006) and its media coverage by Czech media. It shows how the framework was established for the description ...of these rave parties, which were characterised by schematic images during annual moral panics — key images depicted the contamination of the surrounding area, drugs, the strange and erratic nature of participants and the dishonouring of the state. This study shows that this media coverage played a repressive role in relation to the subculture by attracting the attention of the public, mobilising large numbers of visitors, and demanding repressive solutions. The article enters into a debate with previous analyses of Czechtek media coverage, and the comparisons they draw with the media coverage of alternative culture during the state socialist dictatorship of the 1970s. The article argues that the one-sided use of the analogy with repressive socialist-era discourse regarding alternative culture is not fruitful, and that it is more interesting to compare and analyse the differences between the two. Post-socialist media discourse is also ideological and repressive, but it is, nevertheless, different to the media discourse of the socialist dictatorship.

The phenotypic ...frequency of blood group B was found to be higher among Gonds, whereas blood group O in Panikas. The phenotypic frequency distribution of Rh (D) antigens is higher than that of Rh (d) among both of the populations. However, allelic frequency distribution of Rh*D and Rh*d was found to be more or less similar among both of the populations.

Globalization processes and their impact on a country's ...financial system stability affects banking system not only with the clear macroeconomic indicators, but also with the panic and uncertainty of resources providers – depositors. Deposit coverage insurance limit increase as risk management tool for Baltic States banking system stability in the period of 2005–2009 was implemented. These actions helped commercial banks, participating in deposit insurance system, to keep their credit ratings and financial stability. However, the main concern is about whether this tool is more theoretical or practical for maintaining stability of the banking system, and what influence to macroeconomic factors make deposits sum in country's banks.
