Kadžarska kaciga inv. br. GMV 2647 jedan je od mnogobrojnih predmeta
koji svjedoče o dugogodišnjoj suradnji Gradskog muzeja Varaždin i Hrvatskog
restauratorskog zavoda u brizi o očuvanju kulturnih ...dobara.
GMV 66636 i vjerojatno dvostrukom sjekirom inv. br. GMV
Kaciga
je primjer suradnje kustosa i restauratora oko konačne muzealne prezentacije
predmeta. Odlučeno je kako ostaci sačuvanog zlata vizualno dobro funkcioniraju
i nema potrebe za dodatnom intervencijom. Suradnja ovih dviju institucija dovela
This article provides an insight into the cooperation of musicologist Lovro Županović and conductor Vladimir Kranjčević at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival. This cooperation lasted for nearly ...three decades (1971 – 1999) and was one of the most significant projects promoting early Croatian music at the time. Županović studied, discovered and transcribed works by little known Croatian composers, and Kranjčević staged them at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings, as evidenced from numerous published records and twelve volumes in the series of music editions entitled Monuments of the Croatian Musical Past, edited by Županović. As the director of the Varaždin Baroque Evenings, conductor Vladimir Kranjčević embraced the concept of openness to various interpretative aesthetics. Moreover, the Baroque Evenings frequently featured repertoire from the 16th up to the early 19th century. Thus, Županović was in a position to prepare sheet music for contemporary Varaždin premieres of pieces by composers such as Wisner von Morgenstern and Leopold Ebner, as well as the vocal oeuvre by the preeminent Croatian master of Renaissance polyphony, Julije Skjavetić. In adition, a number of professional and scholarly conferences were attached to the festival, and Županović also staged several concerts in cooperation with his Zagreb musicology students. There is no doubt that the first thirty years of the Varaždin Baroque Evenings were marked by the cooperation between Županović and Kranjčević.
This scientific article describes design planning and development of the business database application “Laundry“ for an association named “Terra“ in the city of Rijeka. The idea for a business
...application came during a conversation with the “Oaza“ association employee in Rijeka. Application design planning was preceded by interviewing people which was indispensable in order to make a list of user requirements. These user requirements were needed for developing a relational database in Clarion, Entity – relationship model and for relation model. This article contains pictures as examples of the most important parts of the application made in Clarion program with a matching description. The work resulted in a complete application for the business system association “Terra’s Laundry“ in Rijeka. When the application was done, the meeting was arranged so that the application could be presented to “Terra’s Laundry’s“ employees. At the presentation of the application the employees were expected to comment and say what should be changed, added or removed from the application. In line with what was said at the meeting, the application was modified and finally it was ready to be installaled on the “Terra’s Laundry“ main computer. It was also necessary to install a program for automatic backup in order to make its security copy on daily basis.
The primary role of alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT), encoded by the highly polymorphic SERPINA1 gene, is to protect the lung parenchyma from proteolysis by neutrophil elastase. AAT deficiency (AATD) is an ...autosomal recessive disease, considered as the most important genetic cause of liver disease in children and emphysema in adults. According to frequency, deficient alleles can be classified as »common« (Z and S) and »rare« (Mmalton, Mheerlen, Mprocida etc). Type, intensity and onset of clinical disease associated with AATD occur as a result of interaction between AATD and additional genetic and acquired factors (tobacco smoking, air pollution exposure etc). The most frequent clinical manifestations include premature emphysema, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Epidemiological studies highlight the need for improvement in diagnostic efficiency for AATD. It is recommended for a diagnostic approach to integrate precise, internationally recognized clinical criteria and a standardized laboratory protocol, based on a combination of biochemical and molecular methods. The predilection site of cli nical manifestations guides the therapeutic approach. Augmen tation therapy is possible in lung disease, while currently the only specific measure in patients with severe liver failure due to AATD is transplantation. In all patients, preventive measures, ammeliorating the deleterious effects of habits and environmental factors are recommended. Introduction of gene therapy is expected to additionally improve health outcomes in affected persons. Current results with an integrative AATD diagnostic strategy in the Serbian population are highly encouraging, prompting towards its further implementation in common medical practice with the ultimate goal to establish a national register of affected individuals.
Primarna uloga alfa-1-antitripsina (AAT) jeste da zaštiti plućni parenhim od proteolize dejstvom neutrofilne elastaze. Nje govu biosintezu kontroliše izuzetno polimorfni gen SERPINA1.
The aim of the paper is to analyze and evaluate how meaning is being constructed or deconstructed through the (re) presentation of an actor and the character he plays in the performances staged by ...Gintaras Varnas. Research methods: narratological analysis, comparative analysis. Also the theories and concepts of structuralists and post structuralists were used while forming the theoretical tools for this research. The research showed that in the works of Gintaras Varnas an actor has to fulfill a traditional function – to create a fictional character who is part of the semantic layer of the performance revealing a non-homogeneous personality. Other means that help an actor reveal heterogeneity of the character he is playing are also used, for instance, the intense relationship between an actor’s playing and video projections. It was also noticed that an actor usually has to manipulate different layers of a narrative and create a „play within a play“. In this way an actor constructs a narrative using not only diegetic mimesis but also its shifts. Moreover, an actor and the character he is playing merge truthfulness and dreaminess which are especially important in the works of this stage director. Thus the elements both sustaining the concord of the whole performance and disassembling it are being created through the (re)presentation of an actor and character in Gintaras Varnasʼ performances.
Podaci nastali u zdravstvenom sustavu posljedica su marljivog i složenog rada zdravstvenog i administrativnog osoblja. The Town of Koprivnica Museum has in its possession a collection of guild banners. These textile banners have been stored in the Museum since 1946, after they had been removed from the Koprivnica ...parish church where they hung beside alters. Textiles are extremely fragile materials and these banners were exposed to various bad microclimatic conditions (light, dust, humidity and insects) that caused extensive damage (mechanical, chemical, photochemical, physical). The museum storage of the banners was to preserve and record the guild period in Koprivnica. Initially, the Museum had limited options to stop further degradation of the textile artefacts as it neither had the financial support nor the facilities to insure adequate storage for effective preservation and display. The Museum has now initiated a project for their conservation and restoration of the artefacts. The main partner in this project is the Restoration Centre Ludbreg of the Croatian Conservation Institute from Zagreb. This institution has completed the restoration and conservation of one of the oldest and the most valuable banners from the Museum collection – the banner of the barber, hairdresser, mead and gingerbread, baker, cord maker, soap boiler and turner guilds. The restoration process was very complex and long-lasting, so it is very important to decide how the banner will be kept and stored at the Museum after restoration. Advice from an expert panel suggested that in accordance with contemporary conservation principals, the banner could be kept and displayed inside the Museum showroom. It should however, be displayed lying on a flat, slightly inclined surface (max. 15%) inside a showcase covered by glass. The showcase has to be placed in a room under controlled conditions at a temperature of 18-22°C, relative humidity of 45-55 % and maximum lighting of 50 lux. Constant control and maintenance of adequate microclimatic conditions are very important factors in the safekeeping of textile artefacts making them more resistant to further degradation.
Claustra Alpium Iuliarumis one of the largest architectural military undertakings in the Late Roman Period in today’s territories of Croatia and Slovenia. Due to its dis-tribution through the dense forest and over the areas of two countries, it is difficult to protect, preserve and use this heritage for tourist purposes. The article upon the example of the implemented projects of Claustra and Claustra+ shows how EU fun-ding can be used for an interdisciplinary approach to research, protect and promote this kind of cultural heritage, and to develop a quality and credible cultural product that does not disturb the heritage.
