Why you should read this article:• To refresh your knowledge of the purpose of gathering patient feedback• To enhance your understanding of effective strategies for gathering patient feedback• To ...recognise the value of qualitative and quantitative patient feedback data in quality improvement projectsThe primary purpose of gathering patient feedback is to listen to, reflect on and act on the feedback to improve patients’ experiences, interactions and health outcomes. Nurses use patient feedback to guide person-centred care or to inform healthcare decisions. However, when healthcare services attempt to improve the quality of care, there can be a lack of process clarity, clear measurement and evidence of improvements. This article provides an overview of the strategies used to capture patient feedback and offers guidance on how nurses can make use of such information to promote healthcare improvement.

Introduction/Purpose:
Arthroscopic resection3-term outcomes. However, the midterm outcomes of this approach remain uncertain.
Methods:
We performed a retrospective ...study of patients who underwent arthroscopic resection for symptomatic TCC. The patients were divided into 2 groups (group P, patients with isolated posterior facet coalition; and group MP, patients with both middle and posterior facet coalition). The preoperative and postoperative visual analog scale (VAS) scores for pain and American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) scale scores were calculated. The postoperative AOFAS and VAS scores between the 2 groups were analyzed. Patient satisfaction was also assessed.
Results:
Thirty-two patients were included in this study. The mean age at the time of surgery was 26.0 8.5 years, and the mean follow-up period was 56.9 18.0 months. Postoperative VAS and AOFAS scores improved more significantly than preoperative scores. At the final follow-up, excellent and good subjective outcomes were attained in 26 patients (81%), fair and poor outcomes in 6 patients (19%). There were no statistical differences in the postoperative AOFAS (91.0 7.0 vs 85.8 10.8, P = .532) and VAS score (2.1 1.7 vs 4.0 2.6, P = .537) between patients with the ratio of coalition/posterior facet more than or less than 50%.
Conclusion:
We found that TCC arthroscopic resection was generally associated with reasonable outcomes at midterm follow-up.
Abstract
Objectives
Rapid molecular diagnostics enable expedited and accurate microbiological diagnoses. Consequently, these novel platforms have improved patient outcomes through decreased wait ...times from traditional culture research. The objective of this study was to review the improvement in turnaround time (TAT) for confirmation of negative Strep A screen tests in a clinic setting.
Methods
A retrospective review of tests performed was conducted to review the value of the implementation of rapid molecular tests to confirm negative screen tests for Streptococcus. During the implementation process, the negative screen results were also sent for culture in a traditional microbiology lab. The results of the molecular tests and traditional culture were compared congruently to assess the difference in test results and also to assess the TAT. The results of culture and rapid molecular tests were then compared.
Results
A significant improvement in turnaround time was noted in the results of molecular tests in comparison to traditional culture results. An improvement of 48 hours was seen in the retrieval of results by clinicians and patients alike.
Conclusion
The incorporation of rapid molecular tests in the facility helped significantly in the improvement of turnaround time for the confirmation of Strep A results. The implementation of these rapid molecular diagnostics has not only provided efficiencies in the workflow of the practice but also has been touted by clinicians to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
